It sounds like Katherine Heigl is looking to return to her religious ways. She recently told the Daily Mail that she’s “not as disciplined” as she used to be. She continued by saying, “I hope to find my way back as I get older and a little less selfish. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve just got very lazy about it. I satisfy my vices instead of fighting them.”
If she returns to her Mormon roots, Heigl will have to give up smoking and drinking, which sound like the vices she meant in her comment. Sounds like a great thing for her if she does quit, regardless of religion. Sounds like it’s going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to kick the smoking, give up the drinking, and avoid swearing. But she sounds like the type of person determined enough to pull it off.
Grey’s Anatomy will be returning to our screens on Thursday, September 25th at its usual time and place. We can start our countdowns, though it still seems like an incredibly long time from now.
The good news is that ABC has released a new promo for season 5 to tide us over a little bit, so without further ado, here it is.
Can’t wait!
Edit: The video shows clips from back in season 4 unfortunately, but at least ABC has started promoting the date. Hopefully we’ll see some actual footage from season 5 soon.
The nominations for the 2008 ALMA Awards are in, and Sara Ramirez is nominated in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Drama Television Series.
Other nominees in the category include:
Valerie Cruz – The Dresden Files
Cote de Pablo – NCIS
Roselyn Sanchez – Without A Trace
Sara Ramirez was also nominated last year in the category of Outstanding Actress – Television Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie. Looks like they’ve rearranged the categories a little bit. She went up against America Ferrera from Ugly Betty, Constance Marie from George Lopez, and Alexa Vega from Walkout. Unsurprisingly, America Ferrera took the prize in 2007.
It would be great to see Sara Ramirez take home the prize this year.
This year’s award ceremony will air September 12th on ABC, and will be hosted by none other than Eva Longoria Parker.
For more information about the award ceremony, please visit www.almaawards.com.
Kate Walsh showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week wearing nothing but a towel. She tells an interesting story as to why she’s wearing a towel instead of the dress she planned to wear. She also discusses life after marriage.
Kate Walsh is entirely awesome. I really hope they bring her back to Grey’s Anatomy for an episode or two next season.
The other day I posted a video interview with Brooke Smith in which she talked a bit with TV Guide about the upcoming Callie/Hahn releationship. AfterEllen caught up with the Grey’s Anatomy actress at the Television Critics Association last week and talked a bit more about the subject.
Smith revealed that she was “psyched” about the storyline when she first heard about it, and that she thought “it was a great idea.” She says she doesn’t think that Hahn had considered herself a lesbian or even bisexual at any point in her life, and that this whole thing with Callie is likely new to both of them.
Regarding the new season and what’s to come, Smith says that they’re shooting the first episode currently so she doesn’t know a lot of what’s to come in the future. It looks like at the start of season 5, both Callie and Hahn will be in a bit of a panicked state about their shared kiss. But she does say that “something’s coming.”
And for all of you wondering if Sara Ramirez is a good kisser, Smith says she’s, “Very good.”
Last week, during the Television Critics Association, Shonda Rhimes dished out some new information about the upcoming lesbian storyline in Grey’s Anatomy. Love it or hate it, it’s undoubtedly coming, and AfterEllen got the scoop on what’s to come next season for the lovely ladies.
Rhimes told reporters that they have a very “interesting, wonderful, funny way of laying out the story of Callie and Erica.” Which (thankfully) doesn’t seem to point in any way toward a pregnancy of any kind. Rhimes stated that the storyline would not be “typical.”
I mentioned a while ago that Patrick Dempsey was teaming up with Avon to create a signature men’s cologne, and it looks like the product is ready to be pimped out. Patrick Dempsey’s “Unscripted” fragrance will set you back around $32, and you can purchase it through www.avon.com. It will be available this fall.
After the cut, you can check out a video of Patrick Dempsey talking about the cologne at its NYC launch party.
Private Practice is gearing up for its second season, and Audra McDonald and Paul Adelstein talk to TV Guide about what’s to come. Audra dishes on some new sexy scenes and Paul tells us what’s going to be different in season 2.
Everyone’s sounding pretty pumped about next season. I’m looking forward to seeing what Shonda and Co. cook up for us.
In this exclusive Grey’s Anatomy teaser from TV Guide, Brooke Smith talks to us about what’s to come on the show and what will happen after the infamous Callie/Hahn kiss.
She reveals that the show picks up about two weeks after the season finale and that things between Erica and Callie are “awkward.” She also tells us to look for “ice” in the season premiere. And she said she heard that the Callie being pregnant rumor “might not be true.”
Great interview. I, for one, am glad Brooke Smith came along. She might’ve not brought Grey’s Anatomy any additional success, but I think she’s awesome.
The second annual Bow Wow WOW! fundraiser was held this past Saturday at the Playboy Mansion and Kate Walsh was in attendance, showing support for Much Love Animal Rescue. Much Love is a 100% nonprofit, no-kill organization dedicated to reducing the overpopulation, abuse and neglect of domestic animals. They’ve been in operation since 2000 and have placed over 2,000 animals in loving homes.
