It’s evident that the beloved Executive Producer/Creator of our favorite show is excited about the show’s direction and the storylines underway. So let’s see what she had to say about it all!
If you wish to remain fully in the dark about the future of the show and its characters, do look away. Otherwise, carry on.

Burke Coming Back? Little to No Chance
November 5, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
When it comes to television, it’s usually safe to maintain a “never say never” mentality. Situations change all of the time, contracts change all of the time. Bridges are burned. Issues are fixed. People move on. People come back. And when it comes to Grey’s Anatomy there is an ever-revolving door of actors entering and exiting.
So it’s a fair and resonable request – and one that I see very often – to want Burke to return to Seattle Grace. The topic keeps coming back over and over again, and I see it in the comments over and over again, so …read more
Katherine Heigl Takes a Break From Grey’s Anatomy
September 3, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
According to Entertainment Weekly, Katherine Heigl is taking a five episode leave of absense from Grey’s Anatomy, starting almost immediately (past the season premiere) and finishing sometime in November. The reason? A scheduling conflict with the filming of Life As We Know It.
Heigl’s unexpected (or perhaps expected) break from Grey’s potentially overlaps with Ellen Pompeo’s upcoming maternity leave. Which means that for a big chunk of the first half of season 6 we’ll likely be missing both Izzie and Meredith. Expect to see the other doctors at Seattle Grace picking up a lot of extra screen time.
Then again, maybe …read more

Ellen Pompeo Strolling Through L.A. (Photos)
August 17, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
The rumor mill is spinning wildly lately with news that Ellen Pompeo will be giving birth to a baby girl. She was spotted by questionable sources at a maternity store looking at the pink clothes. But nothing has been confirmed in this regard.
What we do know, is that she remains both pregnant and beautiful, and seems to really enjoy strolling through Los Angeles with a cell phone and some coffee. It remains to be seen how Shonda Rhimes will hide the pregnancy during the first episodes of Grey’s Anatomy’s season 6. While some viewers were hoping that the pregnancy would …read more
ABC’s Stephen McPherson on Heigl and the Future of Grey’s
August 10, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
During the 2009 Summer Press Tour, ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson spoke briefly about Grey’s Anatomy, stating that the show is “evolving” and that Shonda Rhimes “hit her stride” at the end of season five. So far, McPherson and the rest of the ABC suits seem to be “happy” with what they’ve seen of season six, which for us can mean just about anything. But hopefully good things!
In terms of what’s to come next season (avert your eyes if you don’t want to know anything!) he stated that the show would be seeing a few additions to the cast (interns …read more

August 5, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Shonda Rhimes seems intent on keeping the Grey’s Anatomy cast connected to the world of Private Practice. Last season we saw several episodes in which both casts shared a common storyline, bringing both shows together as one. Now, according to Exec Producer/Creator Shonda Rhimes, in the next season of Private Practice, Bailey (Chandra Wilson), will be heading over to Oceanside to help Addison (Kate Walsh) with “a very interesting” medical procedure.
The crossover will occur during the third episode of Private Practice so be sure to tune in. It’s been revealed that per her nature Baily will “not be shy …read more
George Spoilers and the Story We Won’t Get to See
July 27, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
By now I’m fairly certain that anyone that keeps up with Grey’s Anatomy news between and during seasons is aware that T.R. Knight has officially left the show.
We knew, too, that Shonda Rhimes stated around the time of the announcement that she really wanted T.R. Knight to come back to film an episode of season six, but that Knight declined the offer. This left us wondering what exactly Rhimes might’ve wanted to film and whether it meant that George had a chance of survival, or not.
Well we now know for certain exactly why Shonda Rhimes wanted T.R. Knight back and …read more
Grey’s Anatomy Season 6 Spoilers: Lexie Taking Over for Meredith?
July 23, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
According to Shonda Rhimes, season six is going to be about transitioning. It seems to have occurred to the exec producer and creator that eventually most of the cast will want to move on and while I think a lot of us would agree that’d be the right time to pack it up, Rhimes thinks the show could have a future beyond the core cast, if they play their cards right. What brought all this on? Well, there’s T.R. Knight’s decision to leave the show, as well as Ellen Pompeo’s upcoming maternity leave.
Here’s the full quote from Shonda Rhimes about …read more
