The episode sounds like it will be focused mainly on the personal lives of the doctors at Seattle Grace. It should be a really interesting episode to watch.

Here’s what you can expect from the episode:

Miranda will be getting a visit from a disapproving father. Mark and by extension, Lexie, will have to cope with the unexpected arrival of a woman from Mark’s past. And Papa Grey returns! Kim Raver guest stars as Dr. Teddy Altman and Frankie Faison guest stars as Bailey’s dad.

But now there’s a couple of sneak peeks released by ABC for tonight’s episode, entitled “New History.” We pick up with Cristina and Jackson – and for those of you cheering them on, this clip makes it clear that if they do end up together, it won’t be an easy ride. It seems like the writers are creating two possible outcomes for Cristina: a future with Hunt or maybe one with the new guy. Many viewers have responded positively to the idea of Cristina/Jackson. So who knows if they’re meant to be.

Oh and did I mention that Izzie’s back? Oh I did. Well, Izzie’s back! And I’m sure Alex has a lot of mixed emotions on the subject. Do you think those two are going to make it? I’m willing to bet Reed hopes they don’t.

For those of you that haven’t seen the first five minutes of the season 6 premiere, here you go:

They’re sort of evil, aren’t they, those Grey’s Anatomy people? Leading us on to believe that there’s a chance it’s not George.

Lots of people are now confused because of the sneak peek and are wondering if there’s a chance that George is still alive. Ausiello responds, “Yes, there’s a chance. A really, really small chance. Tiny. See where I’m going with this?” There’s no chance. Don’t get your hopes up. Move through denial into acceptance.

The other question asked of Ausiello was whether Katherine Heigl adopting was the reason for her five week hiatus from the show. Ausiello says that’s not what he’s heard. What we’ve all heard is that she’s filming a movie and needed some time off for that.

In terms of actual spoilers for the series, he did have some, in the way of: “The looming shakeup at Seattle Grace will have everyone fearing for his/her jobs. And that includes Cristina, who is forced to consider the unthinkable: a career in pediatrics.”

Is everyone going into pediatrics? My goodness.

And… that’s it from Ausiello.

But the good news is that season 6 premieres in one week. One. Week. At long, long last.

What did you all think of the first five minutes? I’m really looking forward to seeing the whole episode. Although, I know it’s going to be a tearjerker the whole way through.

In the latest edition of Ausiello TV, Michael Ausiello dropped a bit of a spoiler at the end with regards to MerDer and the season finale. Now it’s not a “major spoiler” being that he didn’t actually say what is happening, but he did hint strongly at something positive going on with our favorite couple in the last episode of season five.

Here’s the lowdown on what he said:

(While pretending to be on the phone regarding the Meredith/Derek wedding):

“I’m off to the big wedding – wait, what was that? There’s been a change of plans? Someone else is getting married … shocker … who? … aww, sounds romantic. Well, let me just ask you: Derek and Meredith fans – are they going to be pissed? Oh… in the finale … nice, nice … well, I’m going to get going…”

And that’s all he said. Exchange your drama-protection hats for speculation-hats and drop your thoughts in the comments. What do you think is happening in the finale?

Alas, we still don’t know if Izzie and/or George come back next season, and must continue the long, painful wait for answers.

But for you Katherine Heigl fans, there’s this from Sharon Lawrence (she who plays Izzie’s mom in tonight’s episode). I’m going to quote it in its entirety because it’s flattering and nice. On the subject of her first day on the set of Grey’s, she has this to say on the subject of Heigl:

“The first thing I did was barge in and hug her,” Lawrence explains with a laugh. “I could tell right away she was present and not guarded. We got to know each other as the day went on, because we would have time to talk about other things while we were waiting to work. It’s an odd thing we do for a living. Sometimes you have to get very close to somebody right away. That’s why I was so grateful for her openness and warmth, and it’s because of that that we were able to make physical and emotional choices that really conveyed the intimacy these two had. She is such an honest and open actress. There is not an untrue bone in her body as an actor, and it made my job so easy.”

Further proof that Katherine Heigl is awesome.

And now for some actual spoilers. These pertain to Meredith and her relationship with both Thatcher and the Chief.

Though it looks like Meredith will not resolve all of her Daddy Thatcher issues in tonight’s episode, Ausiello tells us that she will “reach a new understanding with the Chief.” I’m not sure what that means. She also gives him a “pretty major” gift, which may “play a big role next season.” The last part is Ausiello speculating, so don’t take it as fact quite yet. However, feel free to start speculating yourselves.

There’s some bad news in store for the Save Izzie campaign this time around. Kristin tells us that Izzie is getting worse not better. However, Izzie’s mom drops in this week and her psychic (she’s got a psychic, apparently) says that Izzie is going to be “just fine.”

You ever notice how in TV shows it’s usually better for things to get worse than better? If she were getting better over night, I’d worry about that. They like the twists. So if Izzie is getting worse, it’s because maybe at the last minute she’ll get better. Right? Right?! Because that’s what has to happen…

Meredith, for her part, is going to cross the line with a patient this week. I’m not sure what that means, but it apparently makes the Chief really angry. And Meredith ends up uninviting him to the wedding. I’m not sure if he gets angry with her and then she uninvites him, or if she uninvites him and then he gets angry.

TV Guide launched its season finale guide, and while there’s not much to be said in the way of spoilers, there’s this intriguing tidbit: Series creator Shonda Rhimes reportedly told her cast that “life-changing things” are in store for every major Seattle Gracer.

Well, death will do that. Of course, it’s still unknown if anyone will die, or who will die if someone does die. But it helps to be emotionally prepared.

Meanwhile, you can look forward to two exciting guest stars: Liza Weil (Gilmore Girls) and Debra Mooney (Everwood). As well as what now seems to be Shannon Lucio in place of Kaley Cuoco.

Rhimes and Co. are keeping a tight lid on details about the finale, which is a sure sign that some major things are in store.

The good news is: There’s all new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy paving the way until the finale.

This week: 5.21 “No Good at Saying Sorry” – Thursday, April 30, 9/8c on ABC.

Here’s another handful of spoilers for you!

• We know already that Callie will be coming out to ther dad in tonight’s episode and that he’s not going to take it well. It sounds like due to his reaction she considers telling her family that things with Arizona are over.
• We’ll get lots more George in the next few episodes. And he’s back as “a kick ass surgeon.”
• Cristina and Owen aren’t going to get their relationship back on track any time soon. Owen’s gotta get his issues under control first and that’s going to take time.
• In what sounds like it could be Izzie we’re talking about: Meredith crosses a line with a patient in an upcoming episode. So much so that her job is put on the line if she doesn’t step away from the case.
• Mark and Derek’s feud? Not going to last forever. But things are made worse when Derek tells Mer he wants the Chief to be his best man. Meredith doesn’t take this news well at all, even threatening not to get married.
• Izzie is going to get really, really insane with the illness and the wedding preparations. In addition, she’s going to use her illness to get stuff she wants or needs, even faking being sicker than she is to get attention.

Can’t wait for tonight’s episode! Seriously.
