Rumor: ‘Lost’ Cast Member to Join Greys?

June 8, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

zumaredwestphotos070732-20080906-dbl-h16So the following piece of news may or may not have anything at all to do with Grey’s Anatomy. But since it could have something to do with it, let’s take a look, shall we?

Do avert your eyes if you wish to remain entirely unawares of anything and all things regarding the possible future of Grey’s.

Still with me? Good.

Reports from the Spoiler House of Ausiello state that Dominic Monaghan has managed to escape the island in Lost and jump on over to a different ABC show. Now it’s all very hush-hush. So hush-hush in fact that the show’s powers that be don’t want anyone to know about it. Know of any shows on ABC with secretive creators that hate spoiler leaks? Well, all of them, maybe.

Now the question remains: If it is actually Grey’s Anatomy that Mr. Monaghan will be joining, why all the secrecy? Does it have something to do with George? Or Izzie? Or something else Shonda Rhimes wishes to keep entirely secret?

Some suggest the reason for the privacy might have to do with Monaghan taking over for T.R. Knight as George O’Malley. Despite the fact that Shonda Rhimes has debunked this rumor, many still think it will happen anyway. After all, Shonda & Co. do love their twists. But I’m still of the camp that believes that this would a) piss off a lot of people and b) be a terribly lame idea. George without T.R. is not George and I’d be hardpressed to believe that the show would go in that direction.

Perhaps it’s not Grey’s at all that he’ll be joining. But if he were to join Grey’s what do you think his role would be?

Drop your thoughts in the comments!

Latest Official Word On Grey’s Anatomy Rumors

June 1, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

While the media fans the flames of rumors and speculation and us fans continue to contemplate the future of Grey’s Anatomy and its cast, the folks behind the show - i.e. Shonda Rhimes & Co - are running around trying to dispell these rumors. So, for those of you that want to keep track of what’s being said officially, here’s a quick rundown for you:

  • Regarding the rumor that T.R. Knight might be replaced by a different actor in order to keep George alive, the official word from Shonda Rhimes on this is, “A hilarious, ridiculous rumor.” She stated this via Twitter.
  • Regarding the rumor that T.R. Knight has officially been let out of his contract - It seems T.R. Knight remains contracted with the series throughout Season 6. This is backed up by ABC’s President, and also an industry source that has stated that, “Nothing at all has changed in T.R.’s status.” This of course is no guarantee of anything regarding George’s future, simply that the actor is still contracted to the show.
  • More on T.R. Knight from Shonda Rhimes: “There have been lots of rumors about T.R., but T.R.’s never said anything. Take from it what you will.”
  • There is no official word from either T.R. Knight’s or Katherine Heigl’s reps on any of this stuff.

In other words: T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl will be back if ABC/Shonda Rhimes wishes for them to be back. And for the moment, no one wants us to know what’s going to happen with George and Izzie.

For the sake of everyone’s sanity, I’d advice everyone to sit back and not believe anything one way or another regarding either character. It’s very unlikely that those who actually know anything for certain are going to be leaking it, and it’s going to be a bit before things start leaking from above.

I’ll say that I’m relieved that the rumor that George might be back as a different actor has been put to rest. I didn’t really imagine they’d go that route, but all the same: phew.

Katherine Heigl Gets Dropped from Film

May 27, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

INFphoto 884141The latest rumors and gossip surrounding Katherine Heigl have nothing to do with Izzie’s fate. But for those of you that like to keep up with the actors in their off-time, here’s what’s going on: Apparently, Heigl asked for the astronomical price of $3 million for an ensemble role that would’ve probably seen her working about three days.

She was cast for the film, Valentines’ Day, a romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshall, and as the rumor has it, due to her monetary demand, she was dropped from the film.

Others starring in this film: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley McLaine and Bradley Cooper.

It seems producers could not meet the $3 million price tag hanging around Katherine Heigl’s neck. The number has been cited as “ridiculous” due to the fact that the film has no lead role. The work would be at most fourteen days and at the very least three days.

Despite the fact that sources are stating that the film dropped Heigl, her reps are stating that these allegations are “ludicrous” and that she’s the one that dropped them for “multiple reasons.” No comment from the spokeswoman for New Line on that.

As always, it’s unclear whether there’s any truth to this, or whether it’s just the media running with the Diva angle again. So feel free to discuss your thoughts on the validity of these rumors.

Grey’s Anatomy Rumors: Does Meredith Have a Half Brother?

February 25, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

krtpluggedinphotos002291-PLG-DVDPIC

In his latest installment of Ausiello TV, Michael Ausiello revealed a particularly fascinating tidbit: Shonda Rhimes has been secretly searching for a bi-racial male in his twenties to play a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy. Could this be pointing to a secret half-brother for Meredith? Does the Chief know? And will Cristina be the one to find out through the journals?

So much to speculate on! But Ausiello tells us that we’ll have to wait to find out because Shonda Rhimes has put the casting on hold until next season.

But what do you think about this potential twist? Good idea? Bad idea?

Grey’s Anatomy Rumors: Izzie Lives … George Dies? And Cryptic MerDer News

February 23, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

phlphotos159148-Shonda-Rhimes3116Ausiello’s latest TV show scoopfest says that the latest rumor circling the Grey’s Anatomy world is that Shonda Rhimes is planning to trick us with this whole Izzie-is-going-to-die rumor, because the one that is really going to die is … George!

Seriously? Seriously?!

That’s all the details he’s got on that particular rumor, and since everyone’s denying that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving, then we must insert a big Who Knows right about here.

But we all know how much Shonda hates spoilers and info getting leaked. So if this is already out there, chances are she’ll change her mind again.

But what would you make of this development if it really were to happen?

And then there’s this little snippet from Pete Nowalk’s latest Grey Matter blog post regarding the MerDer storyline: “it’s not going where you think.”

What does that meeeean?

Ideas? Drop them in the comments. We’ve got a long three weeks ahead of us!

Sara Ramirez Leaving Grey’s Rumors Untrue

December 22, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Sara RamirezLooks like the rumor mill has been spinning with news that Sara Ramirez has been offered a mighty sweet deal to star on her very own TV show. As nice as it would be for Sara Ramirez to finally be recognized for the star that she is, it looks like the rumor is simply a rumor and nothing more.

Her rep told TV Guide that they’ve heard nothing about it. I certainly don’t want Callie to leave Grey’s Anatomy as much as I’d love to see Sara Ramirez in a starring role somewhere.

I mentioned the other day that Callie’s character was likely to hook up with Jessica Capshaw’s - who’ll be guest starring as Dr. Arizona Robbins starting on Jan. 8. I thought she was only signed for a three episode guest spot, but I was wrong; it’s more than that!

And the “hook up” won’t happen until her third appearance. It’s unclear whether or not it’s going to lead anywhere. Considering Jessica Capshaw is only a guest star and not a series regular I sort of doubt it will. Unless, of course, they decide to keep her on board (I’ve not heard anything to indicate that they will).

T.R. Knight Not Leaving Grey’s Anatomy … Apparently

December 9, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

2006 TCA Tour - Day 12

The rumor mill continues to spin. I mentioned a couple of blind items last week. One pertaining to Grey’s directly and the other that could pertain to Grey’s. It seems like a cast member on the show has been acting up and being a big pain in the butt for the rest of the cast and crew. All fingers seemed to point at T.R. Knight, given the clues. The other blind item told us that someone from a hit show had been acting up and had been silently let go - without being told - by the network.

Earlier in the week, an entertainment lawyer posted on his blog that T.R. Knight had walked off the set of Grey’s and officially quit the show because he felt like “his story line is stupid.” And to that I say: What story line? George doesn’t really have one this season.

But regardless, today we have news directly from T.R. Knight’s rep that states, “T.R. has never walked off set in the middle of filming. He attended the table read today and will be shooting this week, like any other week of production.”

Of course, that doesn’t really negate any of the other rumors about him. Here’s what was written on the blog:

“He hasn’t attended table reads since episode 2. He is pissed and miserable and thinks his story line is stupid. He said goodbye to his hair and makeup people last week. He says he is done and has quit. ABC has not released him. Shonda Rhimes, the producer called him and he told her he had nothing to say. He has packed his dressing room.”

That seems a bit over the top, but who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Do you think T.R. Knight is acting like the diva everyone’s making him out to be or do you think this is all b.s. for the sake of publicity?

Kevin McKidd Might Play Thor

December 4, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

krtkidselements011086-KN-SAYWHAT-3-It seems that Kevin McKidd is rather popular these days. News came the other day that he might be leaving the Grey’s set for Rome and now there’s rumblings that the Thor movie might be picking him up for the lead. In an interview with IGN Movies, the actor revealed that there’s still the chance that he’ll get cast in the role.

Thankfully for Grey’s fans who don’t want to see the actor taken away to yet another project, nothing’s been set in stone. And again - like with Rome - there’s the chance that these schedules might co-exist in harmony. Let’s hope so, anyway. I don’t think most of us want to see Hunt gone.

Regardless, it’s great for Kevin McKidd to have so many great projects on the line. He deserves it!

Grey’s Anatomy Cast Member Gets Phased Out

December 3, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

zumaredwestphotos036875-20080616-paf-f05I’m starting to think they should give up the fictional storylines on Grey’s and just create a behind-the-scenes reality show. There’s always something going on. I mentioned that Ausiello wrote up a very general blind item regarding the firing of a cast member in a hit TV show. Could be anyone, right? Well, now Kristin at E! Online has put up a more specific blind item regarding Grey’s Anatomy. It seems that someone from the cast has been causing major troubles for everyone, and that someone has been written out of a lot of the scenes/episodes this season due to this turmoil.

Specifically, a source state that, “The reason [the actor] has not been on is because [he or she] has been a pain in the ass lately, trying to change scenes and dialogue, being hard to work with and putting up an attitude. The higher-ups were getting tired of it, so they tweaked [him or her] out of some episodes. That’s why you haven’t really seen [him or her] lately.”

Well let’s see, who haven’t we seen much of lately? Oh, I know. George.

Could T.R. Knight be the one getting fired? Or is this just a coincidence? Or do you have someone even better to suspect as a likely pain in the ass candidate. Is there someone else we haven’t seen a lot of this season?

More on Denny and Izzie … Sort Of

December 3, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Peter Alexander Store Opening On Robertson

In that loving cryptic style of his, Michael Ausiello has left us with a question in his latest column, and this one is regarding the whole Izzie/Denny business that some of you love, some of you hate, and some of you love to hate. Though there’s no new spoilers on the subject, he left us with this: “Don’t you find it odd, not to mention a little suspicious, that Katherine Heigl — the outspoken star of such scandals as Emmygate and Isaiahgate – hasn’t expressed a single opinion about this storyline yet? Just putting that out there.”

Would anyone like a shot at unraveling the mystery of that statement?

Earlier in the week, Ausiello dropped a Blind Item on our laps, telling us that “an original cast member of a hit series … has been pink-slipped without the benefit of being a pink slip.”
