Grey’s Anatomy 6.01 Casting Spoiler
July 9, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
For now, the flow of Grey’s Anatomy spoilers is down to a trickle, but we’ll take what we can get. Recently, SpoilerTV posted a casting call for 6.01, pointing to the fact that the show is looking to cast a priest for the first episode of the season. This led some minds to wonder whether this meant we should expect another wedding of some sort.
Unfortunately, Ausiello is quick to put that idea to rest and give it a grimmer spin.
He states that there will not be a wedding and that the priest’s role in the episode will be “for something far less celebratory.”
I think we can probably guess what he’s implying here. Come the first episode of the season we’ll finally have something resembling a resolution to the painful cliffhanger we were left with. Of course, contract news has already made its way out into the world, so we know who’s leaving Grey’s Anatomy.
Is everyone getting emotionally prepared for the season premiere?

It’s Official: Katherine Heigl to Remain on Grey’s Anatomy
June 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
On the heels of the tragic news that T.R. Knight is leaving Seattle Grace (probably for good), comes the really great news that Katherine Heigl is staying on. What does this mean for season six? Well, there’s no guarantees of anything when it comes to the storyline and what happens to the characters, but actors leaving and staying on is usually a good indication about what happens to their fictional counterparts.
The way things are looking: George dies, Izzie lives.
As saddened as I am that any of them has to die, I think I would’ve been more surprised if the outcome had been any different. But I know a lot of you were thinking/hoping that George would be the one to survive and Izzie would head through the exit doors.
This is a pretty major development for the series. When season six airs, we’ll be missing one of the core characters that made Grey’s Anatomy the show it is today. Do you think that T.R. Knight/George being gone from the show will mean the end of the series as we know it? Will you stop watching all together or is Izzie’s survival enough to keep you glued to the screen?

T.R. Knight Officially Departs From Grey’s Anatomy
June 17, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
While we’re still a ways away from the season six premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, sources from above have confirmed that ABC has granted T.R. Knight a release from his contract.
What does this mean for George? I’m afraid that the news is grim. Though many fans seem to still think the character could live on in another actor’s body, Rhimes has laughed off the rumor, which presumably means that George does not survive the accident.
It does however sound like Shonda & Co. would’ve liked to have Knight around for three episodes next season, but that could not be worked out. Which means that we may very well have seen the last of George/T.R. Knight at Seattle Grace.
Sad news.
For T.R. Knight fans, the actor is in talks to return to the Broadway stage for the revival of Lend Me a Tenor in 2010.
How do you feel about the departure? And what do you think it means for Izzie?

Rumor: ‘Lost’ Cast Member to Join Greys?
June 8, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
So the following piece of news may or may not have anything at all to do with Grey’s Anatomy. But since it could have something to do with it, let’s take a look, shall we?
Do avert your eyes if you wish to remain entirely unawares of anything and all things regarding the possible future of Grey’s.
Still with me? Good.
Reports from the Spoiler House of Ausiello state that Dominic Monaghan has managed to escape the island in Lost and jump on over to a different ABC show. Now it’s all very hush-hush. So hush-hush in fact that the show’s powers that be don’t want anyone to know about it. Know of any shows on ABC with secretive creators that hate spoiler leaks? Well, all of them, maybe.
Now the question remains: If it is actually Grey’s Anatomy that Mr. Monaghan will be joining, why all the secrecy? Does it have something to do with George? Or Izzie? Or something else Shonda Rhimes wishes to keep entirely secret?
Some suggest the reason for the privacy might have to do with Monaghan taking over for T.R. Knight as George O’Malley. Despite the fact that Shonda Rhimes has debunked this rumor, many still think it will happen anyway. After all, Shonda & Co. do love their twists. But I’m still of the camp that believes that this would a) piss off a lot of people and b) be a terribly lame idea. George without T.R. is not George and I’d be hardpressed to believe that the show would go in that direction.
Perhaps it’s not Grey’s at all that he’ll be joining. But if he were to join Grey’s what do you think his role would be?

Latest Official Word On Grey’s Anatomy Rumors
June 1, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
While the media fans the flames of rumors and speculation and us fans continue to contemplate the future of Grey’s Anatomy and its cast, the folks behind the show - i.e. Shonda Rhimes & Co - are running around trying to dispell these rumors. So, for those of you that want to keep track of what’s being said officially, here’s a quick rundown for you:
- Regarding the rumor that T.R. Knight might be replaced by a different actor in order to keep George alive, the official word from Shonda Rhimes on this is, “A hilarious, ridiculous rumor.” She stated this via Twitter.
- Regarding the rumor that T.R. Knight has officially been let out of his contract - It seems T.R. Knight remains contracted with the series throughout Season 6. This is backed up by ABC’s President, and also an industry source that has stated that, “Nothing at all has changed in T.R.’s status.” This of course is no guarantee of anything regarding George’s future, simply that the actor is still contracted to the show.
- More on T.R. Knight from Shonda Rhimes: “There have been lots of rumors about T.R., but T.R.’s never said anything. Take from it what you will.”
- There is no official word from either T.R. Knight’s or Katherine Heigl’s reps on any of this stuff.
In other words: T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl will be back if ABC/Shonda Rhimes wishes for them to be back. And for the moment, no one wants us to know what’s going to happen with George and Izzie.
For the sake of everyone’s sanity, I’d advice everyone to sit back and not believe anything one way or another regarding either character. It’s very unlikely that those who actually know anything for certain are going to be leaking it, and it’s going to be a bit before things start leaking from above.
I’ll say that I’m relieved that the rumor that George might be back as a different actor has been put to rest. I didn’t really imagine they’d go that route, but all the same: phew.

Katherine Heigl Gets Dropped from Film
May 27, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
The latest rumors and gossip surrounding Katherine Heigl have nothing to do with Izzie’s fate. But for those of you that like to keep up with the actors in their off-time, here’s what’s going on: Apparently, Heigl asked for the astronomical price of $3 million for an ensemble role that would’ve probably seen her working about three days.
She was cast for the film, Valentines’ Day, a romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshall, and as the rumor has it, due to her monetary demand, she was dropped from the film.
Others starring in this film: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley McLaine and Bradley Cooper.
It seems producers could not meet the $3 million price tag hanging around Katherine Heigl’s neck. The number has been cited as “ridiculous” due to the fact that the film has no lead role. The work would be at most fourteen days and at the very least three days.
Despite the fact that sources are stating that the film dropped Heigl, her reps are stating that these allegations are “ludicrous” and that she’s the one that dropped them for “multiple reasons.” No comment from the spokeswoman for New Line on that.
As always, it’s unclear whether there’s any truth to this, or whether it’s just the media running with the Diva angle again. So feel free to discuss your thoughts on the validity of these rumors.

Grey’s Anatomy Season Finale Spoilers: MerDer Edition
May 6, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

In the latest edition of Ausiello TV, Michael Ausiello dropped a bit of a spoiler at the end with regards to MerDer and the season finale. Now it’s not a “major spoiler” being that he didn’t actually say what is happening, but he did hint strongly at something positive going on with our favorite couple in the last episode of season five.
Here’s the lowdown on what he said:
**Spoilers**
(While pretending to be on the phone regarding the Meredith/Derek wedding):
“I’m off to the big wedding - wait, what was that? There’s been a change of plans? Someone else is getting married … shocker … who? … aww, sounds romantic. Well, let me just ask you: Derek and Meredith fans - are they going to be pissed? Oh… in the finale … nice, nice … well, I’m going to get going…”
And that’s all he said. Exchange your drama-protection hats for speculation-hats and drop your thoughts in the comments. What do you think is happening in the finale?

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Meredith/Thatcher/Chief
April 30, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
This week’s Ausiello didn’t bring huge amounts of spoilers in the way of Grey’s Anatomy. It did, however, bring some good news for Arizona fans: Jessica Capshaw is coming back next season! And not only that, she’s in the process of signing on to be a full-on series regular. Yay! We knew it was a possibility, and now it’s getting to be pretty near official.
Alas, we still don’t know if Izzie and/or George come back next season, and must continue the long, painful wait for answers.
But for you Katherine Heigl fans, there’s this from Sharon Lawrence (she who plays Izzie’s mom in tonight’s episode). I’m going to quote it in its entirety because it’s flattering and nice. On the subject of her first day on the set of Grey’s, she has this to say on the subject of Heigl:
“The first thing I did was barge in and hug her,” Lawrence explains with a laugh. “I could tell right away she was present and not guarded. We got to know each other as the day went on, because we would have time to talk about other things while we were waiting to work. It’s an odd thing we do for a living. Sometimes you have to get very close to somebody right away. That’s why I was so grateful for her openness and warmth, and it’s because of that that we were able to make physical and emotional choices that really conveyed the intimacy these two had. She is such an honest and open actress. There is not an untrue bone in her body as an actor, and it made my job so easy.”
Further proof that Katherine Heigl is awesome.
And now for some actual spoilers. These pertain to Meredith and her relationship with both Thatcher and the Chief.
