Well, it looks like all of the mystery surrounding the stroller-shopping has been answered: Yesterday, Katherine Heigl hosted Ellen Pompeo’s baby shower at her home in Los Angeles. There were twenty-five guests at the party, including Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh and Eric Dane’s wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart. According to PEOPLE, the party was held in the backyard, beneath the merciful shade of umbrellas.

In an effort to get more people to watch both Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, ABC and Shondaland are planning some crossovers between the two shows. They’re banking that if they give us some connected storylines we’ll undoubtedly tune in. Already, we know that Chandra Wilson will be leaping over to Private Practice for a crossover episode.

Shonda Rhimes seems intent on keeping the Grey’s Anatomy cast connected to the world of Private Practice. Last season we saw several episodes in which both casts shared a common storyline, bringing both shows together as one. Now, according to Exec Producer/Creator Shonda Rhimes, in the next season of Private Practice, Bailey (Chandra Wilson), will be heading over to Oceanside to help Addison (Kate Walsh) with “a very interesting” medical procedure.

I know that Kate Walsh isn’t technically part of Grey’s Anatomy anymore, but she’ll always be a part of Seattle Grace to me. So I was happy to find that she was also in attendance at the premiere of Katherine Heigl’s new movie The Ugly Truth. Beautiful as always, our dear Addison was all smiles for the cameras. The event took place on July 16 at The Pacific’s Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, CA.

E! Online posted a couple of sneak peeks from this week’s Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. Unfortunately, the Grey’s Anatomy one is pretty much the same one I posted the other day. Whether they thought it was awesome or disappointing, it seems people still tuned in to watch the big Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice crossover extravaganza last Thursday.
According to the ratings, our show managed to narrow the ratings gap against its biggest competitor, CSI. Grey’s scored 15.1 million viewers to CSI’s 17.8. And Private Practice hit an all time high among 18-49 -year olds with 14.2 million viewers.
Not bad.
It would seem all the hype and publicity paid off for ABC. Let’s see how many people return for the next part of the crossover.

It’s really great to see Addison around the Grey’s Anatomy cast again. She’s hands down the character I miss the most on the show. And sure, sure’s on Private Practice but … it’s not the same!
