Grey’s Anatomy Poll: How do you feel about Brooke Smith getting fired?

November 6, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

So the latest Grey’s Anatomy drama happening at the moment has less to do with fictional plotlines and everything to do with behind-the-scene happenings. Why is this always the case with this show? Oh hai, November sweeps!

One actress is fired, one relationship goes poof, one character goes from bi to straight, and none of it makes a whole lot of sense to me. But how do you feel about it?

Sightings: T.R. Knight, Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo

July 5, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Ellen_pompeo_02_ncE! Online had a very short blurb in their Sightings article regarding T.R Knight, Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo. It seems that the Grey’s Anatomy trio was spotted “eating cupcakes and laughing” at Mike McGuiness’ and Kari Feinstein’s birthday party in L.A.  There was no photo to accompany this sighting but it’s always nice to hear about the cast of Grey’s Anatomy having a good time together.

And speaking of good times together, it looks like Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery are enjoying married life. The happy couple was seen taking a romantic stroll by the Hundson River in the company of their precious doggies. Sounds like Meredith is taking it easy before going back to work.

Grey’s Anatomy News Bites: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo

April 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

NewspaperToday is an exciting day for Grey’s Anatomy fans: it’s the return of our favorite show! Yay! I thought this day would never come. But since the premiere of “Where the Wild Things Are” is still a few (interminable) hours away, here’s a couple of news bites to keep you entertained.

  • Patrick Dempsey is featured in this Sunday’s issue of Parade, and he talks a bit about Eric Dane’s pecs. Dempsey says he’s got “pec envy” because McSteamy is in “perfect shape.” I’m pretty sure the ladies out there love him just the way he is. Via | Yahoo!
  • Ellen Pompeo was seen at an after-party for Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton in the arms of Lil’ Kim. Oh fine, nothing as scandalous as all that. But they were photographed together, looking fabulous. Check out the picture evidence.

Check out more news bites you may have missed. And don’t forget to tune in to tonight’s episode!

Grey’s Anatomy News Bites: Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, and more

April 20, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Patrick_dempsey-01_SPHere’s a few Grey’s Anatomy-related articles to get you through your Sunday:

  • The Orlando Sentinel interviewed Patrick Dempsey to discuss the woes of being a leading man in Hollywood. It might be hard to believe, but our McDreamy had a rough time trying to get back into the swing of things. He says, “It was a struggle just to find work.” Thank God for Grey’s Anatomy. You can also catch Patrick Dempsey in his new movie Made of Honor which opens on May 2nd.
  • Another of Grey’s Anatomy’s leading men popped up on the news recently: Eric Dane. The Perth Sunday Times  has an article on McSteamy and his growing role on Grey’s Anatomy.
  • Meanwhile, the people at the WTAWorld forums want to know: Who’s your favorite Grey’s Anatomy character?
  • And My Park Magazine discusses Patrick Dempsey’s unpopular Spandex cycling shorts. Apparently, his wife disapproves. “I get a lot of c**p for wearing them,” says the actor.

Anyone mind McDreamy in Spandex?

Katherine Heigl May Skip Golden Globes

December 18, 2007 by Julie Bonner

katherine-heigl-11.jpgKatherine Heigl has definitely never been one to keep her opinions to herself. She has supported the writer’s strike, defended bud T.R. Knight and has made interesting comments about both a movie she was in and the show Grey’s Anatomy. Her opinions seem to serve her well, as she is climbing the ladder of success.

So, what’s the latest buzz around Ms. Heigl? She’s reportedly saying that she may skip the Golden Globes, in which she got a nod, if the writer’s strike doesn’t end.

I love this quote from her, “I think most women have been in the position of being a real people pleaser at one time or another in their lives. I kind of got over that in my early 20s. I just sort of think if you couch what you feel too often, you’re not really being true to yourself.

Grey’s Anatomy Cast Joins the Writers on Strike Once Again

December 14, 2007 by Julie Bonner

isaiah-washington-joins-writers-picket-lines.jpg

Some of the Grey’s Anatomy cast joined the writers picket lines again on Wednesday. Guess who else was there? Isaiah Washington! (Did the picture of him with the big sign give it away?) They really do seem to support the writers. Now someone strike a deal already!!

Even without a script, the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” generated plenty of drama Wednesday when they showed up to support picketing writers outside the fabled Paramount Studios lot.

Katherine Heigl, who plays Izzie Stevens, and T.R. Knight, who plays her on-screen love interest George O’Malley, were posing for pictures and giving interviews - when controversial former cast member Isaiah Washington showed up. Washington, who played Dr. Preston Burke, was fired from the show in June amid tension that began when he allegedly used a gay slur to refer to Knight and used the word again during a Golden Globes appearance.

December 13, 2007 by Julie Bonner

katherine-heigl-1.jpgAwesome news: The Golden Globe nominations are in and Grey’s Anatomy has been nominated for Best TV Drama Series and Katherine Heigl has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama.

Grey’s Anatomy is up against these dramas: Big Love, Damages, House, Mad Men and The Tudors.

Katherine Heigl is up against these ladies: Rose Byrne from Damages, Rachel Griffiths from Brothers & Sisters, Samantha Morton from Longford, Anna Paquin from Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee and Jaime Pressly from My Name Is Earl.

The Golden Globes ceremony airs January 13, 2008 on NBC. I’ll definitely be watching!

Do you think Grey’s and Katherine have a good chance at winning?

Patrick Dempsey Won’t Be Attending Katherine Heigl’s Wedding

December 11, 2007 by Julie Bonner

patrick-dempsey-blue-shirt.pngThat’s right, Patrick Dempsey declined and invitation to Katherine Heigl’s December 23rd wedding, but for good reason I believe. He has decided instead to spend the holidays with his wife and kids, which makes total sense to me! What a good husband and dad he is. Here’s what he told Entertainment Tonight regarding his Grey’s Anatomy co-star, “I am so happy for her. I’ve never seen her so happy. He’s a great guy, too, and they are a great couple.”

This is the first Christmas with his twin boys, Darby and Sullivan, so this is an exciting one for him and his wife. “It’s the first Christmas with the boys. They’ll be walking by then, so we’re all very excited.”

At least T.R. Knight will be at the wedding!
