ABC President Discusses Denny/Izzie Storyline
January 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
During the TCA Winter Press Tour, Steve McPherson, ABC Entertainment President, was asked to comment about the Izzie/Denny storyline. The viewers have not been very accomodating of this particular storyline, no matter how nice it is to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan back on the show.
But ABC’s exec head is standing by Shonda Rhimes’ vision:
“[Denny] is not a ghost, which you will learn,” he says. “I actually think when you get to the end of the season and you see everything she had in mind, it might not be your cup of tea, but I think you’ll be surprised at how insightful and smart that storyline itself is in terms of the dynamics it’s creating for the characters involved and where we end up with those characters at the end… The viewers will be the judge. That’s the good and the bad about this business. I think shows ebb and flow. And when you talk about long-term serialized dramas, you’re going to have some stuff that people don’t respond to.”
Michael Ausiello revealed a while back the major spoiler as to what exactly is going on with Izzie (and Denny). But that doesn’t seem to have helped with the view that the storyline sucks.
I am, however, optimistic that they’ll pull it off, and if they don’t, there’s always next season.
What do you think about it these days? Are you still against it or have you changed your mind? Or are you one of the few and proud that have loved it from the beginning?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Jimmy Kimmel Live
January 15, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Jeffrey Dean Morgan appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week. The two discuss life after death (on TV), the holidays, Brad Pitt, and a lot of randomness. He said that he got a new house and his dog fell down the stairs (oh noes!) But it sounds like the dog is okay.
If you haven’t gotten to see the clip from the talk show, here you go. It’s worth it!
T.R. Knight Might Not Leave Grey’s
January 6, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Kristin from E!Online had a couple of tidbits for us regarding Grey’s this week. The first is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan might “be a daddy to a secret son on a certain show.”
Considering he’s dead on Grey’s, Weeds and Supernatural I have to say this is one ghost that really gets around. Don’t give up on Grey’s quite yet, though. If you’re thinking that Denny somehow got Izzie pregnant from beyond the grave, we’re assured by Kristin that the show in question is not Grey’s Anatomy.
Phew.
Here’s another thing she let us know: T.R. Knight’s departure is not yet a done deal. In fact, there’s a chance that all will be forgotten and life will proceed as normal with George in place. I’m sure that’s really good news for all of you T.R./George fans out there. There’s still hope!
And if you haven’t yet scheduled your weekly reminder, Grey’s Anatomy returns all new to ABC this Thursday, January 8th at its usual time. It will be followed by a brand new episode of Private Practice at its newtime.

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: No Brain Tumor for Izzie, What’s Next for Callie
November 18, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Michael Ausiello has a few snippets of information concerning what’s to come on Grey’s Anatomy and of course at the top of the list of matters is this nutty (and going by your comments: lame, stupid, idiotic, unoriginal, etc) Izzie/Denny thing. I’m calling it a ‘thing’ because I’m not quite sure what else to call it.
Ausiello managed to get the official word from Shonda Rhimes herself, and this is what she has to say: “I think the love triangle with Denny, Izzie, and Alex is among the most interesting we’ve ever done. Watching the chemistry between Jeffrey and Katherine again has been really touching. I can’t wait for our viewers to see where we’re taking it. But what it won’t involve is Izzie having a brain tumor.”
How Long is Denny Back For?
November 14, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
So after last night’s episode, everyone wants to know how long Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will be back on Grey’s Anatomy for. I think I can say that most of us were rather surprised by how things ended there. And according to Ausiello, things are getting even more interesting. It turns out that Denny is Izzie’s “surprising suitor that series creator Shonda Rhimes teased over the summer.”
Seriously?!
Let’s rewind a bit. Back in August, Shonda told TV Guide the following: “Izzie’s got a love story, and it’s a big one. One that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit, one that required me to take a huge leap of faith in myself, one that is so secret that I have not told anyone. Not the writers, not anyone.”
And now we’ve got Denny haunting Izzie and though Ausiello doesn’t seem to know how long exactly Denny will be around for, he did say at least five episodes for Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s longer-than-expected return to the show. Where is this storyline going? No one really knows, but I’m sure we’ll be tuning in to find out. Ausiello seems to think the whole Izzie brain tumor rumor (heh, that’s fun to say) is likely to happen given what we know. But sometimes what we know doesn’t mean much of anything!
How do you feel about this whole Supernatural-ish turn of events? And where do you think it’s headed?

Grey’s Anatomy Discussion 5.07 “Rise Up”
November 6, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Grey’s Anatomy is once again all new tonight with episode 5.07 “Rise Up.”
So what can we look forward to tonight? Well, let’s see. From what we know already, Callie and Erica part ways and Erica never comes back. Bye, Brooke Smith. Some of us will miss you!We also know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan makes another appearance in the episode, and it sounds like Izzie isn’t going to have an easy time of things in this episode.
ABC tells us that in tonight’s episode:
- The Chief announces a solo surgery award
- Bailey gets to dispense more sage advice when Derek turns to her with his Meredith problems (apparently, Cristina is getting in the way of their relationship).
- And Erica discovers that one of her longtime patient shares a connection with one of the residents
As always, feel free to discuss the episode before, during and after!
Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Izzie’s Dark Past, Melissa George’s Contract, Mary McDonnell Guest Stars
October 29, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
The spoilers for Grey’s Anatomy keep pouring in, and here’s a few more, courtesy of Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly.
With regards to Ausiello’s very vague and cryptic clue regarding Denny’s return and Katherine Heigl’s possible departure at the end of the season (which Kristin from E! Online says won’t happen), we got this: “The exit primer I alluded to does not concern any kind of health crisis. Rather, it pertains to a very dark day in Izzie’s professional career that rears its ugly head again.”
A dark day in Izzie’s professional career? Is it something we’ve seen? Something brand new? So many possibilities there.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Returns to Grey’s Anatomy on Nov. 6
October 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Michael Ausiello has just revealed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be making another return to Grey’s Anatomy on the November 6 episode. Sources have confirmed that Denny will be making another earthly appearance on the show to have a heart-to-heart with Izzie.
The question is: What will Denny have to say this time?
Ausiello leaves us a vague and cryptic clue:
“Something happens in the episode that could easily set the stage for a Heigl departure at season’s end. I’m not saying it will; only that it could.”
Well, if that’s not ominous I don’t know what is. What are your theories?
