For those wondering what Justin Chambers has been up to during his off time from Grey’s Anatomy, here’s a photographic peek. He and his lovely wife Keisha hopped on over to Hawaii to relax in the sun.

Not a bad way to spend a vacation, I’d say! Not sure how long they were there, but from the photos it looks like they had a blast. Hopefully that means we’ll have a well-rested Alex at the start of season six.

Justin Chambers is making the promotion rounds. He was on Good Morning America and now then he dropped by The View to discuss life as a Grey’s Anatomy actor. The ladies bring up how Grey’s Anatomy fans are like Trekkies (really?) and talk a bit about his five kids. And briefly touch on the whole Izzie sleeping with the ghost of Denny storyline.

Kristen from E! Online has answered a few spoilery questions about what’s going on with Izzie and what’s coming up for Izzie and how all of the Izzie stuff will affect Alex.

It’s no spoiler that Izzie is sick. We’ve known this for a while and the show has been building up her illness over the past few months. We know that the possibility stands that Izzie might die at the end of it all as a means of letting Katherine Heigl out of the contract.

According to Kristin from E! Online, who ran into Katherine Heigl at the Peter Alexander boutique opening, the actress is happy with these season’s storylines. She (and by ’she’ I mean Kristin) also puts to rest any pesky rumors that Izzie might be killed off at the end of the season. Heigl told Kristin:

“There’s nothing I can reveal, but it’s been awesome. It’s been really exciting for me and really, really fun, satisfying work. I love Justin [Chambers]! How can you not love Justin? Sorry. He is just such a doll. I mean it’s weird, I’ve been working with all of these people for five years. They’re like my family. I mean, I see them actually more than my own family! We have so much fun together.”

Also it sounds like Izzie and Alex will be heating up the bedroom one of these days. So all of you Izzie/Alex ’shippers can bounce happily and excitedly in your chairs.

I’d mentioned that Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers would be attending a fundraiser sponsored by the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council of the Democratic Committe (GLLC) in Seattle, Washingon this past weekend to support Senator Obama’s campaign. I couldn’t be there unfortunately, but Grey’s Anatomy News reader Karen did get to go and she was gracious enough to send in her first person account to share with us here. Thanks, Karen!!

I mentioned this the other day, but in case you missed it, or maybe forgot: both Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers will be in Seattle, Washington this weekend to attend a fundraiser for the Barack Obama campaign. We already know that Kate Walsh is a big Obama supporter, and Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers are stepping out to show their own support for the presidential candidate. The good news for both Obama and Grey’s Anatomy fans is that you’re also invited.

The Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council of the Democratic National Committee cordially invites you to a night of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and political chatter with Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers. Proceeds go toward benefiting the Obama Victory Fund.

The event will be held in Seattle, Washington on August 16^th. If you think you’ve got a shot at making it, head on over here to get all of the details. A plethora of celebrities turned up at the 7^th Annual Butterfly Ball, and amongst the stars were Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley. The Butterfly Ball was held at a private residence in Los Angeles. Its purpose is to benefit Chrysalis, an organization that helps homeless men and women to find jobs and homes.

Here’s the happy couple looking happy and in love.

And hey, is that Justin Chambers behind them? Almost didn’t see him back there.

In an interview with People, Justin Chambers reveals the reasons for his having checked into the UCLA’s psych ward not long ago. The reason is a sleep disorder he’s had for a long time. In the interview he explains, “It’s a biological sleep disorder. Your mind keeps racing, and your body is tired. It wants to go to sleep, but it can’t.”

He revealed also that he’d been sleeping no more than an hour a week before he’d finally checked himself into the hospital.

I really hope that his time there helped him get some rest and maybe some treatment. Insomnia is no fun!
