Chandra Wilson to Direct ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Episode
July 7, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
The latest Ausiello TV doesn’t have much in the way of spoilers for season six, but it does have a really exciting piece of news: Chandra Wilson will be stepping behind the camera to direct an episode of Grey’s next season.
Which episode? No idea yet, and it doesn’t sound like all the details have been finalized.
All the same, this is pretty exciting. She’ll be the first of the series’ regulars to put on the director’s hat. So let’s hope it all goes wonderfully (and why wouldn’t it?) and that she gets to direct more in the future.
It’s unclear whether she’ll be both directing and acting in the episode, but I imagine we’ll probably see either a little less of her that episode or the regular amount. An episode without Bailey wouldn’t be right.
What do you think of Chandra directing?

Grey’s Anatomy Actors Cheer on Chandra Wilson in ‘Chicago’
June 12, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
I reported not that long ago that Chandra Wilson would be returning to the Broadway stage to take on the role of Matron Mama Morton in the hit musical Chicago. Well, the time has come! And fellow co-stars Sara Ramirez, James Pickens Jr. and T.R. Knight were in the audience on Monday to cheer her on. T.R. Knight brought boyfriend Mark Cornelsen along to the performance.
Speaking of the performance, it sounds like she did an outstanding job, though the actress herself seems mostly relieved that she got through it without messing up! “My 10-year-old daughter [Joy] said, ‘Mom just don’t mess up,’ ” said the three-time Emmy nominee. “That was the advice she gave me and so that’s what I took with me on stage and it seemed to have worked.”
And what did her Grey’s co-stars think?
“She was absolutely amazing,” Pickens told PEOPLE. “She was perfect and should be very proud of her performance. I had a great time watching her.”
I’m sure she’s going to be awesome during the entire run. For those wondering, you can catch Chandra Wilson in Chicago for a four-week stretch only. Her last performance will be Sunday, July 5. So if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, run run run!

Chandra Wilson didn’t manage to avoid the cameras during her lunch break on the set of Grey’s. She also made herself quite comfy! Love those slippers! These photos were taken during the filming of the wedding episode in downtown Los Angeles. With the cast and crew out and about in the fresh air, it was photo ops all around.

She’s so adorable!

Grey’s Anatomy Photos: Chandra Wilson After Jimmy Kimmel Taping
March 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Chandra Wilson took time out of her busy schedule to sign autographs for excited fans. She’d just finished her taping of an interview with Jimmy Kimmel (which aired on March 17). These photos were taken outside the El Capitan Theater in West Hollywood, CA.
I’m still trying to track down a video of the interview. I’ll update when I find it (send it my way if you find it before me!) In the meantime, enjoy the photos. She looks so elegant!

Chandra Wilson to Star in Broadway’s Chicago
March 11, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
I’ve just received most excellent news in my inbox. Chandra Wilson is headed back to Broadway!
This summer the Grey’s Anatomy star is going to be starring in CHICAGO as Matron Mama Morton. So if you missed her performance in Avenue Q or On the Town here’s your big chance to make up for it.
She’ll be on the Broadway stage from June 8-July 5 so run, don’t walk, to that ticket counter. The performance will take place at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).
As a Broadway geek this made me really giddy, and I’m currently trying to figure out if there’s any way I can make it.
Any of you out there think you’ll be going? I might have to live vicariously through you.

Chandra Wilson on the Ellen DeGeneres Show
January 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Chandra Wilson dropped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show last week for a quick interview. She reveals that unless she’s got scrubs on and is in front of the camera she can’t “pull out” Bailey. And her kids won’t let Bailey in the house. Haha!
Wilson also tells Ellen all about the soaps she loves to watch and about the TiVo Ellen gave her a year ago that’s still sitting in the box.
She’s so cute and loveable.
