We’ve got a few months of speculation to get through before the next season of Grey’s Anatomy rolls around. There’s been a lot of the discussion the past couple of weeks regarding the upcoming Grey’s Anatomy wedding during the 100th episode of the show. Shonda Rhimes has confirmed that there will be a wedding, but all spoiler sources remain quiet about who exactly the lucky couple will be. With all of this talk of people leaving Grey’s I started to wonder if there were any characters I simply couldn’t live without? I think any departure will certainly change the dynamic of the show, but I’m not sure if any would necessarily ruin it for me. If I had to choose, I’d say I would most miss Bailey, Callie and Cristina. But I love all of the characters and would hate to see any of them go (even those whose storylines aren’t as strong this season).

So, I’ll admit that I’m of the camp that thinks Mark and Callie should remain friends. They have amazing chemistry together, no doubt, and they’re incredibly fun to watch, but I believe most of that comes from them being each other’s support group. While I wouldn’t ever oppose them as a couple – that might be fun too – I’m really enjoying the friendship they have at the moment.

So we’ve had a few days to settle in with the news that T.R. Knight is more than likely leaving Grey’s Anatomy and taking George with him. I always like to respect actor’s wishes to follow their dreams and do what is best for them, but there’s also the effect that their character’s absence has on the show itself. I really do wish the best for T.R. but I’m wondering what the show will be like without George. He’s one of the original cast members and despite the lack of storyline this season, he’s still George. So now that we’ve had a couple of episodes with the new and otherworldly Izzie/Denny storyline, how do you feel about it?
I have to say, I don’t quite know what they’re thinking with this. I loved Izzie and Denny together, but part of the beauty of that relationship was the tragedy and desperation of it. Now they’re just making it weird. Is this just meant as another roadblock toward the ultimate relationship: Alex/Izzie? And if so, was this really the way to do it?
