If you’re familiar with either Greek or The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 then you’ll probably recognize Jesse Williams. The actor has been cast for a multi-episode arc in Grey’s Anatomy’s season 6. So if you’d been looking for another hottie around Seattle Grace: wish granted!

Unfortunately, specific details as to what his character is and what he’s going to be doing around the hospital are under lock and key for the moment.

The only thing we know so far is that he’s going to be a “confident new medican professional.” It’s unclear whether his character has the potential for a recurring role that might lead to something more permanent, or if he’s just going to show up for an episode or two and then vanish into the Bermuda Triangle-like parking lot of infinite mysteries.

If you can’t get enough of the actor, you can also look for him in the upcoming film The Cabin in the Woods, which Joss Whedon fans undoubtedly know all about (he co-wrote it).

Well, it looks like all of the mystery surrounding the stroller-shopping has been answered: Yesterday, Katherine Heigl hosted Ellen Pompeo’s baby shower at her home in Los Angeles. There were twenty-five guests at the party, including Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh and Eric Dane’s wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart. According to PEOPLE, the party was held in the backyard, beneath the merciful shade of umbrellas.

It’s also very likely that the baby – due in October – is going to be a girl, gauging by the vast array of pink-themed gifts. Pompeo registered for gifts at the Juvenile Shop in Sherman Oaks, and received gifts such as: a Sleep Sheep toy mobile, Sleepy Safari stacking toys, organic hooded towels and more.

According to an eye witness, “Ellen looked gorgeous in a white summer dress with her hair in a braided up-do. She seemed very excited to celebrate with her girlfriends.”

People also revealed that Ellen Pompeo spent the earlier part of the day hanging out with friend and fellow mother-to-be, Nicole Richie.

It sounds like Ellen had a much-deserved great time with her friends. As seen in the photo, her husband Chris Ivery came by to pick her (and the loads of gifts!) up afterwards.

For those of you who don’t follow Shonda Rhimes on Twitter - or for those of you that do, but missed this: The Grey’s Anatomy Executive Producer shared a picture of Patrick Dempsey on the set of the show via Twitpic. And so, if you missed it, here it is:

The caption got cut off by the 140-character restriction, but was meant to be a, “Hello!” from Dempsey himself and also a call for support for The Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing.

Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley were spotted in West Hollywood over the weekend shopping for a baby stroller at Bel Bambini. The happy couple was then spotted shopping for pastel-colored carpeting. All of this has raised a few eyebrows, leading people to wonder whether Katherine Heigl will be next in line for a maternity leave.

But it would seem a tad early for stroller shopping. Perhaps they’re shopping for gifts for Ellen Pompeo? Or maybe someone else entirely.

There’s been some … interesting … spoilers coming at us from over at E! Online. When asked for more info about the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy Kristin revealed that the show is getting a couple of hairy guest stars.

**Hairy spoilers ahead**

The list of guest stars for season 6 is likely to be an impressive one, but now we hear that it’s also going to be an unconventional one. As it happens, both a monkey and a bear have been cast for an upcoming episode of Grey’s. Yes, an actual monkey and an actual bear. At least, that’s the news so far.

It looks like the cast members – though it’s unclear which cast members, so perhaps all of them? – will be dealing with some furry animals at some point. What this means is anyone’s guess. Will the animals be patients? Will the cast randomly wander into the woods? Will they be visiting a zoo?

In case you missed it, here’s a promo for season 6’s premiere episode. It sort of picks up where things left off and we see everyone rushing around, trying to save both Izzie and George. It doesn’t tell us much, but it’s really nice to know that the premiere is getting much closer. It’s been a long summer.

Things are good for us spoiler fans these days. As the Grey’s Anatomy season 6 premiere draws closer, more and more spoilers are escaping from Shonda Rhimes’ super duper strong safe. And that means that we get more details to look forward to, or to, at least, anticipate.

If you’re allergic to spoiler dust, look away, my friends.

The latest spoilers have to do with Meredith and Derek. It seems fans have been speculating about what will happen with the couple next season and how Ellen Pompeo’s real-life pregnancy will impact the storylines on the show. Some people have gone as far as worrying that a break-up is imminent for the couple.

The good news from Ausiello is that no, they’re not breaking up. However, you should expect to see a lot less of Meredith toward the beginning of the season. The writers have been lightening up on Ellen Pompeo’s workload due to the fact that she’s, according to Krista Vernoff, “waddling around seven-months pregnant about to push a baby out of her body.”

She does go on to say, however, that Meredith and Derek continue to be “the focus of the series.” And that they “will always be a focus of the series.”

So, essentially, us MerDer fans will simply have to be patient and supportive through Ellen Pompeo’s pregnancy. While it means seeing a little less of Meredith for a few episodes, it’s reassuring to know that things between the characters are not headed toward doom and gloom. At least, not yet.

In an effort to get more people to watch both Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, ABC and Shondaland are planning some crossovers between the two shows. They’re banking that if they give us some connected storylines we’ll undoubtedly tune in. Already, we know that Chandra Wilson will be leaping over to Private Practice for a crossover episode.

Now the L.A. Times tells us that Alexie Gilmore (World’s Greatest Dad) is shooting an episode of Private Practice that will eventually send her over to Grey’s Anatomy. Details as to what will be involved in the Grey’s side of things remains hidden in the dark abyss wherein Shonda keeps all the stuff she doesn’t yet want us to know.

But, we do know the following regarding her storyline for Private Practice:

Gilmore will be playing a dying woman in need of a kidney transplant. Her sister is the only one that can give her this kidney. After this, her character will head on over to Grey’s to … well, to something.

• Callie’s relationship with Arizona progresses! For fans of this relationship (like me) this is good news. Let’s hope it progresses in a positive way.
• The Chief has some “interesting stuff” coming in season 6. According to James Pickens Jr. himself, “There’s a part of his personal life that viewers haven’t seen yet, and it’s going to be very intriguing, and they’re going to really like what’s going to happen.” Well, I’m intrigued already!
• In terms of George’s death, we’re told that everyone will react in a different manner.
• I’ve mentioned this before, but if you didn’t catch it, or forgot: Chandra Wilson is directing an episode later on this season. I’ll keep you posted. But you should know that she’s “already in ‘prep’” for her role in the director’s chair. Go Chandra!
• Fans of Owen and Cristina get to do the little yay-yay-happy dance as it sounds like this couple is moving ever closer. BUT! (There’s always a but). As mentioned in my last batch of spoilers , someone from Owen’s past comes to Seattle Grace at some point in the season and this will make things “tricky.” It is not, however, his ex-fiancee. But rather, someone “we didn’t expect.” His evil twin brother Hans Ramoray, perhaps.
