Grey’s Anatomy Discussion: Will you be watching season 6?

The news about season six of Grey’s Anatomy has been a bit extremist lately. On the one hand, there’s the really good news about who’s staying, and the really bad news about who’s leaving. So I’m sure for a lot of us, season six sounds bittersweet. For some, I’m sure, more bitter than sweet, and others more sweet than bitter, depending entirely on how you feel about the actors/characters involved.
I’d like to remind everyone that simply because an actor is leaving the show, that doesn’t mean their character’s fate is sealed. It’s entirely possible that George might survive and simply be written to leave the hospital. Then again, it’s also entirely possible that it’s bye bye forever.
Assuming you’re in the bitter camp, will you still be tuning into the season six premiere to see what happens? Or are you officially done with the show? Are there some of you sitting on the fence? Drop your thoughts about season six in the comments!

I’ve never been a huge fan of George. Over the course of the series, I’ve actually started to dislike his character. The Izzie/George situation really put me off and he really hasn’t been more than a footnote lately. So, I wouldn’t be sad to see George leave the show. The only characters I’ve truly missed are Dr. Burke and Denny (though the show cured me of that by stuffing him down our throats this past season).
To answer your question, yes, I’m going to watch season six. I still love enough of the characters (Alex, McDreamy, Bailey, Cristina – my favorite!) to see what happens in their lives.

and although george is one of the root characters of the show, i think they have written him off very well, and it feels like his purpose in the show is getting very limited. It’s sad to see him go, but i think the show will still be as awesome as it is without him .
I will continue to watch each episode. I will hate for George to leave I love the show just the way it is. Grey’s Anatomy is the best! Best Wishes to all the actors and the writers.

Of course I’ll be watching! Im going to really miss George but I have to see how they close on his character. Im also glad that Izzie lives, I can’t wait for season six
The whole cast to me is like family. George leaving was not going to be a surprise to me since the beginning of this season with the talks of him T.R. Knight leaving the show. I will still watch the show it’s one of my faves but I will miss George. He was a big impact on the show as well as the other characters. This is George, Georgie boy who has started with us from the first season. The one who consoles everyone, he is going to be truly missed from the show. Hey that’s life, and life moves on…I really wanna wish T. R. Knight the best of luck and Congrats on his new broadway show. I can’t wait until Season 6 starts and I can’t wait to purchase season 5 in sept. I’m a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy. I will have my tissue handy for the season premiere because I know it will be the saddest episode of the whole series, sorry Denny!
I would love to see Dr. Burke come back, I miss him…I miss Denny Duquette too I wished he would have been a regular on the show but I guess not.
It’s going to take a heck lot more than TR Knight leaving the show as much as I love the character George.
I love Grey’s Anatomy even through all of the good and bad that has been happening.
Grey’s Anatomy is the only TV series that can make me cry but there are also all of the feel good episodes that I just love.
I will still be watching. Although I am sad that TR Night is leaving the show, he was already almost absent by the end of season 5 (exept in the few last episodes) . I had time to get used to the show without Georges. Plus if I had to pick between Izzie and Georges, I would pick Izzie. I find she brings a little more to Grey’s anatomy. So i’m ok with how things turned out. Georges will be missed though!
I’m still holding out that this whole situation is a publicity stunt. Could it possibly be that Shonda has collaborated with the actors to try and fool everyone over what will actually happen after that wonderful cliffhanger?? That’s what I would like to keep thinking. After the MerDer cliffhanger at the end of the fourth season, many people speculated that Derek would die and his character would be off the show. The writers played with us then and I’m hoping (even if I know there’s little hope) that this is exactly what’s happening again.
I´ll never stop watching!

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and watch the beginning of the season, but I’m really bummed about George. And, honestly? I like Izzie– it’s Kathryn and her “I didn’t have any good material to work with” or “I’ll do it but it’s gonna cost you millions” attitude. She’s full of herself…. I’ll have to try hard to enjoy IZZIE and ignore KATHRYN!
I will still watch becuase it is physically impossiple for me not too. Although I will die a little inside every time I do watch. Everytime I watch I will just have to tell myself that he is “visiting his dad”. Oh god, just thinking about him not being on the show makes me cry
Well, i would pick izzie too , i guess that without Izzie, the show has no meaning although meredith, derek and all the others are quite excellent, i think that i’m gonna miss george, but don’t you feel that his exitmay be the cause of burke returning to the show.. i mean burke’s return will be wonderful, he’ll be so jealous of owen
I will be DVRing the show and watching only Sara Ramirez’s parts, I really do not care for any of the other story line. Honestly I hardly care for Callie’s story line either. I started watching the show when Sara joined the cast and will watch her until she decides to move on – which she should have done a year ago. She is far to talented to have 5 minutes of face time a week on what has become a mediocre show. It was once great but far too many sharks have been jumped and the writing has really gone down the tubes.
George was the moral compass of the show and I will miss the character. Izzie has always been useless in my book but of course she is pretty and blonde so big shock she lived.

I think the show is going from strength to strength and applaud the writers and actors all the way! I was knocked sideways by the twist at the end…didn’t have a clue and was left stunned for about half an hour afterwards. Had to watch the episode again to take it in properly!
I will definatly be watching season 6.
I love both characters and am sad to hear that TR Knight is leaving but still have hopes that he pulls through this tragedy and walks away leaving his return possible. After Burke and Addison left, I did find the show took a bit of a dip for the next 6 episodes or so but soon pulled back and maintained its excellence.
I guess I am going to wait for the UK airing for ages….lets hope time flies!
i really want patrick dempsey and ellen pompeo to get married(mereidth and derek) they belong together.
O’Malleyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I’ve been a great fan of him – you always need a goof in the season, who makes mistakes and gets bullied around. I really like him. I think that the whole Mer/Der breakup/taking it slow throughout season 4 was just.. a waste of time really. I don’t like how its all lesbianized now, with Callie’s hormones raging and shes kissing every other woman. Especially Hahn MAJOR EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
I will continue to watch the whow depending on how much screen time they give to Callie. I have been a SERIOUS Grey’s addict since day one, buying all dvd’s of every season and watching it over and over on my treadmill! I cringe when Callie comes on or I’m beyond bored. George should have stayed on as Izzies best friend. They could have done so much more with his character which I found adorable and funny. GET RID OF CALLIE!

I dont know if I’m going to watch season 6. Seasons 4 and 5 were pretty disillusioning. Most of the characters became completely psychotic…one episode they’d be in one frame of mind, the next would be the opposite. There needs to be some more consistency and fluidity in the writing. The best episodes are the ones written by Shonda herself…I personally think she’s stretching herself too thin with all these other shows. I wish she’d just focus on one strong show instead of two or three mediocre ones.
I’m going to miss George. I loved his character..he provided a pleasant balance to the darker characters on the show. Other than his fling with Izzie (which was unfathomably ridiculous), he has been one of the more consistent personalities on the show. If Izzie lives, I hope she simmers down, psychologically…she’s been a nutcase for way too long. I preferred Callie as a straight person…she seems way too uncomfortable as a lesbian. I definitely preferred her and Mark to Lexie and Mark. Plus, Arizona’s character is a total snoozer…reminds me too much of the obnoxiously peppy Sidney Harron. Sloan and Alex are turning into women…they’ve lost a lot of their sexy, masculine edge. We all know that the fake post-it wedding of Mer and Der is going to be next season’s point of contention as soon as Mer and Der have yet another fight…I’m so sick of their bipolar relationship. I guess the only thing I’d look forward to is Christina and Owen’s story. I kinda wish they’d bring Burke back, just to throw a monkey-wrench into things and see how Christina reacts to it. I also want to see what happens to Bailey and her husband…and the Chief and his wife…but if they try to drum up a romance between the Chief and Bailey, I’m done.
I wish they’d bring back Addison. Private Practice sucks…Addie needs to come back to Seattle Grace.
I love both George and Izzie as charecters… however Izzie is my fave charecter on the program and I’m glad to hear she will survive to make season six since Katherine Heigl was my first reason for ever watching the show… I was obsessed with Roswell as a teen and the fact that she was in it sold me before I’d seen a single episode lol. She is in it for far more reasons than the fact that she is a pretty blonde. She is a terrific actress… the fact that she is having so much sucess with the movies she is in shows that… none of the other cast in the show has had such sucess in either Grey’s or Roswell. Except perhaps Colin Hanks.
As for George, the actor started discussing leaving Greys at the begining of season 5… i think that might be why his charecter got so little screen time for the season… the cast, crew, etc and the audience had to get used to the program without George, also he now has other work and I really do wish him the very best in that.
Oh, I’ll be watching. But frankly I am INCREDIBLY disappointed that Shaunda would wright George off and let TJ go – whether he asked for it or not. I think the woman has a mean streak. I mean, hero or no hero, having George get DRAGGED BY A BUS????? That is just plain rude, and feels vindictive, given the situation this season. Of course, what can we expect from a writer who leaves us hanging for 3 months on one show not knowing which – if either – or two characters is alive or dead, and on the OTHER show – whether a pregnant woman is about to get her stomach sliced open by a psycho?!!! I know the Denny storyline PO’ed a lot of people. For me, it was a little strange, but I think Izzie truly belongs with Denny anyway, so … (which is why I wanted HER to die and George to LIVE). AND – let’s not forget…5 years of waiting, and what do MerDer supporters’ patience finally get when a wedding is promised: A POST-IT NOTE???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This woman needs her HEAD EXAMINED!!! So, yes, I’ll be watching, but it doesn’t mean I’m happy about everything I’ll be seeing. Guys, WHAT do we have to do to get her attention about some of her choices?
if will you be watching ga?i don’t known,because as a fan of the show .In the 5 season have seen in very few occasions our friend with the scapel…every time denny ,tha’s enought and then the starring is changed ,heigl become ellen ,and ellen doesn’t become heigl…so the title change in the six season . I’m sorry ,if the six season become stevenson’s anatomy i think this show ends for me…shonda prefers to satisfy the naughty heigl …see end george,he’s leaving.I vant to see merder , owen-cri,mark-lexie and karew with many women this i think happen
no matter what happens i will be watching season 6. we have a long time to wait as im in the uk and season 5 has just finished last week
i dont wat anyone to go but with george it wont be the same if they bring a different actor in to play him. Izzie i really want to live i like her charactor and she should have chance to live as a married lady properly, they make a brill couple, i knew they’ll end up married so i dont want it to end like that. cant wait for season 6. hurry it up please.

i’m not exactly crazy about george but he’s usually the one you can rely on for humanity. i like that about him. he adds humanity to the show. grey’s anatomy without george will be really awkward but let’s see how the writers will deal with it.
Of course I will watch season 6!!! I still LOVE grey’s anatomy and I’m gonna love it till it’s over. George has never been my favourite character, even thoug I think that I will miss him
I also miss Dr Burke… i love the couple Christina-Burke and I watched in the trailes that she is going to fall in love with somebody, so I hope that’s Burke!
The three characters I wish they will never leave are first Christna and Derek and then Alex. I looooove them<33333333333333

I need to address, after reading the other comments, that I am a HUGE Callie/Sarah Ramirez fan! She is amazing, in my book. I think that they should GIVE CALLIE MORE SCREEN TIME!!!! I also, did not like Denny’s storyline at all. Never liked him from the beginning and the ghost storyline was completely ridiculous. It went on way too long, though I see why they did it now with Izzie’s brain cancer. I have to agree with everyone else though that Burke should be brought back! He was amazing. A great addition to the cast. It was a shock to see him go and he never should have gone.

I loved the last half of season five! And as for George? Good Riddance! He is such a whinny baby and I have not liked him since the whole Izzy cheating thing. I will be watching season 6 and cant wait to see what happens between Christina and Major Hunt! They are my favorite. And can we please see less of the whole Lesbian kissing crap. I know the writers are all about diversity and human rights and stuff but seriously it is just so gross!
I think it will be the chief who feels like he is to blame because he is the one who let george leave early.

The new season is starting off poorly. The first two shows were nothing but chaos….from the constant biting between Seattle Grace employees and Mercy West(When will it stop? It’s annoying already) to the chaos of the apartment fire as a who dunnit. More chaos. What has happened to the story lines involving our beloved characters from the previous season? I enjoy the relationships, the love affairs, people relating to one another. This new season is starting off so badly that I’m considering not watching again….and this has been my favorite show on TV for years. Shondra, please put it back the way it was!!! I think you’ll be losing a lot of viewers unless the shows start to improve.
