Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Meredith/Thatcher/Chief
April 30, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
This week’s Ausiello didn’t bring huge amounts of spoilers in the way of Grey’s Anatomy. It did, however, bring some good news for Arizona fans: Jessica Capshaw is coming back next season! And not only that, she’s in the process of signing on to be a full-on series regular. Yay! We knew it was a possibility, and now it’s getting to be pretty near official.
Alas, we still don’t know if Izzie and/or George come back next season, and must continue the long, painful wait for answers.
But for you Katherine Heigl fans, there’s this from Sharon Lawrence (she who plays Izzie’s mom in tonight’s episode). I’m going to quote it in its entirety because it’s flattering and nice. On the subject of her first day on the set of Grey’s, she has this to say on the subject of Heigl:
“The first thing I did was barge in and hug her,” Lawrence explains with a laugh. “I could tell right away she was present and not guarded. We got to know each other as the day went on, because we would have time to talk about other things while we were waiting to work. It’s an odd thing we do for a living. Sometimes you have to get very close to somebody right away. That’s why I was so grateful for her openness and warmth, and it’s because of that that we were able to make physical and emotional choices that really conveyed the intimacy these two had. She is such an honest and open actress. There is not an untrue bone in her body as an actor, and it made my job so easy.”
Further proof that Katherine Heigl is awesome.
And now for some actual spoilers. These pertain to Meredith and her relationship with both Thatcher and the Chief.

For those of you that like to keep track of the songs airing in each of the episodes, here goes a list of songs from 5.20 “Sweet Surrender.”
For your convenience, I’m linking to each of the bands’ pages so you can check them out more carefully. The last three songs are available through iTunes. The Mostar Diving Club doesn’t show up in my iTunes search, but they do have a MySpace page.
- “Vagabonds and Clowns” – The Mostar Diving Club (This song played at the very beginning of the episode, during the opening montage).
- “Sweetheart” – Jont (Owen and George operate on their patient, and Bailey convinces the little girl’s dad to stay with her).
- “Summer Came When We Were Falling Out” – Shady Bard (Owen’s second therapy scene, Arizona and Bailey’s “heroic” scene).
- “Break Me Out” – The Rescues (Meredith in the dress at the end, and Meredith asking Lexie to be a bridesmaid).

TV Guide has posted their latest Mega Minute video, and part of it talks about this week’s Grey’s. Uh oh.
Meanwhile, he hints at a possible bump in the MerDer wedding planning road. Though if you’ve checked out these other spoilers, you already know the answer to the question he presents.

Grey’s Anatomy Wedding Registry and Site
April 28, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

If you’re scrambling around, trying to find a last minute wedding present for Meredith and Derek, you can relax. The bride and groom to be don’t want any fancy teapots or toaster ovens. In true doctor fashion, they just want you to help make a difference.
For that reason, the Grey’s Anatomy wedding registry has been set up to benefit the American Academy of Neurology, American Skin Association and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Fans are encouraged to make donations in lieu of gifts. Your money can help fund vital research into brain tumors, dementia, MS, Parkinson’s, autism, headache, strokes, Alzheimer’s, skin cancer, and hundreds of other conditions.
You can visit the official wedding registry page to find out how you can donate to each charity, and to read more about what each is about. No gift is too big or too small, and every penny can make a huge difference. So in celebration of our favorite TV couple, consider dropping in and making a donation to one or all of the listed charities.
The wedding registry is part of Meredith and Derek’s official wedding site. Maintained, of course, by wedding planner extraordinaire, Izzie Stevens.
