What’s Going On With T.R. Knight’s Departure?

If you’re wondering what’s going on lately with the whole T.R. Knight leaving Grey’s Anatomy deal … well, there’s still not a lot of concrete information to go on.
E!Online’s Kristin stated in her latest Spoiler Chat that nothing has yet been decided. And that when asked about it, ABC President Steve McPherson stated that “at this point” he has no reason to believe that T.R. won’t be back.
Honestly, with the amount of screen time George has seen this season, he may as well not be there at all! I mean, he had what … like, five lines last episode? He has zero storyline and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get one any time soon.
But hey, maybe they’re promising T.R. something better later on and he’ll stick around for that.
What do you think of how things are going with this? Should he stay or should he go? And do you miss him, or do you not care that George has rarely been seen on the show?

I’ve read that his storyline increases substantially when Izzie approaches him for help concerning her illness.
I think career wise TR is best off leaving. I would not really miss his character all that much. George started as an interesting character but now he is just everyone’s door mat….
I don’t think TR should leave the show… Although, I would like to see his character have a good story line. I would also like to see the character have more of a back bone! I agree with mdb, George has been everyone’s door mat lately, which I think is sad because he was such a huge part of the dynamic before. I hope they are able to work it out!
i do not believe t.r. should leave the show, i mean really, he wasn’t anything before grey’s anatomy. And now, to leave the 2nd most watched show on television? that’s crazy! besides, we all love georgie-he’s one of the main characters of the show!
I have a theory that part of what makes Patrick Dempsey so appealing as Derek Sheperd is that Patrick brings so much of himself to the character he portrays. I think the reason that George’s character leaves me cold is that the actor behind the character is neither a seasoned or sensitive actor. So as far as I’m concerned, the show would not lack anything by parting ways with TR Knight. His character is not so intricately linked to any of the other characters at this point. No TR, No Loss.

do like george…hopefully when Izzie gets sick they will bring him back into the picture..not as a boyfriend but as a friend..
I liked T.R. and loved how he interacted with the girls in the house. He needs a good storyline, either with a girlfriend, how about Arizona, or a Dr with a special interest job. Hate to see him go. He should stick around to become well known for a better career. George has been very funny in a lot of scenes.
I would hate to see him go because he is … George. There are quite a few charcters in this show now and not everyone can have a main storyline all the time. T.R. Knight has had some great ones in the past i.e. his (yuck) storyline with Izzy, his Dad dying, Callie marriage etc. For him to not want to continue with the show because his character is in the background right now is a little selfish, in my opinion. Look at Justin Chambers. JC has never really had a major storyline, or had the on screen time as any of the other actors but we do not hear things about him. I really like the character so I wish he would stay however if he doesn’t I will still keep on watching.
I haven’t liked what the writers did with TR’s character since that awful hook up with Izzie. They need to bring the old George back and give TR a really meaty storyline. He just needs to be appreciated by the series creator and the writers.
Keep George and get his friendship going with Izzie again!!! His character can be so funny and cute.
WE ABSOLUTELY ADORE T.R. KNIGHT!!!!!!! “GREY’S” WOULD INFINITELY MUCH “HEART” AND SUPERB ACTING IF T.R. KNIGHT WERE TO BE WRITTEN OUT OF THE SERIES. AS “GREY’S” ADDICTS, WE REALLY WOULD BE TOTALLY LET-DOWN AND DISHEARTENED WITH THE POWERS-THAT-BE-IN-CHARGE-OF-”GREY’S” IF THEY DROPPED T.R.KNIGHT/THE CHARACTER “GEORGE”!!!! TRULY, IT WOULD CUT THE HEART OUT OF THIS SPECIAL SERIES TO LOSE “GEORGE” OR T.R. KNIGHT; AS DEVOTED FANS, WE BEG ALL OF YOU NOT TO ALLOW “GREY’S” TO LET GO OF EITHER THE CHARACTER “GEORGE,” OR THE OSCAR-WORTHY ACTING SKILLS AND “PRESENCE” OF T.R. KNIGHT!!!!!!!!

It will be awful is he actually leaves, and it’s more than true and obvious he haven’t have a real storyline since a long while ago, I’m sure I’ll be upset about it too but still Sucks!!! I so wish he stays!!
