Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Callie and Erica

November 5, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

The National Arts Club Honors Lin-Manuel Miranda

By now we should’ve all heard that Brooke Smith got fired from Grey’s Anatomy abruptly and without much explanation. Shonda Rhimes has tried to smooth things over, ABC has tried to get its actors to smooth things over, but it’s pretty obvious there’s something rotten going on here.

Still, if you’re wondering how things end up for Callie and Erica come tomorrow’s episode, Michael Ausiello has a few more details about what’s to come.

*spoilers ahead*

According to one of his sources, Callica argue over Izzie and the whole heart-stealing mess and its lack of severity and the fight is so severe that apparently Callie “realizes she doesn’t like girls as much as Erica does.” (???!!!) And then Erica drives off and never comes back.

Wow. Just wow.

In positive news (or negative, depending on your P.O.V.) Ausiello beats down that ugly rumor that Sara Ramirez will be departing the show. She “isn’t going anywhere.”

So, first Callie was a lesbian (by the phrasing of Shonda’s statement) and now she’s not? She doesn’t like girls as much as she thought she did? Seriously? Seriously?!

  2. Ingrid Diaz says:

It’s all sorts of WTF, I think. Shonda’s use of the word “lesbian” I really think was meant to be interchangeable with “bisexual” cause sometimes people can’t tell the difference or even know that there is a difference. Probably figured “lesbian” would go down better with the public than “bisexual”. But I could be wrong. It just doesn’t look good.

Ausiello’s full spoiler is as follows:

“I’m going to give Shonda Rhimes the benefit of the doubt and assume she’s intentionally leaving Hahn’s exit ambiguous and, therefore, open to interpretation. Sort of like the Sopranos finale. Did Hahn get shot to death on the way to the parking garage? Did she pull a Thelma & Louise and drive her car off a cliff? Did the hospital’s automatic doors malfunction and decapitate her? Did she return to Weeds? The possibilities are endless. Personally, I’m leaning toward the Thelma & Louise scenario. According to one of my Grey’s moles, Callie and Erica have a relationship-severing blowout in tomorrow’s episode that starts with an argument over whether Izzie paid a big enough price for her role in Denny-gate, and ends with Callie realizing she doesn’t love girls as much as Erica does. Hey, people have killed themselves over less.”

  3. mdb says:

I am so over this I cannot tell you. I will watch tomorrow to see how Erica is written out. Then I hope that Sara will not be far behind so she can come back to NYC and do some real acting. I hope Ausiello is wrong on this one – goodness knows he was on the Callie Erica relationship when he reported it would be deepening in weeks to come. The only thing deepening is the pile of crap ABC & Shonda are handing us all.

  4. mdb says:

OH one other thought. Is this week is Brooke’s last show then she was fired in October so why wait until new to “break” the story and create such a fuss?

Can you say ratings ploy for sweeps? It is all about the money folks. All about the money.

  5. mdb says:

Sorry should be IF this week….

  6. georgeismymcdreamy says:

OMG!!! I’m so pissed about all of this. I can’t believe brooke is leaving and that they are making sarah’s character just shrug it off. It’s complete bullshit and demeaning to lesbians and homosexuals in general. ABC should be ashamed.

  7. Dorota says:

    It’s ridiculous.

  8. ILOVEELLENPOMPEO says:

wow thats really lame there should make her depature a little more like dramatic and fighting over izzie wtf is that all about??? this is just soo messed up!!! This show has a gay castmember so i dont really get it. lame just lame.

  9. ppsb says:

I think it’s awful to create such a great storyline that a lot of people can relate to and then just end it so abruptly. What a shame!

  10. Henna says:

Im just gonna say SERIOUSLY!! ABC and Shonda really did take a nosedive in my eyes, like the worldeconomics at the moment… Down down down DOWN! Seriously!! Stupid, just fricken Stupid!

  11. blondie says:

i’m glad she’s gone. that whole lesbian story line was freaking me out. callie and mcsteamy – there’s a story.

  12. Petrovich says:

There is only one thing to say about all this.

“It rubs the lotion on its skin, it does this whenever it’s told. It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again.”

  13. JLB says:

YEt again another positive, smart, adorable gay role bites the dust!
ABC are such cowards…another hit to the gay community, as is the whole discrimination of marriage.
    really. it is enough.
shame on you! this is so 18th century

  14. mbs says:

I think the wtiters should of let brooke stay on ,should of made it get more intense between erika and callie that would of made it more interesting or did they forget that this is 2008 to bad for greys they just might lose alot of viewers

  15. J says:

It does not mean anything that it is 2008. People think they can just do whatever, well did you people forget about God? God bless America and the rest of the world.

  16. J says:

I just don’t think Television is being appropriate these days… sry

  17. S (subscribed) says:

Being gay is not an option, God made us the way we are. And to honour him, we are obligated to stay true to ourselves and each other.

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”
