Katherine Heigl in The Ugly Truth

November 28, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Katherine Heigl’s The Ugly Truth hits theaters on April 3rd, and the trailer is already making the rounds on the Internets. So if you haven’t caught it yet, here you go:

Looks like your typical romantic comedy with the added bonus of having Katherine Heigl in it (assuming you like her). The trailer did make me chuckle a few times, so I’m hoping the movie proves to be enjoyable. Even though it wasn’t in the trailer, I believe there’s a hot air balloon scene at some point.

How does it look to you? Must see? Wait for DVD? Skip altogether?

Kristin at E! Online has a sneak peek for us from next week’s episode “All By Myself”. In this clip, we get to see a little more of Alex/Izzie and Izzie/Denny in all of its inexplicable glory.

Kristin poses three possible explanations for the Denny hauntings, and here are my thoughts on each:

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Mary McDonnell, Denny/Izzie, McSteamy/Lexie

November 27, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Autism Speaks 6th Annual Acts Of Love Celebration

Michael Ausiello had lots of spoilerish news this week with regards to Grey’s Anatomy. For all of you DennyGhost/Izzie haters, bad news. It looks like the storyline will be around until at least February. At which point it may or may not come to a halt. Perhaps they’re gauging audience reaction? I can only hope so.

Mary McDonnell will return to the show during the December 4th episode (5.10 “All By Myself”). This will mark the second of her three episode arc. Nothing specific to report about her storyline, only that she will be back.

Anyone else wondering whether or not the writers plan to go anywhere with the McSteamy/Lexie flirtations? More on that after the jump!

Grey’s Anatomy Poll: Izzie/Denny

November 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

So now that we’ve had a couple of episodes with the new and otherworldly Izzie/Denny storyline, how do you feel about it?

I have to say, I don’t quite know what they’re thinking with this. I loved Izzie and Denny together, but part of the beauty of that relationship was the tragedy and desperation of it. Now they’re just making it weird. Is this just meant as another roadblock toward the ultimate relationship: Alex/Izzie? And if so, was this really the way to do it?

What do you all think? Love it? Hate it?

Jennifer Westfeldt to Guest Star on Grey’s Anatomy

November 21, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

2008 New York Stage And Film Gala

Fans of Jennifer Westfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein) should be happy with this news: the actress has signed into a multi-episode arc with Grey’s Anatomy. If you’re groaning to yourself, thinking “oh noes not another doctor/intern at Seattle Grace”, you can relax; her character will be a patient. Unfortunately, that’s all Michael Ausiello has on her character at the moment, so that’s all we know.

Hard to get excited with such little news, but I like Jennifer Westfeldt so I’m excited to see her on Grey’s. Hopefully her appearance will be more noticeable than Janina Gavankar’s.

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: No Brain Tumor for Izzie, What’s Next for Callie

November 18, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Spike TV's 2008 Scream Awards - Arrivals

Michael Ausiello has a few snippets of information concerning what’s to come on Grey’s Anatomy and of course at the top of the list of matters is this nutty (and going by your comments: lame, stupid, idiotic, unoriginal, etc) Izzie/Denny thing. I’m calling it a ‘thing’ because I’m not quite sure what else to call it.

Ausiello managed to get the official word from Shonda Rhimes herself, and this is what she has to say: “I think the love triangle with Denny, Izzie, and Alex is among the most interesting we’ve ever done. Watching the chemistry between Jeffrey and Katherine again has been really touching. I can’t wait for our viewers to see where we’re taking it. But what it won’t involve is Izzie having a brain tumor.”

Janina Gavankar Leaves Grey’s Anatomy

November 18, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Global Green USA 3rd Annual Pre-Oscar Party - Arrivals

It looks like Brooke Smith wasn’t the only actress departing from Grey’s Anatomy recently, and I admit that hearing that Janina Gavankar had decided to exit Seattle Grace came as quite the shock to me. Mostly because I didn’t even notice she was there in the first place! I knew she’d been cast as an intern and I was waiting for her to appear, but I somehow missed her completely.

I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised, then, since that’s basically the reason that Gavankar had for moving on out. Indeed, the actress found that her role in the medical drama was far smaller than she’d expected. I’d say. I’m going to have to go back and watch all the episodes again to find her. Sort of like a game of Where’s Waldo?

I’m slightly disappointed that I didn’t even notice her character because I had actually been looking forward to her role. I guess there wasn’t much to get excited about though. Heh.

Am I the only blind one that totally missed her?

How Long is Denny Back For?

November 14, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

iphotos168885-Jeffrey-Dean-MorganSo after last night’s episode, everyone wants to know how long Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will be back on Grey’s Anatomy for. I think I can say that most of us were rather surprised by how things ended there. And according to Ausiello, things are getting even more interesting. It turns out that Denny is Izzie’s “surprising suitor that series creator Shonda Rhimes teased over the summer.”

Seriously?!

Let’s rewind a bit. Back in August, Shonda told TV Guide the following: “Izzie’s got a love story, and it’s a big one. One that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit, one that required me to take a huge leap of faith in myself, one that is so secret that I have not told anyone. Not the writers, not anyone.”

And now we’ve got Denny haunting Izzie and though Ausiello doesn’t seem to know how long exactly Denny will be around for, he did say at least five episodes for Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s longer-than-expected return to the show. Where is this storyline going? No one really knows, but I’m sure we’ll be tuning in to find out. Ausiello seems to think the whole Izzie brain tumor rumor (heh, that’s fun to say) is likely to happen given what we know. But sometimes what we know doesn’t mean much of anything!

How do you feel about this whole Supernatural-ish turn of events? And where do you think it’s headed?
