Janina Gavankar and Brandon Scott Join Grey’s Anatomy

Looks like Seattle Grace is getting even more crowded as news comes to us from Michael Ausiello that The L Word’s Janina Gavinkar and Cold Case’s Brandon Scott are joining the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. Sounds like Shonda Rhimes and Co. don’t think there’s enough characters already running around the hospital halls.
There’s no specifics as to how big the roles are going be for either character. I suppose it will depend entirely on how the actors do and how the audience responds.
Meanwhile, Ausiello also reports that Kevin McKidd (the latest doc on the block) will likely be joining the cast as a full-time regular before the end of the fifth season.
That’s a lot of characters to be juggling with! Let’s hope none of these new characters take away from the core cast.

Seriously?! (no pun intended) Kevin McKidd? As in… Vorenus from Rome? That guy is frakking amazing. I am SOOOOO excited!
Can they develop the storylines they have? Adding characters is not the answer to winning back the fans lost during the strike. Let’s get back to developing the original characters and have them grow and find out more of what makes them tick!

I miss the old Grey’s and adding new characters won’t really help…
besides, I don’t like most characters they’ve already added…

The cast is getting too big. I mean the writers can not concetrate on the couples already there on the show. Everybody is now getting bit parts.
Julz… I happen to like the character of Erica.
I’m glad Rose left. Lexie is just there, she is not really adding any interest to the show. I do like that army guy for Christina…I hope he sticks around a bit. We already have a host of new interns.
Brandon Scott is an excellent addition. He was amazing on Cold Case and will continue to be one of the hottest up and comers on the market. He could be the next Dr. Burke if they decide to go that direction, which would be an excellent idea. That is what the show is missing.
