‘Private Practice’ Set Damaged by Fire
August 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
ABC has reported that a fire broke around 1:30am last night at the set where Private Practice is filmed. Thankfully, no one was injured.
The fire has been deemed as ‘electrical’ and started on Stage 1 and according to a security guard, spread on to damage the “office-type set” from the show.
The extent of the damage is currently unknown, though it will likely make its way to the public soon. Let’s hope this doesn’t hurt the show! Mostly glad that no one was hurt.

Hey all, I know there were problems with the writers going on strike which is why there were repeat episodes of Grey’s Anatomy this season but I have to be honest, I can not be bothered to watch the new episodes now. I used to love it but nearing the end of last season I kept thinking ‘Geez, if I was Meredith I would have killed myself by now’. Bloody depressing. I didn’t want to watch the re-runs of the last season and I have no interest now in watching any of the new season (when it eventually starts).
On the plus side, I quite like the GA spinoff ‘Private Practice’ with Kate Walsh (aka Addison). Private Practice is a great show with great actors. I love Amy Brenneman from ‘Judging Amy’ who worked with Tim Daly’s mum Tyne Daly (Tyne played Amy’s mum in JA) and Taye Diggs from ‘Kevin Hill’ is sexy and brilliant! My only two constructive comments would be 1) don’t follow too much in the footsteps of Grey’s as it bordered on brutally depressing and just being crap; and 2) Please stop Addison from doing those stupid quirky mouth movements when she is trying to change her facial expression. Her eyes and eyebrows do the job but the half opened mouth movement just looks idiotic. Get rid of the quirky mouth moves Kate and the show will be superb!!! Oh, almost forgot to mention Chris (aka Dell). Dead funny!! Dell adds a unique element to the show. The little bit about whether or not “midwifery” was a real word was brilliant! Private Practice Writers – Keep up the good work!!
(P.S. Might be worth ditchin GA and stickin with PP. GA has lost its shelf life I’m afraid). Cheers!!
