Shonda Rhimes Discusses Callie/Hahn at TCA

Last week, during the Television Critics Association, Shonda Rhimes dished out some new information about the upcoming lesbian storyline in Grey’s Anatomy. Love it or hate it, it’s undoubtedly coming, and AfterEllen got the scoop on what’s to come next season for the lovely ladies.
Rhimes told reporters that they have a very “interesting, wonderful, funny way of laying out the story of Callie and Erica.” Which (thankfully) doesn’t seem to point in any way toward a pregnancy of any kind. Rhimes stated that the storyline would not be “typical.”
It also looks like Rhimes and the Grey’s Anatomy writers are interested in delving into the experience of figuring out that you’re into women when you’re at a later point in life, rather than when you’re a teenager for example.
Rhimes also revealed that they hadn’t originally planned the storyline, it had simply developed, and as it turns out, the Grey’s Anatomy crew is really excited about it. She pointed to the relationship between Sara Ramirez and Brooke Smith as an inspirational point toward the emergence of this storyline.
Specifically, she stated, “She and Erica together — Callie and Erica together — seemed to have a lot of interesting chemistry and dynamic. And we really did start them out as being friends, and it felt like there was something more there — the same kind of chemistry that I saw between, say, Christina and Burke, before Christina and Burke got together, [so] that I wanted to play it and see what happened with it.”
As we all know, Shonda Rhimes detests spoilers of any sort, so she wasn’t very forthcoming with the details of what’s to come exactly, though she did reveal that at the start of the new season they’d be picking up with Callie questioning what it means to kiss a girl and how she feels about it.
When asked about a potential pregnancy storyline, Rhimes was quick to assure us “that is not going to happen.”

~George will probably blame himself or something, Sloan will be defending them,
~ALex will be making jokes about it (like when callie and george got married he was like ” dude your Callie O’Malley) something like that will come from alex.
~I see christina being weirded out seeing tht her roommate is with someone she admires/fears/dislikes/likes i mean she told callie not to bring hahn over the house anymore.
~Maybe hahn and callie will move into the archfield eventually or something
~I see callies dad kicking georges ass at some point in season 5.
I have an overactive imagination i wish i worked behind the scenes at greys even as the person who changes the tires on the trailers it wouldnt matter.
I just love this show:) Me being a lesbian wanted to see this happen way before it ever happened. LOL!!! But I couldn’t figure out who I wanted to get together. LOL!!! In the beginning I thought I wanted Izzy to get with someone. LOL!!! But when I seen Callie dancing around in her panties in the storage room. I changed my mind. LOL!!! Callie has it going on. LOL!!! I was really glad that Dr Hahn made it away from Crossing Jordan, to make this all happen. LOL!!! Dr Hahn and Callie are very sexy together:) Can’t wait to see them get to 2nd base. LOL!!!! Or maybe 3rd. LOL!!!

I was just wondering if you ever considered, having a coroner as one of the doctors? If you have, I have got the woman for you. LOL!!! I would like to see Wynonna Judd (country music singer) play a part like that on Grey’s. Or just anything on Grey’s she is so cool. Maybe she could come on and do a concert to help build a wing on the hospital. I’m sure she could add some more drama and trama to the set. LOL!!! I am sooooooooo obessed with the show I can’t stop thinking about it. LOL!!! Since thursday I have watched it 3 times online. LOL!!! OMG!!! I love Callie and Erica together. Thank you so much for doing that. Makes me feel good to see those straigt women play the part of lesbians. I’m a lesbian and as you know, like speaks to like. I have been watching the show for 2 yrs and have loved every episode. Thank you so much for the love and caring you’ve put into the show. And thank you for the wonderful actors. They are the best on tv.
Writters!!!! I am just a little concerned. About what is going to happen if Callie keeps freaking out after she has been with Erica. I’m so affraid that Erica is going to give up. What is so weird is that Callie was the one that started everything and now after they are together she keeps walking away. Erica is a strong woman and she is putting herself out there and letting herself love. I am really affraid for her that she is going to get hurt. The way Erica was talking after the they where supposed to have had sex. Was so not like her, it took alot for her to say the things that she said, and to even cry like that. And Callie just walked out and left her. She should have got in bed and held her. Please keep it loving and tender. I’ve been in 3 lesbian relationships and I’de never just walk away when my lover was upset like that. If Callie really does love Erica she needs to get over herself and love her. She told Sloan that she wasn’t going to be with him anymore. Just be his friend, I hope she meant that. I’m kinda wondering if the Glaad people didn’t lead you all astray just a little. I know that Callie is still not so sure about everything. But after the last episode we know that they know what they are doing sexually. So she don’t need Sloan and she don’t need to experiment anymore. What is this now the 2nd or 3 rd time she has walked out on Erica and Erica not known what she was thinking or feeling. Please make this relationship, more than about sex. Let it be about love and tenderness. I just don’t want Callie looking like alot of men I’ve known and some butch woman. That all they care about is getting satisfied and screw there partner. I’m a little obessed with these 2. As I guess you can see. LOL!!! I love them they are both beautiful. I’m so nuts about them I have went to google and googled both of them and read and watched everything I could find and I’m not done. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve put in 8 to 10 hrs a night and early morning reading searching watching Brooke and Sara’s video’s. Oh and by the way that Sara can sing her ass off:)
