Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers Show Their Obama Support

July 31, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Detroit Pistons v Boston Celtics, Game 5

We already know that Kate Walsh is a big Obama supporter, and Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers are stepping out to show their own support for the presidential candidate. The good news for both Obama and Grey’s Anatomy fans is that you’re also invited.

The Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council of the Democratic National Committee cordially invites you to a night of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and political chatter with Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers. Proceeds go toward benefiting the Obama Victory Fund.

The event will be held in Seattle, Washington on August 16th. If you think you’ve got a shot at making it, head on over here to get all of the details. While tickets to an event like this are not in the single digits or even double digits, you might find something within a reasonable price range. It might be worth it if you’re  a huge supporter of both Obama and the show.

Have fun!

Patrick Dempsey Makes Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed Man List

July 31, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Patrick_dempsey_08_ncVanity Fair has published their list of Best Dressed Men and though our beloved McDreamy didn’t take the top spot this time around, he still found a cozy spot on the top five.

Patrick Dempsey fell short in the fashion department when it came to Djimon Hounsou, Daniel Craig, Alejandro Santo Domingo but he pulled ahead of Brad Pitt.

The full list is as follows:

1. Djimon Hounsou

2. Daniel Craig

3. Alejandro Santo Domingo

4. Patrick Dempsey

5. Brad Pitt

6. Luis Medina

7. Mickhail Baryshnikov

8. Rafael Medina

9. Johnny Depp

10. Jay-Z

I wonder what the list would look like if it were called “Best Smelling Man?”

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers from Shonda Rhimes

July 30, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

2008 Summer TCA Tour - Day 10

E! Online caught up with Shonda Rhimes, and it sounds like the Executive Producer was in a chatty mood! Thank goodness. She revealed all sorts of information about the upcoming season. Nothing too fascinating – this is Shonda we’re talking about, hater of all things spoilerish – but enough to keep us going for another day or two.

According to Rhimes, the focus of season five will be on our favorite ex-interns (George, Izzie, Cristina, Alex, and Meredith). There’s also going to be a lot of time dedicated to Mark, Derek, Callie, and Erica.

Hmm. That’s almost everyone!

But let’s get specific.

(Click on the jump to get the latest spoilers on MerDer, Callie/Hahn, Izzie/Alex, and Kevin McKidd’s role)

Brooke Smith Talks About Season 5 of Grey’s Anatomy

July 30, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Disney And ABC's "TCA - All Star Party"

Michael Ausiello interviewed Brooke Smith and asked her to spill some news about what’s to come in season 5. Brooke Smith revealed that the season premiere has already undergone about three rewrites, and so it’s hard to say what’s really going to happen. She did use the therm ‘gay panic’ to describe her character’s reaction to the Callie kiss. They also discussed the chances that ABC would suffer their own rendition of ‘gay panic’ and pull the storyline from the show. They both agreed that they hoped it wouldn’t happen.

In her infinte loveliness, Brooke Smith also praised Sara Ramirez, boasting about her beautiful singing voice (which if you haven’t heard, you really should!) and how gorgeous Sara is.

Other than that, there’s not a lot we don’t already know, but it’s a great interview anyway and well worth checking out! I couldn’t get the embed to work, but you can watch it at EW.

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Lexie reaches out to McSteamy

July 30, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

2005 Teen Choice Awards - Arrivals

Spoilers are slim, my friends, but Michael Ausiello has taken pity on us poor mortals and thrown a few crumbs of information our way.

In his latest Ask Ausiello article, he revealed that after Lexie’s big smooch with George in the season finale, she turns to McSteamy (of all people) for advice.

When did McSteamy become the go-to guy for relationship advice? Did news of his matchmaking skills spread throughout Seattle Grace? I wonder if that will get him any bonus points with the nurses.

More importantly, how invested are you in the Lexie/George relationship, and where do you think that’s going to go – if anywhere?

Grey’s Anatomy Poll: What do you think of Callie/Erica?

July 29, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

We’ve talked a lot about the relationship between Callie and Erica, which began in last few episodes of season 4 and culminated with a kiss in the season finale. Spoilers and information regarding season 5 point strongly to the fact that the relationship will continue on next season, and while I’m a huge supporter of the storyline, I know that public opinion varies strongly on the topic.

So where do you fall in the spectrum of opinions regarding this particular relationship?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Talks Watchmen at Comic Con

July 29, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

As some of you may know, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be starring in the upcoming Watchmen movie. JDM was present last week at Comic Con and got pulled into a bunch of different interviews about the upcoming film. So for those who can’t get enough of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, check out this interview with the actor.

And if you haven’t yet seen the Watchmen trailer, it’s worth the time. It looks pretty awesome, even if you’re not a big fan of comics.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks particularly badass in his role of The Comedian (Edward Blake).

Katherine Heigl Wants to Battle Her Vices

July 28, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball - Arrivals

It sounds like Katherine Heigl is looking to return to her religious ways. She recently told the Daily Mail that she’s “not as disciplined” as she used to be. She continued by saying, “I hope to find my way back as I get older and a little less selfish. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve just got very lazy about it. I satisfy my vices instead of fighting them.”

If she returns to her Mormon roots, Heigl will have to give up smoking and drinking, which sound like the vices she meant in her comment. Sounds like a great thing for her if she does quit, regardless of religion. Sounds like it’s going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to kick the smoking, give up the drinking, and avoid swearing. But she sounds like the type of person determined enough to pull it off.

Best of luck!

Grey’s Anatomy Season 5 Promo

July 23, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Grey’s Anatomy will be returning to our screens on Thursday, September 25th at its usual time and place. We can start our countdowns, though it still seems like an incredibly long time from now.

The good news is that ABC has released a new promo for season 5 to tide us over a little bit, so without further ado, here it is.

Can’t wait!

Edit: The video shows clips from back in season 4 unfortunately, but at least ABC has started promoting the date. Hopefully we’ll see some actual footage from season 5 soon.

Sara Ramirez Nominated for ALMA 2008 Award

July 23, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

Sara_ramirez_01_ncThe nominations for the 2008 ALMA Awards are in, and Sara Ramirez is nominated in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Drama Television Series.

Other nominees in the category include:

Valerie Cruz – The Dresden Files

Cote de Pablo – NCIS

Roselyn Sanchez – Without A Trace

Sara Ramirez was also nominated last year in the category of Outstanding Actress – Television Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie. Looks like they’ve rearranged the categories a little bit. She went up against America Ferrera from Ugly Betty, Constance Marie from George Lopez, and Alexa Vega from Walkout. Unsurprisingly, America Ferrera took the prize in 2007.

It would be great to see Sara Ramirez take home the prize this year.

This year’s award ceremony will air September 12th on ABC, and will be hosted by none other than Eva Longoria Parker.

For more information about the award ceremony, please visit www.almaawards.com.
