Chandra Wilson Named 2008 Lee National Denim Day Ambassador
As part of the United States’ largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer, Chandra Wilson and Private Practice’s Tim Daly have been named this year’s Lee National Denim Day Ambassadors. The two actors will appear in a public service campaign encouraging viewers to slap on their favorite pair of jeans and make a simple $5 donation to the Women’s Cancer Programs.
Both actors speak strongly and passionately about their friends’ and family’s battle with breast cancer. All funds raised during this campaign will go toward breast cancer treatment and early detection research, as well as support of the advocacy work of the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
“I’m proud to be an ambassador for Lee National Denim Day because cancer has struck so many people in my immediate family,” said Wilson. “Being part of this campaign gives me a way to fight back by funding research. Anything I can do to help prevent others from this experience is a cause I am honored to be a part of.”
The blue jean event will occur on October 3rd and you can sign up for Denim Day 2008 already by visiting Denim Day or by picking up the phone and dialing 1–800–521–5533. You’ll receive a participation kit that includes educational materials and supplies.
If you sign up before June 13th you’ll be eligible to win one of 100 free Denim Day totes.

i’m so glad when the actors give back to actual worthy medical causes. my friend works at abc and said there’s a new real life medical drama airing this summer with young, real residents and real cases…hmmm..
