Another Hollywood Strike Is Brewing
June 26, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
The possibility of another strike is in the air, and Hollywood is prepairing for the worst. The deadline for the negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) is on the horizon, and this could mean difficult waters for those involved in the process.
On July 8th, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) will vote on whether they want to establish a new contract with AMPTP, which will determine how SAG looks at its own contract. At the moment, SAG is trying to get AFTRA to vote no and Grey’s Anatomy’s own Sandra Oh is on their side.
Hollywood is still recuperating from the writer’s strike, which lasted far longer than anyone anticipated. Ratings for Grey’s Anatomy – and many other shows - dropped significantly since its return to the air and another strike is certain to not help matters at all. Let’s hope SAG and AMPTP manage some friendly negotiations and a strike doesn’t come to pass.
As of now, there’s little else to go on, as both SAG and AFTRA are keeping silent on their negotiation strategies, but I’m sure we’ll understand the nature and extent of their complaints in due time.

Katherine Heigl Hates Her Forehead
June 26, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Katherine Heigl apparently has huge issues with the way her forehead looks. So much so, in fact, that she’s pondered “surgically lowering her hairline.” It’s definitely true that no one is ever truly happy with the way they look. I mean, Katherine Heigl is men’s most desired woman, and even she has body issues.
Her insecurities have persisted since childhood, when she was teased about her high forehead and called “Katherine High-Head” by kids. Guess she’s not over that yet.
Let’s hope she doesn’t bother with surgery. She’s beautiful!

Grey’s Anatomy Poll: Who Will Be Pregnant?
June 25, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Michael Ausiello dropped a bit of a bomb on us recently with his assertion that a pregnancy was potentially in the works for season five of Grey’s Anatomy. He didn’t tell us who it would be, but he did hint that it would be one of the ladies involved in one of the steamy kisses at the end of the finale. That doesn’t narrow the list down entirely, but it does let us focus on some likely candidates.
My money is on Callie. It seems television producers like to stick pregnancy alongside lesbian storylines to - I guess - water them down and desexualize the relationship. It won’t be the first time this happened and it likely won’t be the last. Of course, that’s just my opinion and it could be someone else entirely. The chief’s wife, for example. Though she might be too old. Then again, that’s unlikely to stop them from writing it anyway. I doubt it will be Izzie or Meredith. I don’t think Hahn’s had sex with anyone.
So, what do you think? Assuming it’s true, who’s your pick?
Katherine Heigl: AskMen’s Most Desirable Woman
June 25, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
AskMen.com recently ran their list of most desirable women, and it looks like the Grey’s Anatomy hottie is men’s top choice. Indeed, Katherine Heigl earned the number one spot on the list, besting out a plethora of other beautiful women such as: Alessandra Ambrosio, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, and many others.
I suppose no matter what you think of her as a person - love her, hate her, feel indiferent towards her – her beauty is still undeniable. Sorry, guys, she’s still taken!

Katherine Heigl Isn’t Leaving Grey’s Anatomy
June 25, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
It doesn’t look like Katherine Heigl is planning to leave Grey’s Anatomy any time soon, according to sources. There’s been a lot speculation about Katherine Heigl’s future plans and whether or not her recent Emmy comments have anything to do with a desire to get out of her contract.
Well, if her plans are to leave the show, it doesn’t look like she’ll be exiting in the near future. Life & Style magazine caught up with the actress at a Josh Kelley performance in LA, and when asked if she had plans to return to Grey’s Anatomy Heigl stated, “Of course, absolutely. Those people are like my family.”
Of course, that doesn’t tell us for certain that Heigl has no plans to get out Grey’s Anatomy as soon as she can, only that she will be coming back next season. So what’s to happen if Grey’s Anatomy loses Izzie? Well, apparently, the show’s producers already have a back up plan in place: “They already have a wish list of who can fill the void,” says an insider. “They will introduce a new, intense blond bombshell who will get people talking about the show like they used to.”
Chandra Wilson Nominated for BET 2008 Award
June 25, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
The Grey’s Anatomy actors are very good at getting themselves nominated for things. This year Chandra Wilson was nominated for a BET Award in the category of Best Actress, alongside Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, Angela Bassett, and Halle Berry. Unfortunately, Chandra Wilson didn’t win. Halle Berry took the prize. But it’s still an honor to be nominated and Chandra Wilson is entirely deserving of the recognition.
So congratulations, Chandra! Here’s to another nomination (and hopeful win!) next year.

Some Grey’s Anatomy Questions Answered
June 20, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello answered a couple of – relatively minor, but still relevant – questions regarding Grey’s Anatomy in his last installment of Ask Ausiello.
When asked what the “major” kiss from the season finale was supposed to be, Ausiello responded that it was most likely the big MerDer smooch at the end. Though as most of us concluded: that was hardly unexpected. I love MerDer as much as the next person, but it was all a little disappointing after all of the kissing hype.
Ausiello was also asked about the number of episodes Grey’s Anatomy would tally up next season. According to his sources the total will be around 24 episodes for season five. The person that asked the question said there was a Patrick Dempsey interview in which he said there would be 30–34 episodes. Has anyone seen that interview? Send it my way if you do. I’ve not come across it yet. Regardless, I doubt very much it will be anything in the 30s range, as nice as that would be. Ausiello’s 24 sounds far more likely.

After a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show, ex-Grey’s Anatomy and now Private Practice star Kate Walsh took a moment to sign some autographs and meet with fans outside the studio. A devoted fan was gracious enough to upload the video of it all so we can pretend we were there.

Isaiah Washington and Kate Walsh Comment on Katherine Heigl’s Statements
June 18, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Ex-Grey’s Anatomy stars, Kate Walsh and Isaiah Washington were asked about their thoughts regarding Katherine Heigl’s recent no-Emmy decision and her comments regarding the writers. Their responses were pretty generic and they boiled down to … well absolutely nothing concrete. Isaiah Washington says he understands “both sides” and Kate Walsh loves “going to work every day.” It’s pretty clear neither wanted to say too much.
I thought it was rather interesting that Washington said that he wants to “help out” in any way he can and that he’s “open to it.” Whatever “it” is. Does that mean he’s open to taking Katherine Heigl’s spot if she gets written off the show? Heh.
