Grey’s Anatomy Receives Lowest Ratings Ever

by Ingrid Diaz on April 28th, 2008

ThumbdownIn a surprising turn, Grey’s Anatomy earned its lowest first-run rating ever this past Thursday evening – 16 million viewers, 6.3 rating/15 share among adults 18-49. But regardless, it still beat out its competition, becoming the highest-rated scripted show since February. That speaks highly of the sad state of television these days. What happened?

ABC wasn’t the only network to see huge drops in their ratings. CBS and NBC hit all time lows as well, and FOX came in fourth.

Did people forget about television?

It was a good episode, but not great. The whole contest thing was pretty annoying. It doesn’t surprise me ratings were down.

I think people just had to adapt to life without their favorite TV shows & possibly realized it was a waste of time. I didn’t even watch the episode & I’m a big fan. I have other commitments at the moment, but I will get around to watching it… Eventually!!

I think it was just okay. There was too much surgical stuff going on with the gross intestines story line….ewww!! I was hoping to see more with MerDer and LESS with that bad bad Rose woman. MerDer need to hurry up and make up fast! We all know they are meant to be together. :-)

It’s probably because for some reason everyone put all of their good shows on Thursday nights. Now people are having to choose between the shows they like rather than the stations spreadin them out. Grey’s Anatomy is on at the same time as the Office? My boyfriend and I both love the Office, but I’m the only one who loves Grey’s so…Guess what we watch.

Ever since Burke left, I have totally abandoned the show, except for the FIRST post-Burke episode to see what direction the show would be going in? ABC could have handled that whole nasty situation better. The sense of unfairness, and the sense of “screw the viewers, WE ( ABC ) knows best” attitude is finally coming home to roost? The chemistry between Burke and Christine added a “debth” and a balance that is now absent from the show. How much “McDreamy”, “McSteamy” , “Merideth” can one take? Kate Walsh’s character ( Addison ) was also moved out too soon as well. Seems like most current Greys fans are in denial… ABC “Messed with It”, and look at the results.

Correction: Dr. Christina Yang, NOT “Christine”. Sorry…
