- Six weeks after Derek and Meredith ended their relationship and Derek began dating Rose, Meredith and her fellow residents, Alex, Izzie and Cristina, compete in a surgical contest, with Bailey serving as judge. Meanwhile interns George and Lexie adjust to their new, squalid apartment, and Callie finds a friend in her roommate Cristina’s nemesis, Erica Hahn. Source: ABC
- “When we come back, we’ll have leapt ahead five or six weeks in time,” creator Shonda Rhimes says. “It’s our way of acknowledging the bump caused by the strike. But it’ll be very clear from the first moment what has transpired. You’ll see where things stand with Derek and Meredith and Rose. You’ll see where George is living, and in the first episode all the residents will be involved in a high-stakes surgical contest — definitely not something the chief would condone.” Old relationships will become new again, some people you thought would never get together will, and there are going to be some interesting outside influences,” Rhimes promises. George and Izzie have “put it to bed for the night. They’ve left it at the idea that it’s not necessarily about the bad sex as it is the bad timing. This all sounds pretty entertaining with the exception of Bailey being the judge of the contest. This contest is something Bailey would have busted them for before, and rightfully so, up until last season. This just makes no sense to me

I agree Cathy - Bailey is a no-nonsense kind of gal! I just really want this whole drama with Meredith and Derek to end. Either stay together or don’t - but let’s move on already!!

exactly!! my friends were telling me that they love the drama between meredith and derek and i was like “are you serious?” (no pun intended) not saying that i like rose but still no more drama!

lol isn’t the purpose of this whole tv drama thing meant to be dramatic? put it this way if there was no drama in grey’s anatomy or the tension n drama between derek n meredith we wouldn’t watch it would we? the drama and all that jazz puts us on the edge of our seats every week so we wanna watch more!

Why not give Rose a chance? Everyone hated Addison at first and now everyone loves her and wants her back on Grey’s. I can’t stan Mer/Der. The writers had it right when they broke up. Next time they break up stop the break up sex and sex and mockery. Just move on. Let Derek be happy with Rose. To bad, it couldn’t be with Addison.
