T.R. Knight Speaks at GLAAD Media Awards
April 28, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

T.R. Knight spoke at the GLAAD Media Awards this past Saturday, bringing a serious note to the event. The subject of his speech centered around the murder of teens Lawrence King and Sammie Williams Jr., both of whom were killed allegedly for being gay. Knight also discussed the subject of Oklahoma state representative Sally Kern, whose homophobic views have been the subject of much criticism. Sally Kern compared gays to terrorists and blamed the “homosexual agenda” for “destroying this nation.”
“I am realizing more and more how privileged I am to be able to use my voice to support an organization like GLAAD,” Knight said. “I will continue to do so until the Sally Kerns are taught the real teachings of Jesus Christ.”
Last month, T.R. Knight, alongside others like Portia de Rossi and Janet Jackson, filmed a PSA for the Logo Channel in an effort to promote tolerance. You can watch it here, if you hadn’t yet seen it.

Grey’s Anatomy Receives Lowest Ratings Ever
April 28, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
In a surprising turn, Grey’s Anatomy earned its lowest first-run rating ever this past Thursday evening – 16 million viewers, 6.3 rating/15 share among adults 18-49. But regardless, it still beat out its competition, becoming the highest-rated scripted show since February. That speaks highly of the sad state of television these days. What happened?
ABC wasn’t the only network to see huge drops in their ratings. CBS and NBC hit all time lows as well, and FOX came in fourth.
Did people forget about television?

Grey’s Anatomy Poll: How did you feel about 4.12?
April 27, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Well, at long last, Grey’s Anatomy is back in the swing of things and we got to experience the first of five new episodes a couple of nights ago. So my question is: how did you feel about it? Did you like it? Love it? Hate it?
And as always, feel free to discuss why!
Grey’s Anatomy Discussion: Callie and Dr. Hahn … a Couple?
April 25, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Parts of the Internet are buzzing about the … shall we say, suggestiveness, of Callie and Hahn in last night’s episode, but far more interesting is the question Callie poses to Addison in next week’s episode: “You want to know if Erica and I are a couple?”
I’m fairly certain that all of this Callie/Hahn hype will lead absolutely nowhere, though some people speculate that it’s a ploy to sneak another potential sapphic pair into the mix: Cristina and Hahn.
We discussed the possibility of this a while back, given that Brooke Smith and Sandra Oh played a lesbian couple in an off-Broadway play and thought it might be fun to roll that lady lovin’ over to Grey’s Anatomy. But it seemed like the Grey’s Anatomy creators had other ideas. Hahn has been on McSteamy’s radar for a while and spoilers point in the direction of that couple. But who knows.
There was always the possibility that one of the Grey’s Anatomy characters would turn out bi or gay as rumored many moons ago. Grey’s Anatomy has long been honored for being gay-friendly. But are they willing to go the extra mile? And more importantly, how would you feel about it?
Personally, I’m all for it. Bring it on.

Grey’s Anatomy News Bites: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo
April 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Today is an exciting day for Grey’s Anatomy fans: it’s the return of our favorite show! Yay! I thought this day would never come. But since the premiere of “Where the Wild Things Are” is still a few (interminable) hours away, here’s a couple of news bites to keep you entertained.
- Patrick Dempsey is featured in this Sunday’s issue of Parade, and he talks a bit about Eric Dane’s pecs. Dempsey says he’s got “pec envy” because McSteamy is in “perfect shape.” I’m pretty sure the ladies out there love him just the way he is. Via | Yahoo!
- Ellen Pompeo was seen at an after-party for Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton in the arms of Lil’ Kim. Oh fine, nothing as scandalous as all that. But they were photographed together, looking fabulous. Check out the picture evidence.
Check out more news bites you may have missed. And don’t forget to tune in to tonight’s episode!

T.R. Knight Signs On For National Day of Silence
April 24, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz
Grey’s Anatomy’s T.R. Knight has signed on to participate in this year’s National Day of Silence ceremony. The event will be held at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Los Angeles, and is being sponsored by GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network).
For those of you who don’t know much about National Day of Silence, the annual event began twelve years ago at the University of Virginia, when a group of students decided to call attention to anti-LGBT harrassment occuring in schools. This year, the day of silence falls on April 25, 2008 (tomorrow), and as always, is marked by students and people around of the nation taking vows of silence.
This year’s event is dedicated to Lawrence King, the 15–year-old boy who was shot to death by a fellow student for being gay.
Also participating in the event is talk-show host Larry King, who took the time to film the following PSA:
