Rumor Mill: Grey’s Anatomy Will Resume Production in March

Let us all breathe out a collective sigh of relief at this great news: Grey’s Anatomy will be resuming production in early March thanks to a tentative agreement between the writers and the Hollywood big shots.

The key word is of course “tentative” and it’s looking a lot like more of a rumor rather than a definite. However! If these rumors prove true, then we can expect new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy as early as April!

Similar plans would also affect shows like Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty, but newer shows will be on hiatus until the fall.

Best news ever, if only it was official.

Just as a note, the strike is NOT over. The president of the WGAW and the president of the WGAE issued the following letter yesterday:

To Our Fellow Members,

While fully mindful of the continuing media blackout, we write you to address the rumors and reports that undoubtedly you have been hearing.

The facts: we are still in talks and do not yet have a contract. When and if a tentative agreement is reached, the first thing we will do is alert our membership with an e-mail message. Until then, please disregard rumors about either the existence of an agreement or its terms.

Until we have reached an agreement with the AMPTP, it is essential that we continue to show our resolve, solidarity, and strength.

Picketing will resume on Monday. Our leverage at the bargaining table is directly affected by your commitment to our cause. Please continue to show your support on the line. We are all in this together.
