Grey’s Anatomy Filming Schedule Altered Due to Strike

So apparently, T.R. Knight, Katherine Heigl, and Sandra Oh have gone on strike officially which means that episode eleven might be in jeopardy. Only ten episodes of the series has been filmed so far, and it’s looking like the eleventh episode might not make it to the screen any time soon, though the studio is hoping to finish filiming it this week.
Shonda Rhimes has also walked out.
As a result, we’re going to have to change our calendars a bit. Episode number 9, “Crash Into Me,” was originally set to air in two consecutive parts, one week after the other. Part one will still be airing on November 22nd, but there will be no part two on November 29th. Instead, there will be a rerun of the season four premiere.
That means that the second part will be airing on December 6th. If the 11th episode doesn’t get filmed in time, that might be it for Grey’s Anatomy until the strike is resolved.
Let’s hope this mess gets resolved soon!

I don’t understand why they’re splitting Episode 9 if it has already been filmed…

To answer the above question, it’s probably just to make the season appear to be longer and give them more time to [try and] shoot the other episodes.
And while I support the writers 100%, I really wish this would end. But good T.R., Sandra and Katherine. It’s nice to see other actors/actresses supporting the writers, too. All we can do, it seems, is hope. I’m gonna be lonely on Thursday nights without my new GA eppi’s to cuddle up to.

I can sympathize with the writers but I sure hope the strike ends soon- I can’t live without my weekly Greys!! I think its awesome that the cast is out supporting the writers during the strike though- good for them!

Does anyone wonder if the actors had a motive for going on strike with the writers? Maybe so they may get bigger parts?
