Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers for 4×02 “Love/Addiction”
Only a few hours to go before the second episode of season 4. There 
were a lot of mixed feelings about the first episode. Some people loved it, some people hated it, some people felt unsure about many things. But it seems like we’re all still watching.
Tonight’s episode is called “Love/Addiction” and you can find some known spoilers after the cut.
- new 10/03 - Gizzie is dealt a setback this Thursday when George chooses. um. let’s just say he makes an important decision that sets the stage for Episode 3, “Let the Truth Sting.” Keep in mind, Shonda strongly hinted that Gizzie wouldn’t start to come undone until news of their fling made its way around Seattle Grace. I believe what you witnessed in last week’s opener was the snuggle before the s**tstorm. Derek also makes a decision at the end of the episode, and it’s one that’ll make all you Mer-Der fans swoon. Before Cristina can get a new love interest, she has to purge the old one from her system. And she’ll do just that this Thursday when Mama Burke drops by Seattle Grace to administer a dose of tough love. And Cristina isn’t the only person she goes all Dr. Phil on. - 09/15 - The residents and interns treat the victims of a massive explosion at an apartment building, while Alex investigates the cause of the accident, Mama Burke returns to collect her son’s things just as Cristina trades her wedding presents in exchange for surgeries, Lexie tries to have a heart-to-heart with an unwilling Meredith, and while Callie is overwhelmed with her duties as Chief Resident, Bailey searches for an outlet for her pent-up leadership skills. - 08/29 - Since Burke’s never coming back, Shonda Rhimes went and got the next best thing: his mama! Diahann Carroll’s returning in this season’s second episode when she shows up at Seattle Grace to get that choker back from Cristina. Needless to say, her return is shocking - and potentially clarifying - for Yang. It’s also funny as hell. In fact, I hear the entire episode is high- sterical. - 07/27 - Doctors will treat various patients who were injured in an apartment complex fire, including the woman who set it after falling asleep while smoking, in the second episode of the new season. Source: TV Squad
- 07/26 - Another Broadway star will join Sara Ramirez and Chandra Wilson on Grey’s Anatomy this fall. Tony winner Ben Vereen will make an appearance in the second episode of Season [4] as a patient at Seattle Grace. “I was exposed to a fire in my apartment and I come in as a burn victim,” Vereen tells TV Guide.com. “I’m a wise, old guy who is the neighbor of a family he’s adopted who has a terrible misfortune.” Vereen’s character discovers that his surrogate family ran a drug laboratory at home when they all wind up in the hospital after an explosion. “He’s crushed because he’s a very lonely man,” says the actor. “Mark and Izzie are taking care of him and Callie comes in so I deal with those characters.” Source: TV Guide Online [Note: It seems that he will play the 70-year-old character we describe in our 07/24 spoilers below.]
- 07/24 - A woman, Marla, wakes up in the hospital not knowing how and why she got there. It turns out that Marla fell asleep with a cigarette in her hand, starting a fire in her living room. Marla sustained injuries to her abdomen. Her husband is okay but her son suffered extensive burns. There are also other patients in the hospital who were affected by the fire Marla set. One patient warns a female doctor to start to date in order to not end up alone at 70 like he is. Another burn patient panics while at the hospital and admits that the life he is now living is not what he wanted. Source: SpoilerFix.com

I hate the george and izzie plot line. Its so stupid. He is married to another woman! Why all this hatred for Callie? Is it because she is hispanic or because she is not the typical pretty little blonde girl we’re used to seeing on tv? Izzie used to be a much stronger character and now she is just a love sick bitter witch. Bring the old Izzie back. As for Callie I loved her chemistry with Addison so I wish she would go to LA and have some fun with them Cali boys.

I agree w/ mlj. Sorry but Callie if frickin hott!!! She’s been my favorite since she’s been there. But lately, she’s so sad and pathetic. What happened to the no-crap Calli??? Also miss Addison…Private Practice gives me my fix though :}

I watched the show tonight and i can’t stop thinking about Burke! I am really hoping he will have a suprise apperance sometime soon! The show just isn’t the same without him. Also, the whole Mer-Der thing, really needs to find a happy medium. It is to back a fourth she waited to long and went through to much to just end it?

I think that the show’s writers covered nicely for Burke’s absence. After all, he was always a “mama’s boy,” so why not have his mother come to pick up his stuff while explaining things to Christina. As far as I am concerned, Burke is as good as forgotten! Even “McDreamy” has compensated for Burke’s departure by re-evaluating his long, yet shattered, friendship with “McSteamy.”
And I find the Izzie/George storyline to be extremely interesting. The two just seem “right” for each other! But in the interest of full disclosure, I can’t stand Calli! And no “mlj”, it is NOT because she is Hispanic or “plus sized.” Rather it is because her character just does not seem to mesh with the others. This leaves her as an annoying and pathetic figure getting in the way of other, more interesting, plot lines. I agree with “mlj” that she should leave Seattle Grace and go to California to be with, what seems to have been her only friend at Seattle Grace, Addison. A message to George: break up with Calli as soon as possible. Don’t let her guilt you into staying with you! Izzie is hot and wants you! So go for it!

am i the only one who noticed that sandra oh is not on the cast picture on grey’s anatomy online player of the cast? is she leaving or what? i mean, they even include meredith’s sister on the picture, what is the reason for not having sandraa oh in it?
