Brooke Smith Joins Grey’s Anatomy Cast

If you saw last night’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, you know that at the end, Dr. Hahn announced that she was taking over as head of cardio (much to Cristina’s chagrin). Well, it’s official: Brooke Smith, the actress who plays Dr. Erica Hahn, is joining the cast full-time.

I guess this means she won’t be on Weeds anymore? I love Brooke Smith. I was so excited at the end of the episode when she said she was there to stay. Now if only they’d bring back Addison…

Well, anyway, for those of you equally excited by the prospect of Dr. Hahn, TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello got a one-on-one interview on the subject.

I can see Dr. Hahn hitting it off with Cristina.
Smith: Secretly, we pushed for that. You know, Sandra [Oh] and I played lovers in [the off-Broadway play] Stop Kiss.

You know, there were rumors a while back that Cristina might be bisexual….
Smith: I know. I heard those rumors.

Then it’s destined to happen!
Smith: That’s what I think. But I don’t know….

I think Dr. Hahn would make an awesome lesbian.
Smith: I think so, too.

Could it happen?
Smith: I honestly don’t know. I’ve certainly let [the producers] know I’m open to it.

What was their reaction?
Smith: They were like, “OK, duly noted!” I think they wanted me to shut up already.

The fact is, Seattle Grace needs a gay character.
Smith: Well, hey, you called it that I [would be] on the show full-time, so….

Cristina and Hahn? I’d be on board with that.

It’s an awesome interview, so check it out!

Thanks, Arieanna, for the tip!

Private Practice 1.05 “In Which Addison Finds a Showerhead” Recap & Screencaps

October 25, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

Private Practice

Episode title: “In Which Addison Finds a Showerhead” episode 5, season 1

Written by: Shonda Rhimes & Marti Noxon

Directed by: Julie Anne Robinson

We begin the episode with Addison in the elevator. The doors are about to close, but Pete manages to catch them just in time. This scene is very Grey’s Anatomy-like. Switch Addison for Meredith and Pete for McDreamy and you’re good to go. But, alas, it’s not Grey’s Anatomy. So, we’re back to Pete and Addison.

All new episode of Private Practice tonight on ABC, and it looks pretty interesting. Naomi and Sam’s daughter’s having sex? Naomi’s not going to take that well.

I’m curious what the showerhead has to do with anything.

Bring on the drama….

October 23, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

T.R. Knight and Sara Ramirez attended the 23rd annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles, which took place on October 21st. The event set fundraising and attendance records, raising more than $3.9 million for AIDS Project Los Angeles and other AIDS service organizations.

“The people of Los Angeles, including leading members of the entertainment community, once again showed their strong support for AIDS Project Los Angeles,” added Miller. “Together, we took to the streets to support people living with HIV/AIDS, and to fund the critical HIV prevention programs needed to stop new infections.”

“Grey’s Anatomy” star TR Knight urged young people to fight complacency and talk about HIV “whether they are gay or straight somewhere in between.” Old and new Hollywood met when Oscar® winner Shirley Jones introduced Tony® winner and “Dreamgirls” co-star Anika Noni Rose, who closed the ceremony and kicked-off the Walk with a haunting performance of “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” the AIDS Walk theme song. Jones performed the song in the 1956 movie version of “Carousel.”

Joshua Jackson Signs On to Grey’s Anatomy

October 22, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

ImageWe all remember Joshua Jackson from Dawson’s Creek. Well, the actor is finally returning to television. He’s been cast as a sexy young doctor in several episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. Starting with episode 11 of season four, Joshua Jackson will be parading through the halls of Seattle Grace in scrubs and a white coat.

Is he set to be a romance interest for someone? Izzie perhaps? Cristina? Meredith? Lexie?

We’ll find out soon enough.

Grey’s Anatomy 4.04 “The Heart of the Matter” Recap

October 22, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

Grey’s Anatomy

Episode title: “The Heart of the Matter” Season 4, episode 04

Original Airdate: October 18th, 2007

Written by: Allan Heinberg

Directed by: Randy Zisk

The episode starts with the usual words of wisdom from the wise Meredith Grey: “In life only one thing is certain apart from death and taxes. No matter how hard you try, no matter how good your intentions, you are going to make mistakes…”

We see Callie sitting much as she was sitting at the end of the last episode: at the edge of the bed, with an expression on her face that could be interpreted as either: “I’m going to blow up the world and everyone in it,” or “if I just sit here long enough, maybe everything will be okay…” or maybe a little bit of both. George’s voice is in the background, calling her name. It’s daylight out, which goes to show just how long she’s been sitting there plotting Gizzie’s demise.
