Grey’s Anatomy 4.01 “A Change Is Gonna Come”
September 28, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

Well season 4 is on its way, and “A Change Is Gonna Come” has graced our TV screens for the first time. What did you guys think of the first episode?
I really liked the pacing and the humor. I loved seeing the interns making others’ lives hell. Felt bad for poor George, though. It must be so awkward no longer being an equal. Lexi needs to work on her timing. People are dying and she decides that’s a good time to tell Meredith that she’s her sister? Hope those wasted seconds didn’t impact the sick person’s life much.
Did anyone find the character dynamic weird now that Burke and Addison are gone? I was okay with their absense, actually.
Anyway, discuss away. What did you like or not like about the episode? Did it change or reinforce your expectations about season 4? I’m rather hopeful about the season myself. It reminded me of season 1 a bit, which is never a bad thing.
Most of the Grey’s Anatomy Cast Smokes
September 27, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
I don’t know how many people actually care about this little tidbit, but I ran across it and thought I’d mention it.
Apparently, most of the Grey’s cast smokes.
Lynn and Alex also report they saw Walsh, T.R. Knight, Justin Chambers, McSteamy Eric Dane (and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart) all smoking at the post-Emmy parties.
Might just be a social thing, but it’s hardly surprising. That said, does it matter to you that the actors smoke?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 4 Promo Round-Up
September 27, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
Well, is everyone ready for tonight’s premiere? I’m rather excited. Last night was Private Practice and I admit I haven’t gotten a chance to watch it yet, but I will shortly.
Regardless, tonight is the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy and I figured it would be a good idea to post a few of the official promos to get us ready to go tonight.
Here they go…

Private Practice Premieres Tonight!
September 26, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
I know this isn’t technically Grey’s Anatomy News, but Addison will always be part of the cast to me, so I’ll be mentioning Private Practice a bit. Tonight is the premiere, and let’s hope tonight’s pseudo-pilot beats the original Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice mashup back in May.
The good news is, the critics are raving:
First off, for all those who insist that Kate Walsh, with her “Grey’s Anatomy”-derived Addison Forbes, isn’t woman enough to carry this series, you’re wrong.
Walsh charms with the best of them. She mugs. She dances. And when the heat is on during a risky childbirth, she gets raw and tells everybody to shut it. Now, how could you not love that?
Indeed.
So I guess the question is: Will you be watching?
Katherine Heigl Talks About Going Brunette For InStyle
September 26, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
Last week I mentioned that Katherine Heigl is featured on the latest InStyle cover as a brunette. Well, when asked about it, it turns out that she’d really like to be a brunette, but it likely won’t be so any time soon:
Heigl says, “In a town of blondes, it makes me look a little more exotic – but my producers won’t let me do it.”.
What do you guys think? Katherine Heigl: blonde or brunette? I think she looks great both ways, honestly. I’d have never guessed she’d look so good with brown hair, but that InStyle cover definitely shows that she’s gorgeous no matter what!

Inside the Grey’s Anatomy Set
September 26, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
USA Today has some great coverage on Grey’s Anatomy this week, going as far as presenting some “scenes” from the grey’s anatomy set, which are mainly descriptions of what goes on with our actors when the camera isn’t on them.
Sandra Oh looks sleepy, wrapped in a parka and heading to her chair. Hers is special compared with all the others’ standard-issue director’s chairs. Oh’s features extra padding, a fancy curved foot rest and a canvas compartment under the seat. While the other actors have their full names silk-screened onto the backs of their chairs, Oh’s is marked with two block letters: OH. She never talks to on-set journalists, but she offers a friendly late-in-the-day wink as she walks by.
Justin Chambers (Alex) shares his trailer, or “tin box,” as he calls it, with Katherine Heigl (Izzie). “I hear her loud mouth all the time — girl’s got a loud mouth,” he kids. Heigl slams right back: She says she has to listen to “trailer buddy” Chambers’ daily doses of Judge Judy or Montel Williams. “I think he falls asleep with the TV on,” she playfully groans. Chambers has more expansive digs off-set. Over the summer he purchased a California home, where his five kids have their own rooms.
Jokes about Patrick Dempsey (Derek, aka Dr. McDreamy) keeping his hair perfect. When there’s a delay between takes, Dempsey displays some of his cellphone photos to Pompeo and Oh. Then Pompeo warns the crew, “We’ve really got to get going. Patrick’s hair is falling.” Later in the day, after Dempsey has spent time relaxing, Pompeo asks, “What’s wrong with your hair?” (It does look a little lopsided.)
More fun stuff over at USA Today. Worth checking out. Be sure to also catch their CelebWatch video about Chyler Leigh. It takes you right to the set where the new Grey’s Anatomy star gives us the inside scoop.

More MerDer Next Grey’s Anatomy Season, Less Gizzie
September 20, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
Let us all breathe a heavy sigh of relief and excitement at the prospect of happy MerDer scenes to come. Well, I don’t know about happy. But definitely more MerDer is on the horizon and though the couple has had its fair share of drama since day one, I do think they’re headed to a happy place eventually.
“I want to be clear that Derek loves Meredith,” Rhimes told TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello. “Derek loves Meredith [Ellen Pompeo] more than anything and I can’t imagine Derek going anyplace else other than Meredith.”
And on Izzie and George?
“A lot of people aren’t sold on Izzie and George,” Rhimes told Ausiello. “I think the mistake that everyone makes is that we are telling you Izzie and George are the love story of the century; they’re not the love story of the century. And when other people find out about Izzie and George — remember, people don’t know about them yet — other people might think that’s not a good idea either.”
I’m okay with Gizzie, but the fact that George is cheating on Callie makes the entire thing wrong. Let’s hope the whole mess gets sorted nicely next season and we can move on to happy times.
I’m really looking forward to next season. Only one more week to go.
