Isaiah Washington Cast on NBC’s Bionic Woman

by Ingrid Diaz on July 18th, 2007

Isaiah Washington has been cast for a five episode role on NBC’s Bionic Woman.

“We feel he is the right actor for the role, but also we believe in second chances,” Smilovic told the reporters here Tuesday. “We are not here to make judgments.”

“When somebody does something wrong and you have a systemic problem, the best way to change that problem is not by casting them outside of the system,” Smilovic continued, now on a roll.

“It’s by allowing them to make amends, allowing them to make reparations and to do the right thing. So rather than excommunicate someone, we felt it was better to give him a second chance.”

For those on Washington’s side, it’s good to see him getting roles. We’ll see if the five episode role gets extended or not. It’s always possible if the audience reacts well to Washington in a new role.

I’m SO glad someone is giving Isaiah Washington a chance! I’m really going to miss him on Grey’s Anatomy. :( I’m also really glad there’s some new news–I was starting to have GA withdrawal. :p

    Delighted at this news.

As for “Grey’s”, no, it is no longer the best. At one time, it was unmatched, and, a big part of that was Isaiah Washington’s wonderful acting and rare chemistry with Sandra Oh.

Ah, well. With “Grey’s” there will always be the memories of how great it used to be….

Upwards and onwards, Isaiah! Can’t wait to see you on screen, again.

I like Isiah Washington, and whether he used the word or not I do not believe it was in relation to TR Knight. Unfortunately people do use this word in heated arguments I have done it myself and I know I am not homophobic.. my sister is a lesbian! However things are all very pc these days and a comment that, although wrong, was not used against TR himself does not warrant the firing of such an outstanding actor. The show will not be the same without him and he will be missed. I haven’t seen all of season 3 yet as I am in the UK, however I have heard a spoiler that says he leaves Cristina at the altar.. to me that is just soo out of character, I mean when Cristina abandoned him in surgery whent they woke him up following surgery, he forgave her instantly. Anyway there is a lot of rambling in this message and not much point, I just think that what happened should not have cost him his job, he did everything asked of him, such as meetings and counseling. He made a mistake, he didn’t kill anyone and he didn’t personally attack TR. It was a one off, not like he was making TR’s life hell abusing him everytime they were on set together! I’m done. :)

Seriously, what was ABC thinking? Who hasn’t muttered something they would regret horribly if ever publicized. And who hasn’t wanted to cover it up some if they did get overheard. He did the crime, so he did the time. It should be over now and I hope NBC continues to see it that way and keeps him on Bionic Woman. He’s got skillz.
