Isaiah Washington defends himself
Isaiah Washington is continuing to defend himself, now saying that his homophobic slur wasn’t directly aimed at T.R. Knight. On Larry King, he said:
“I felt sorry for myself,” the 43-year-old actor told Larry King Monday night. “I’m not going to lie. I felt sorry for myself many times. You fall into that little space and go, ‘Why me? Why me?’ “
The interview was filmed last Friday and was the first one he has done since being fired. He said that during his period of obsessing over the altercation with Patrick Dempsey and the infamous slur that he swears wasn’t directed at T.R., he even found himself online, reading everything that was being said.
“Unfortunately, I did what a lot of my peers and friends said you don’t do,” he said, “and that is to go to IMDB [the Internet movie database Web site, imdb.com] or your blogs and read what they are saying about you.”
Supposedly he actually tried to resign from “Grey’s” twice, as though expecting that he would be fired, knowing that something was coming. He also says that he regrets that he was rattled by a reporter at the Golden Globes when he implied that yes he had called T.R. by a homophobic slur.

Oh waaaaaaah! SHUT UP, CRY BABY!!!
You dug your hole now sleep in it, you race card playin’ fool! Quit feeling sorry for yourself because you are black. I am so sick of black people blaming everything on their race. They hold THEMSELVES back! Get the f*** over it!!!

Me,
I agree with your point that when people (all people) blame circumstances on race, they hold themselves back. And would you also agree that EVERYONE, regardless of their race, gender, or other class based on an immutable trait, would further their status if they were to begin viewing themselves as INDIVIDUALS rather than only as members of a particular group? And in that same regard, we as a society, would be furthered if society began viewing them as INDIVIDUALS and judging them based on their merit. This way the questions and controversies such as those surrounding the entire IW situation would cease to exist.

burke and christina were the only characters i liked on the show anymore. the others are whiney and unbelievable - esp izzy, meredith and tr’s character. the writing has gotten horrible. the acting is even worse. i think isaiah got a bad deal. i don’t believe he called tr a fag. and i believe tr exploited the whole situation to his benefit - he acted pathetic on the ‘ellen’ show and ought to be ashamed of himself. i hope isaiah goes on and does well for himself and i hope ‘grey’s anatomy’ crashes and burns and the crap that it is. i won’t waste another second of my life watcing this drivel.

But hey, society could always regress in favor of what treesey has suggested and continue to pick and choose which classes of people it will favor at the expense of the others. Of course, this would perpetuate what has become the vicious cycle of certain groups being afforded unearned favoritism while others are left being suspicious of any of the successes or failures of a class of people that is not their own. I don’t know about all of you, but I would NOT want to live in treesey’s world!

Do you ever get tired of your own B.S.? Ty? If blacks were consistently shown the racist deck, then the “black card” would never be played. I love how most of you so called “enlighted” people act like we live in a fair and blameless society.
Good for IW for speaking up. Sadly the message will not filter into prejudiced and bigotted people showing their rednecks.

We are so glad that Isaiah was sacked. Even though he told Patrick that he “could act” we really think that he was the weakest lind……GOODBYE! Now on Larry King he has another excuse for not taking responsibility for his being a jerk and at the same times insults gays again by saying that he just used the F word to represent a weak and unworthy of respect individual……geesh doesn’t this guy have a clue??????

It amazes me how everyone’s focus is on the wrong Isaiah Washington did by referring to his coworker’s sexual preference. This country has fallen to a low depth when it can accept the homosexual life as normal. There was a day when common sense caused you to know what was perverted, and Homosexuality is a perversion of what Yaweh created a man for a woman. That is why a homosexual union can not bear the fruit of a child. It is against all Spiritual and natural laws. I am sick and tired of this lifestyle being shoved down the throats of everyone as an alternative lifestyle. I have no sympathy for the homosexual lifestyle. Jesus would love to save and restore those practicing homosexuality and cause them to become the men yahweh created .
