  Well, if he leaves I wouldn’t miss him. I think Burke needs to be a little more humble and not so arrogant. It’s all about him. I hope Cristina does not take up with him again because he treated her so badly. She is a tough lady, but when she is around him she is a wimp!

  Was there really ever a question as to Washington’s
  returning next season? As long as all the cast members can get along, why rock the boat? I suspect they’ve all put the unpleasent episode behind them. I would hope that Washington makes an effort to really mend relations with Knight as I think it would not only prove his sincerity, but make working conditions much better as well. This past year is the kind that can make or break a man - let’s hope Washington comes away from it a better man.

  I’d love for all the cast members to return. I’m so diasappointed that George didn’t pass his exam. I think this will threaten his and Cali’s marriage. I’d love to see George in the Clinic and have some hysterically funny things happen there. When’s the next espisode?

  I love Burke, he is one of my favorite and if he doesn’t come back, I will no longer watch Greys Anatomy. everybody has their own personality and that’s life.

  Well - first off, it’s “bigot”, not “biggot”.

  Secondly, I was as offended as anyone by Washington’s behaviour and words, but I DO believe that we all have the capacity to learn from our mistakes and grow as human beings.

  Granted, it seems pretty clear ABC took his offense more lightly than they might of had it been based on any other prejudice than homophobia, but that still doesn’t mean that he’s a bad person who cannot learn to overcome his prejudice - lots of people do!

  So long as the cast can get over it and we don’t hear any more such outbursts from Mr. Washington, the thing to do is give him the benefit of the doubt.

  Should he attack another co-worker, verbally or physically, then certainly I would agree he’s proved it’s time for him to go. Short of that, we all deserve a second chance.

  Yes, I believe that ABC took his offense more lightly because it was directed at a gay person, but if he’s learned and grown from this experience, then it didn’t happen for nothing.

  Honestly, I wouldn’t miss Isaiah W. if he didn’t come back. He’s a boring, arrogant and bad-tempered character and the whole of Grey’s is getting too dark and twisty. They should bring in someone who is either hot or funny and substitute him. I want the old, fun Grey’s back, at least for a while.

  I love Dr. Burke…I think he is an asset to Greys Anatomy and the show benefits from having him on the staff…despite all the controversity against him he does a great job on the show. I really hope George returns as well….

  I love Burk. I think he’s one of the best actors on the show. I definitely don’t condone his actions behind the scene, but to me it doesn’t take away from his character on the show. I don’t think Grey’s would be the same if he or George left the show

  I figured Burk (Isiah) would return. It will be interesting to watch him with Christina. We all think what he did last October was wrong, but it is ridiculous for the network to wait 7 months to punish him. He is, after all, very good in that part and ABC, I suspect, will be very reluctant for him to depart.

  Mcdreamy lover - Just to be clear, although it sounds funny to toss around “gay rehab”, the truth of the matter is Washington attended an out patient
  anger management clinic - appropriate considering he instigated a physical altercation in the workplace.

  He went for a week. Monday thru Friday…Whoo! How terrible!

  No doubt, the issue of using offensive terminology in the workplace was covered, but it was NOT “gay rehab”, no matter how amusing the term may sound.

  Again - let’s all hope the cast and crew are healing and it doesn’t effect people’s lives and careers more than it already has. As I stated earlier everyone deserves a second chance, but that doesn’t mean we should not take predjudice and violence in the workplace lightly, no matter how much we may enjoy a character in a show.

  I’m like the biggest McDreamy fan ever, but still Burke belongs on greys. Don’t diss him. Mabey he can be boring but he is Cristina’s lover. He is the heart surgeon and he is one of the oldest characters on that show. And it’s pretty low to go and diss ANY greys caracter on a message bored:\

  Just because he is one of the oldest Grey’s characters doesn’t mean that we all have to like him. And since we we’re asked wether we want to see him back on Grey’s, why would it be low to say I wouldn’t?

  And since some of us seem to bash him for how he did Cristina on the show….stop and think…was Cristina crying because he left her…..or crying because she was finally free?? No one really knows now do they….? NOW had that not come out of her mouth…I’d of felt bad for her….and I did when she ws melting down but let’s not forget Cristina is Cristina….which is self centered. I think Burke did what most men would never have the balls to do….and he set her free. It was obvious she didn’t want to be there anyway. I commend him for finally being over her childish crap.

  As I said before, the ONLY reason why I watch Grey’s Anatomy is because of Dr Preston Burke and his ‘unique’ and sweet relationship with Dr Cristina Yang…oh my God…I’m really happy and thrilled that Burke will appear in Season 4 of Grey’s Anatomy…come on guys..everybody deserves a second chance right…?The show is a great show with all its greatest actors..Please don’t leave the show Burke…I love you and Cristina soooooooooo much…

  yes…just heard the news from E! news yesterday…it’s kind of heartbreaking news for me…seriously heartbreaking!i am a heartbroken woman now…gonna miss dr preston burke character…i hope he’ll be back for season 5…who khows huh?all the best to you burke…i really love your character for now, always and forever…!

  Well they certainly surprised me…. In a million years I wouldn’t think ABC would mess with the cast of their number 1 show and risk messing up the chemistry. Had to be an awful lot going on behind the scenes that we never really heard about - they sure didn’t do it just because of the gay thing, or they’d of done it sooner.

  Don’t hold your breath. They are saying the executive who made that announcement stated he/she was not authorized to speak for the show (Sacramento Bee, 6/8/07). So who knows, this could all be a Shonda thing to keep us loyal Grey’s fans panting till next Sept. Isiah is definitely great in the part (I suspect he is only playing himself!!), but really, the gay slur thing aside, we all forget that he also physicilly attacked McDreamy. We can’t have people assaulting other people on the set. Things I have read say Isiah is a pain and causes trouble wherever he works. There may be much more to this than we know. If he leaves, Grey’s will definitely survive. If he stays, hopefully he will be a better person.

  do you people know the picture where in the left corner it says A DECISION THAT COULD CHANGE GREY’S ANATOMY FOREVER and it has addison standind there between the greys cast and the private practice cast? well if u do someone should take the picture and change it so Burke is in the middle between the grey’s cast and shonda rhimes and the people at abc……………because the decision to fire him will change the show……

  coz the reason why i watch grey’s anatomy is because of dr preston burke. I LOVE HIM to death and i love the chemistry between him and cristina yang. they should rehire him because i dont think its fair for him to get fired just like that. that’s full of bull.

  hold it hold it, I dnt wanna see Nobody sayin nothing about Burke Not comiin back. ABC is alot smarter to let a lead characeter like em off da show. many ppl will simply STOP watchin GA. It just aint da same without da whole cristina burke thng, it gave it a twist and is, I believe, the main reason many ppl WATCH da show to begin with. so they fired em, THEIR LOSS! and seriously, WHO would choose Omaly over BURKE??!!! somethin fishy’s goin on! One thng a knw 4 sure though, Dr. Burke WILL RETURN! mark ma wards its only a matter of time.

  In Grey’s Anatomy,Preson Burke is the best doctor I think! I really like BURKE and YANG! They love each other deeply! I can’t believe that Burke was gone~
