Grey’s Anatomy Season 3 Finale

by Ingrid Diaz on May 17th, 2007

What did everyone think of the finale?

I’ll reserve my thoughts for the comments and for a recap tomorrow - don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Let’s hear your thoughts!

hated it! worst of the entire series in my opinion!

I don’t know why all the drama with Meredith and Derek… can’t they just BE?

  • Ingrid Diaz
    May 17, 2007 at 7:52 pm

Yeah it was pretty disappointing as far as finales are concerned. I really hope Shonda and Co. get their act together for next season and start developing some decent storylines.

  • Ingrid Diaz
    May 17, 2007 at 7:55 pm

@Jenn - this is sort of reminds me of Ross and Rachel on Friends or Luke and Lorelai on Gilmore Girls. They’ll be together and apart all the way til the end of the show most likely.

    I liked it.

Did anyone really expect everything to be all happy? This is Grey’s Anatomy. It’s all dark and twisty this season, and the finale was no different.

Though I am dying a little bit. I can’t wait for the fall. I loved Derek and Alex in this episode and I loved Burke almost the whole time.

I thought it was way too dramatic. So much negativity..
Meredith and Dreamy…the wedding diaster..poor george failing..poor lizzie…kallie and george’s doomed marriage…miscarriages…alex misses ava leaving..

A bit too over-played…turn it down a notch next season

  • Jen
    May 17, 2007 at 8:01 pm

Uhhhhh yeahhhh I’m pee-ised~ I can’t believe they did this! Are George and Burke not going to be on the show now? I just don’t see how they’re going to tie all of this up for next season… but they had better!!! I am very upset.. :(

  • Jessica&Matt
    May 17, 2007 at 8:02 pm

Ok, first off….who wants to step up with the list of cast members who are leaving the show? Obviously, #1 Addison, #2 Burke?, #3 George? (b/c of their “behind the scenes turmoil”)…

Theories on storylines for next season?
Here’s one! McDreamy and Merideth’s little sis? Wow.

Here’s to finding something else to do with my Thursday nights for awhile…

I loved the finale. I think it was a perfect example of art imitating life. From what I have heard the set of Grey’s has been tense for awhile. In this episode through the characters actions all of that negativity was shed. I mean they are no longer interns they are doctors, they can breath (ie. Christina saying, “I’m Free” and ripping at her necklace).! We had to have a finale the would echo that life changing transformation. Next season will be a whole new show. The characters like, the cast and crew, have stepped beyond themselves and will be moving into new territory.

I really wanted to like the season finale but there was almost no redeemable moments in the whole thing. I mean Derek and Meredith, Burke and Christiana, Alex and Ava, George/Kallie/Izzy…Everything just ended in such misery, except for maybe Richard and his wife getting a second chance.
Who is leaving the show? I have heard all sorts of different things?

  • Kelley
    May 17, 2007 at 8:27 pm

Will there even be a show? With half the cast gone and no more Merideth and Derick, what’s the point? They should have just had George come out of the closet on the show. I would like to have seen Burke and Christine get married and fight over who’d take care of their kid.

  • Ashley
    May 17, 2007 at 8:55 pm

I’m so upset!! The entire episode was a depressing mess. Could they not have given us at least one or two uplifting events? Nothing was really tied up at all, just complete loose ends and new plot lines to develop next season. Rip off. And can’t they just leave Meredith and Derrick alone for a while??

  • Britt

Hated it, and COME ON I am SO over the whole “Grey” thing…If Derick and that Lexie Grey intern get together I’m gonna be pissed because that story has already been written between he and Meridith- and they are so overdone. And if they bring on an entire new cast next season I’m gonna be really disappointed - it won’t be the same and I may stop watching my favorite show. I want George and Burke both to return. I was highly let down with this finale.

    May 17, 2007 at 9:04 pm

i thought it was put together very well (the back and forth between chief and the doctors). the best scene was richard and adell when she told him that the baby was his. other than that i thought it was very upsetting and left there to be too many fresh starts for next season. not much left to hang on too. george won’t be gone, he’s still married to callie. i would say that’s the last time we see burke, that way it’s a clean break. and mere and derek are going to always be on or off. oh yea. and i don’t like callie AT ALL. i can’t believe she beat out miranda.

Don’t be surprised if BURKE DOESN’T RETURN!!!!!!! I HEARD THAT HE WOULDN’T BE GETTING MARRIED BEACUSE HE GOT FIRED FROM THE SHOW!!!!!!!! Also what is George going to do????????? You know how Derek was telling the chief that he needed to start over and do things differently well thats what Derek will be doing with bar girl (AKA MERDITHS SIS)
DEREK AND MERDITH ARE OVER FOR NOW! I REALLY DIDN’T WANT BURKE TO GET FIRED FROM THE SHOW BUT I THINK THAT HE DID!!!!
    NOTHING GOOD HAPPENED THAT EPISODE!!!!!!!
(ALSO BAR GIRL WILL BE IN 13 EPISODES NEXT SEASON)……..DID ANY OF YOU HERE THAT CALLIE WOULD NOT BE RETURNING AS A REGULAR CAST MEMBER?????……………ALMOST EVERYONE IS LEAVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO IF BURKE DOES NOT RETURN (BECAUSE HE GOT FIRED) I WILL STOP WATCHING THE SHOW!

    May 17, 2007 at 9:26 pm

I will NEVER watch this show again if the writers don’t stop this ridiculous thing with meredith and derek…not to mention everyone else. Instead of being excited about the show like I use to be I am completely depressed after every episode and all of my friends agree. I can’t watch yet another break up…get creative please..Ive had enough ..and the finale?! Wow, could it have been more depressing?? Good job if thats what you guys are going for because I might not even watch season 4 after that!

  • Corrie
    May 17, 2007 at 9:28 pm

I thought the episode was very well put together, but it will indeed be a whole new show next year. Personally I don’t want George to leave, even if it means repeating his intern year I want him to stay. Poor Christina, she really did love Burke, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is gone for good. And if Derek does hook up with Lexie I will NOT be happy. That would just make for a HUGE mess, but who knows, maybe Meredeth doesn’t care…

  • Jill
    May 17, 2007 at 9:29 pm

I was also disappointed with this season finally. All season finale’s are supposed to be big BANGS! This seemed like a regular episode to me. And can they PLEASE PLEASE just let Mer and Derek be happy together!! I am also irritated with the whole Iz and George thing. She was SOOOOO in love with dead guy, and now George! Come on! Makes good story, but just leave Meridith and Derek alone for a long while!

  • Diana
    May 17, 2007 at 9:31 pm

What’s with the new Grey character? If they plan to have her take over the show, I know for a fact that I won’t be watching it.

I HATED when they had a two hour ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ special and it turned out to be a spin-off. Why can’t they stick to the original story, the characters we love? I don’t want to see these other people. I came to watch the show I’ve fallen in love with.

i seriously hated it. to the point where i cried in the bathroom afterwards (hey, i just had a baby & i’m hormonal). but really, what the hell? the whole meredith & derek thing… after her whole “i love you” speech in the 2nd season and choosing him in the third and all of that, why would she just let the whole thing go? if he goes for her sister (which i’m sure he will) i am going to spend next season throwing random shit at my television set. i don’t know if i can even like the show anymore if it really changes the way i think it will.

    i hate callie.

i never really liked burke, but i really didn’t think he would just leave christina like that.

    and george? please don’t go!

  • confused grey watcher
    May 17, 2007 at 10:13 pm

what just happened?! did everything just crash down? that episode definitely surprised me in more ways than one. i really hope this isn’t the end of christina and burke. they were my favorite. and i agree with the person above who said why can’t meredith and derek just be…!

one thing that left me confused:
christina yelled “i’m free” at the very end. was this an “i always wanted to be free and all of sudden, i am now and i lonely” or what?

  • SOFLY
    May 17, 2007 at 10:29 pm

I agree w/ the majority of the folks on here. UGH!!! Season 3 esp. the finale didn’t meet the high expectations of all its faithful Grey’s Anatomy fans. The story plots didn’t make sense at all. First, I thought Izzie was so in love w/ Denny??? And if so, how can you forget about that special kind of love & fall in love (SO HARD) so easily w/ your so-called friend you treat like your brother over 1 drunken love-making night. I thought that whole thing was gross! Second, Callie’s been there for George through his whole emotional downfall of losing his dad…did the writers forget that? How could he easily turn the other cheek, forget his feelings, & realize he has deeper feelings for Izzie? Third, I couldn’t accept the fact that Burke left Christina. Yes, they went through many trying times, and yes, they were both overly-strong individuals, but it was that special one-of-a-kind love that kept them together through it all - as a team. Last, but not least…the whole MerDer thing is painfully getting tiring to watch. One minute they love each other, then Meredith’s wants him, but Derek doesn’t want her - vice versa. And, why did the writers make her respond the way she did when Derek asked her about their relationship/future? And, why did he ever forget his love for her by being so distracted w/ the Chief position or the “girl in the bar?” What ever happened about Meredith being brought back to life b/c she was reminded how she could not bear to not have one more minute w/ the special man “who believes in love.” Come on! The writers - in my opinion are getting lazy. Please, please, please let’s have a better season for the next round. If they need to be reminded of how a show really makes it & leaves it mark, I hope they go to the video store & rent all 6 seasons of “Sex & the City.”

Am I supposed to CARE what happens now? This show used to be fresh, funny, lively. Now it’s just one frustration after another.

    Predictions for next season:

    1. George & Callie have an open marriage and invite Izzie to be their third partner;

    2. Meredith goes on heavy meds to treat her mood swing disorder, loses interest in sex and becomes obsessed with work, throwing away all relationships but that with Christina;

    3. Addison takes off to LA to go into “Private Practice” but her 1960’s cherry-red Porsche rear-ends a truck full of watermelons and she’s decapitated;

    4. McSteamy marries Lexie Grey and love blooms;

    5. Derrick drives to Mexico to bring Burke back and together they decide to start a “private practice” but are killed in a bizarre grapefruit accident;

    6. Christina falls in love with a new resident who turns out to be Burke’s second cousin;

    7. Bailey… aw, forget it.

  • Confused!
    May 17, 2007 at 10:32 pm

    Questions to clear up:

Is Lexie aka Bar girl also Meredith’s sister?
Will Burke be coming back next season? (On http://www.buddytv.com it was noted that Washington’s contract was renewed for another season.)
    Will George be coming back?
Was Meredith’s comment at the wedding, “It’s over. It’s so over…over, over, over.” towards Derek or just re: Christina’s & Burke’s relationship?

    Please clarify!

What a disappointing show. There was no hope at all. And the whole mc dreamy and mers sister thing… how much can the over play it? The depression is getting old. I guess all good shows have to go downhill at sometime…

    May 18, 2007 at 12:07 am

I was soooo Dissappointed..i think everyone here is. Ive been in a relationship for almost three years and never had so much drama in my relationship like the way der and mers have! It’s seems so fiction now..it’s beginning to be like a soap opera. I loved Grey’s cause it seemed so real and now..it’s just too much drama ! And Burke..all three season he has pushed christina to take steps in the relationship..and he just leaves her like that?? i dont want them to break up! I dont want nobody to break up..Why does George have to leave! He made the show sooo funny! They need to tone down the drama and stick with the original cast but it is true what a lot of people are saying..good shows do go downhill.

    May 18, 2007 at 2:57 am

I have to agree with most of the assessments so far. I was disappointed and don’t anticipate tuning in next year. I hope the producers/writers read these blogs for feedback because they need to change what they are doing or risk losing a large percentage of their target audience. Let Mer and Der be happy for more than 2 episodes at a time. Wasn’t the near death experience supposed to change all of their angst for the better? Breaking up Burke and Cristina and Der and Mer and failing George and making a triangle out of Izzie and Callie is too much for one season finale. I like George and Callie. The writers left me little hope, anticipation or excitement for next season. I don’t really care. And isn’t a season finale supposed to leave you wanting more and anxious for the next season? I give them an “F” for this season.

i’m so sad… do you know the feeling after you watch a movie that is so heart breaking like titanic or a walk to remember? that’s what i’m feeling right now… I can’t believe that meredith would be that confused? I mean why can’t she just kiss derek and say I love you too!!! My goodness! and i can’t handle the thing that happened with burke and christina. I’m so depress and helpless! I know i’m over reacting but i’m so attached with the show. I want to cry…!!!! For the writers of Grey’s, dont even dare to develop an affair between the bar girl and derek. We’re going to hate you BIG TIME!!!! I mean its not ethical to date your girlfriend’s sister and i think derek won’t do that because he was certain that he loves meredith after all she was the love of his life…. Shonda Rhimes please make it work! okay? we are all tired or heart aches! ok? if derek and meredith are supposed to be together so be it! don’t let them fall apart…please?!? i know that maybe it’s part of you marketing strategy or whatever but I want them all to be happy even us, the viewers.

    May 18, 2007 at 3:26 am

    Very disappointed.
Season 3 started well and then turned into a Soap Opera. What happened to those fresh, smart and funny Interns of season 1 and 2? We fans deserve better than this!
“Friends” could keep up 10 years of real entertainment, “Grey” has fallen from the top to lower than mediocrity. I can’t even keep watching it has become so boring and predictable. Plus if it wasn’t for Christina or Bailey the rest of the characters are a shame to womanhood, all sex driven and needy.

  • feeley718
    May 18, 2007 at 3:35 am

*So disappointed, very very bad finale. Love the show but this season was just not good at all…

Extremely depressing, and predictible for next season…. You can guarantee that Derek will have a love thing with Lexi…. He’s got issues.. Mer, needs therapy and med’s for her depression..

I did think it was sad that Burke and Christina ended that way— as for George… My gut tells me he might be moving on…….. For Addision, no wonder she’s leaving for her own show—- the old Grey’s is gone.. Very sad…

  • abbyK
    May 18, 2007 at 3:56 am

All that, and not giving Dr Bailey the chief resident job? Now, instead of a leader called a nazi who makes everyone jump, the boss of everyone is Mrs Insecurities. Callie’s okay, but part of the fun of Greys is the relationship the interns had with Dr Bailey. Now they’ve moved on but she’s been left behind. She thinks she’s all career and has to be crushed. There’d better be a big redemption for Miranda next season or I’m outta here, too!

  • chinoe
    May 18, 2007 at 4:04 am

if meredith and derek’s over then my interest for the show is so damn over!i’m pissed!for me it’s the worst episode ever!!!!!i really cried when i knew that derek and meredith broke up. i can’t imagine derek hooking up with lexie, she’s meredith’s sister!merder should be together again. i pity derek.

  • Jon
    May 18, 2007 at 4:11 am

Too much contrived drama - everyone having or trying to have a baby (what, is the entire writing staff going through pregnancies?).

The George/Kallie/Izzy thing is unrealistic and George failing his test and leavng - no, he’ll be back.

Burke letting Christiana go was so predictable, and he’ll be back too, with a new GF within 2 episodes.

Alex and Ava was the only touching part.

A new interrn that’s possibly Meredith’s sister (a love child no one knew about?).

Meredith & McDreamy are turning into Carrie and Mr. Big - boring. She can’t get out of her own way.

Addison leaving for a spin off? There’s the one that should stay.

Bailey was the only one without any major drama.

  • McFrumpy
    May 18, 2007 at 4:31 am

I felt the final episode was a product of “poor actor management” meeting “weak writing ability”. The real-life fights on the set are well known… and it seems that either a couple of actors got fired or have decided to move on… So, the writers just change the whole burke/christina dynamic in a fairly unbelievable fashion, toss more sturm und drang into the izzy/george/callie triangle, and completely negate a new chief’s appointment?

Come on guys - this is not strong writing. If the writers suddenly pull meredith’s little sister out of a hat (hey presto, lets add MORE complexity rather than depth of writing) it will demonstrate a paucity of talent that is unforgivable.

  • maggie
    May 18, 2007 at 4:47 am

they sooo could have done a better job, i mean the whole der mer thing is getting old. Just keep them together and concentrate on getting the other story lines better. bec as far as im concerned the whole private practice show is the worst idea and could possibly ruin greys

Ok, EVERY SINGLE person in this forum are the BIGGEST idiots I have ever seen. I thought this finale was AWESOME, very well written and thought out. What the hell did you think would happen, happy endings?? The writers and Shonda thought this out very well, AND YOU KNOW EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WILL WATCH IT NEXT SEASON SO STOP SAYING “IF THIS HAPPENS, I AM SO NOT WATCHING THE SHOW,” because that’s bullshit. Their job is to leave you frustrated and thinking so you will watch next season.

1.) Burke and Christina: he let her go because he loved her so much and knew she didn’t really want to get married. Hello! She said in the last scene with him: “I THINK I want to do this.” That’s not reassuring to Burke. He loved her so much that he let her go.
2.) Mer and Der, I agree, they have given them too much drama, but I’m not a fan anyways, they can’t be happy or THERE WOULD BE NO SHOW! God, you people are so stupid. And I love the sister coming in, that is brilliant!! He won’t get together with her, but it will cause problems…AKA a hit show!
3.) George/Izzie/Callie: It is true, Izzie got over Denny and moved fast, but I like her and George together. George will be back next season and start his internship again, and Callie will realize George doesn’t love her and I think she will leave the show, then Bailey will be Chief Resident. Don’t you think they have this figured out? And you all keep saying everyone’s leaving, they so are not! It is the number one show on TV, they make 4 million a year, they WON’T leave.
4.) Alex and Ava, was ok, but they are DONE.

Of course the show was depressing! It’s called a DRAMA people…good god. It left you hanging with so many open ends, AKA a GOOD SEASON finale! I am going to leave you all with one question: could any of you IDIOTS write one millionth as good as these writers?

  • Belgianfan
    May 18, 2007 at 5:02 am

    Answer to anonymous:
    1) Don’t call others idiots to feel smart, this is not about guessing who and why this is about mediocrity of the writers.
    2) No one has to “write” an episode just cut and paste line from ER , Desperate housewives, …. you will get a full episode. That’s why the characters are not believable anymore.
If it doesn’t change the ratings are going down because the tv viewers are not so “stupid”!!!

  • Catherine
    May 18, 2007 at 5:03 am

What a mess! Why not have Meredith go up to Derek and say something reassuring instead of “it’s over, it’s so over.” There is absolutely no reasonable or rather unreasonable person (which Meredith is) who would have acted that way. What is her problem with Derek? That speech he gave in the locker room (love of my life) should have ended with them “getting it on” — not leaving more separated than before. I mean, women live for that stuff.

Just crap all the way around. I think all may be lost. I am so mad. Last season I was mad, but mad because I had to wait so long before the show came back. NOT THE SAME THING!!

  • Warren728
    May 18, 2007 at 5:08 am

    Hideous!
I find it almost insulting for the writers to think that they have to make everything absolutely abysmal in order to hold our attention. Of course it’s a drama — of course there has to be conflict - but not one redeemimg moment to capture our hearts and our minds and bring us back next season with something to hope for — C’MON Shonda! Hope and interest and getting people to invest emotionally — that’s entertainment and human nature 101!
It was absolutely one of THE worst season finales EVER. Many co-workers are talking about bailing altogether because of the Meredith and Derek storyline — even in ER they would let the characters in the featured love relationship have a couple of happy episodes before they broke it down to build it up again - the “dance” is only good when viewers eventually get their happy moment - even if it’s temporary.
Who’s doing the market research here? If you are giving us nothing to invest in and nothing to hope for — then you’re losing our interest.
(and I’m your money-spending target demo)
This was a VERY DISAPPOINTING episode - how sad to take such a great series and drive it off a cliff. (or more to the point - over the shark)

I’ll watch the first few episodes of next season - but if I am going to need an anti-depressant drip to get through an episode — I’m DONE!
Please do better next season - this was awful.

Reality is great and drama built the show but this is over the top and I hope Meredith’s last comment wasn’t metaphorical — I fear that if the writing doesn’t get better - Grey’s too will be “so over.”

  • Andrea
    May 18, 2007 at 5:10 am

I was SOOOO disappointed! Absolutely nothing was resolved: chief, Meredith & Derek, Crisitina & Burke, George & Callie, George & Izzie, George and his test scores…what the hell? Last season we saw Denny die and Derek and Meredith have sex, we just had to wait until next season to see what would happen as the result of those things happening. This season we have nothing to really go on. And I’m hoping Shonda doesn’t have us get to know the new interns…I don’t want to know them, I want to know what’s going on with OUR interns! I’m really afraid that this is going to happen next season and I really don’t want to not watch Grey’s anymore!

    May 18, 2007 at 5:22 am

I don’t want them to leave..

  • Seriously Saddness
    May 18, 2007 at 5:37 am

OMG! and Seriously… This was indeed a dramatic episode(and YES I have a MBA and I am a smart person.. I know its a “DRAMA”) , but I agree with all the people above about them playing out Mer and Der, and it being like a Sex and the City episode with Mr. Big and Carrie.. It makes for too much depression and why would we watch it if the final show we know that the writers will do what OTHERS have done with the same type of successful show..the FINAL show ever will get Mer and Der back to gether .. Why watch the show.. They need to develop more of a positive relationship with them.. and make us happy to watch the show.. I cant believe all the cast members are leaving.. and MOST DEF will not watch the show if most of the characters are gone .. Its like a bad 90210.. when they kept replacing the cast.. It was annoying. Viewers watch a show for a certain reason and when that is taken away .. they will lose their viewers.. Is that what they are trying to do.??. Is next season the last season and they are going to focus on the spin off.. Which in my opinion, is not that great of a character base.. There is not ANY chemistry between the characters like the one that you find in Grey’s Anatomy. Lastly, the whole Lexi thing will PISS ME off and as soon as it happens I will seriously STOP watching.. its SO freaking predictible .. Even if Derek is so inlove with Mer.. he will let go..he wont put himself through that rejection.. and you can only let him make those speeches so many times without her saying anything back.. sure she has gone through a lot this season.. A LITTLE TOO MUCH.. seriously.. but thats when there should have been some light at the end of the tunnel. She should have had the happy ending.. I feel sorry for Cristina and Burke, but SOMEONE.. should have had a happy ending.. instead of complete saddness at the end.. No one is happy .. and that leaves a sour tast in my mouth.. not even wanting to watch next season.

    Nay:
Lexi is Thatcher and Susan’s other daughter, along with Molly. I knew it was Lexi when she went up to Derek in the bar and he told her she was forward, and she said: “I’ve had a bad day, I can be forward today.” That day was her mother’s funeral. Ok, have you seen Lexi? How on earth could she be bi-racial? And Meredith would know her if it was her mother’s child!

    In response to Belgianfan:
I don’t need to call others idiots to feel smart, I am smart, I know this show, and you all do that on your own. Again, the writers are doing this ON PURPOSE TO KEEP YOU WATCHING. EVERYONE WHO SAYS THEY WILL NOT WATCH THE SHOW…WILL. YOU ALL ARE BEING IMMATURE AND JUST VENTING, YOU ARE ADDICTED TO THE SHOW AND WILL NEVER STOP WATCHING IT.

And yeah, YOU’RE RIGHT: they just paste lines from ER (sarcastic). Again, I would like to see you write a hit show and win a golden globe and THEN WE’LL TALK. You’re being angry about the plot means they are doing their job. I’ll see you when you watch the Season Premiere next season, or are you going to boycott Grey’s?

So I agree with you, that the final episode was a bit too much drama.
But before you all say you´re done with GA you should read Shonda´s comments to the final episode on http://www.greyswriters.com.
There she explains a lot of things and after reading her post I wasn´t so sad about the final anymore and now I´m even looking forward to the next season!
And as a real GA-Fan I think it´s my duty to wait for the next episodes before I say I´m done with GA!!!
(Sorry for my bad english - I´m from Austria)

Grey’s is losing a loyal follower. How much can really happen to Meredith Grey in one year? Izzie is written as a emotional basket case. Derek is in one episode telling Meredith to get a backbone, and in the next telling her that she doesn’t rely on him enough. Shonda and Co. have gone downhill the back half of this season and instead of creating a great show about competition and friendship, it has turned into a show about implausable story lines and stupid characters. Shonda, please stop congratulating yourself on your show;It has only been 2.5 seasons and you have a long way to go. You have to continue to work hard with writing instead of taking the easy way out and making it a soap opera. Your characters used to be real, people we could say were our “friends,” but now I know I would never be friends with these people! Grey’s Anatomy has turned from a People magazine into a National Enquirer.

Lexi is Thatcher and Susan’s daughter, isn’t she? I thought Thatcher talked about her finishing med school at Harvard and then starting her internship soon. Why is there all this speculation that she is a love child?

This was a very DISPPOINTING EPISODE. I HATE the fact that Merdith and Dereck are over, it shouldn’t ended like that . I don’t think I’m watching it next season.p.s. WIth HER SISTER NOW >THE SHOW IS SOOOO OVER>

    May 18, 2007 at 6:20 am

I agree with everyone who was disappointed. This ended so badly for me, and like you all I may not tune in for next season either. I don’t watch a lot of TV b/c i am a working Mom. But I really got into Grey’s and now, well I jsut don’t know if it’s worth my time.
Derek & Mer - I agree with you all who say why can’t they just be. Seriously. And as for Der feeling “neglected” HELLO Mer just lost her mother, then started to bond with her step-mother only to watch her die. Umm, a little grace here, she has had a rough month - give her whatever she needs to deal with these losses and don’t put another burdern on her. Weak - ask her to break up with you - selfish and weak. After all he said about sticking around with her this year “this is what couples do…”. He needs to take it back, and work with her.
Callie/Izzy/Georger - we all love George, he can’t leave. And as for Izzy, she had her chance. George is married now, and Callie doesn’t deserve to be treated like crap and cheated on. She’s been good to George.
Christina and Burke - were great together, he said she always need a little push and then she was happy with the change. Same with the wedding. I really hope he wasn’t fired. he’s a great actor.
Dr Baily - totally should have been named chief of residency. Really dont’ get that one.
Only thing i was happy with was the Chief and Addell getting a 2nd chance.
But that’s not enough to keep watching next year.

I hate how this season ended! It sucked ass!

I am mad about there Mere Der thing to. All I want is to see the two of them just be happy together. I REALLY HATED how that dumb bitch that flirted with Derek is meredith’s younger sister. That REALLY made me mad. I swear if those two hook up, I am done watching. Then BURKE leaving Yang at the alter, wtf? And no, I did not like it that no Cheif was chosen, nothing was resolved with Mere/der, Kallie get Cheif Resident and not Bailey. For a season “finale” nothing seemed final. I was really really disappointed.

    May 18, 2007 at 6:57 am

I am sitting on the fence about last nights finale. I was disappointed in the whole Derrek & Meredith storyline…Derrek cannot get with Meredith’s sister as that would just be getting a little GROSS…and if he goes and does that she is definately going to get some McSteamy action for revenge. Eventually, Meredith and Derrek will make it…I just dont know if I will live long enough to see it happen. The show was depressing overall, I dont understand why the Cheif would give Cheif Resident to Callie rather than Bailey. George will come back next season because he’s George. You could see the reaction on his face when Bar Whore said she was Merediths little sis..he will stay to keep the gang together. I wonder how many one night stands Christina & Meredith will bring home now?

Bar girl is NOT Meridith’s sister. Remember? She was pregnant and had a baby. As far as I know she was properly married and would not be a Grey anymore. Also, she had blonde hair and never mentioned she was also in med school…the writers just wrote that in to stump the panel, and it looks like it worked. I am not a fan of that actress anyway…(bar girl). I will miss Addison!

I did not watch last night because I had a conflict. It has been interesting reading the the opinions this morning.

This Is supposed to be a ‘comedic’ drama, I saw that in the First seeason and it was great, fun and really pulled me in. Season 3 has been awful with the exception of a few episodes.

The two basic star’s of the show Meredith being Grey And McDreamy (her love interestof the show) should have more light hearted episodes. Many of us in USA are not used to FILM NOIR. I personally feel uncomfortable with thst genre and don’t expect to see it here almost EVERY week. That is what happened this season. As far as next season goes I am not sure I will watch. Seriously.

There are soo many questions unanswered.
I cant believe that Merediths half sister, is the girl who hit on Derek in the bar!!
Its just like how the series started.
If they break up for good, I’m done with the show. Also who gets the babys? Give them to the Gay guys.
What happens with Alex and Ava?
    Where did Burke go?
Is Addison done with the show? Because her new show is coming on in the fall.
    Whats George going to do?
What about Izzie and Callie in the church!
Why did they not give resident to Bailey?
Why did they choose to end the season like this.
    Oh my gosh!
    This is sooo horrible.

I need answeres to my questions!!

Okay, I hated it more than anything. It seriously depressed me the rest of the night, I think its stupid how they didnt have Burke and Christina get married I mean come on and Derek and Mer they should be having no trouble and then bringing her sister in, and on top of everything Burke and George leaving, I am def. not watching Greys Anatomy without them in the show. They should have just ended it.

I missed the season finale!!!! I am not seeing where ABC is going to re-show GA during the Friday slot, and it’s not posted on ABC.com as an episode to watch. Even after all of the comments, I’d still like to see it…is it a waste of time, maybe…but I’d still like to see it! Does anyone know if ABC is going to re-air the show…Might be a dumb question since it was the season finale….

OMG I loved it. what a season finale. So many bad things just happend. ervery one is saying they hate it and not going to watch it, but watch them try not to turn it on in the fall. the writers sure got thier money’s woth out of this one…..I’ll be thinking about it all summer. I knew that mer was that selfish but my friends defended her all the way i guess i was right….

‘My 2cents worth’ must have missed some dialogue- Meredith has 2 sisters, the married one and the one that was in MED SCHOOL!!! So this IS Mer’s sister.
    Duh.
I am very disappointed in the episode, though, as most people were. It all bordered on rediculous. Callie gets Cheif Res over Bailey? There is no justification for that. Ava leaves with that tool? I think not. I don’t really think Meredith’s been dark & twisty enough lately to warrent Derrek’s shit, either, though I totally agree that they just need to let them be for a while - let them be a couple! Maybe take a weekend adventure somewhere, have some great procedures together- whatever, but the only story line they ever give them is “in love/break up….in love/break up. There IS something esle to relationships, dark & twisty or otherwise.
    Poor Izzy- that’s all.
Burke & Christina- not believable. Burke wouldn’t have done that. I realize they were trying to weed him out, but that was kooky, though I loved the last scene with Meredith & Christina.
Sadly, the only real things I’m looking forward to next season are to see what happens with Bailey and what happens with George.
I hope the writters rally over the summer and come up with stuff to reel us back in.

  • Mags
    May 18, 2007 at 8:04 am

    Seriously?

Seriously. You’re all going to quit watching. That’s just stupid. Read what Shonda says on the blog (greyswriters.com) about how this had to happen. She had to burn it down so next season can be the rebuilding.
And they won’t stop focusing on our beloved interns (now residents). They would have wrapped everything up if they were planning on switching to new characters in the fall. And they will still make stupid intern mistakes, just like the first three seasons. It’s not like their residency gives them ultimate knowledge. They will still be learning from their fellow residents, their attendings, and their chief.
Of course Burke will be back. Of course George will be back. And Mer and Der and Cristina and Alex and Izzie and Callie. And Bailey will still be there. They’re all signed up for next season…the only person who won’t be there is Addy because she’ll be moving to Private Practice.
This season finale affected you; that means that it was well done. You obviously still care about the characters, otherwise you wouldn’t be so upset. Just tune in next season. Things will get better.

    (I hope).

    May 18, 2007 at 8:20 am

I thought it was a great show. Not great in terms of what happened to our beloved charactors but it was definitely a brilliant example of art imitating life.

Addison’s speech to Alex was right on.

Meredith leaving Dreamy in the middle of a discussion about their relationship problems to go help a girl friend. Any man would have thrown up his hands.

Richard’s reasoning to all the candidates why they were not chosen as Chief; personal lives have not been dealt with.

Burke’s reason for leaving Christina at the altar; they do what they think the other one wants. The chief and Adelle, coming back together after a mid-life crisis.

I know all this doesn’t leave us much for next season but hopefully the writers have some major tricks up their sleeves that will keep us watching week after week.

Thacher and Susan had two girls. Molly is the one that had the baby. Lexie is the med student that was at Harvard. Thacher told Mer in Testing 1-2-3 that he worried about each of them. If you go back and watch you will see it. While Susan is having her first surgery.
I have to say - I wasnt as pleased with this ending or this season but to say no more is harsh.

In the episode where Susan is in the hospital and the spin off (titled “The Other Side Of This Life”) when Merideth and Thatcher are talking, he says he is worried about Moly living in a different city with the new baby and Lexi is about to start her residency. She is indeed Susan’s and Thatcher’s daughter. Just clearing that up.

I just want to say …OMG…what is up with this??? The happiest moment of the night was when Adelle finally expressed her love for the Cheif!! That was so toucing…I am hoping they stay together and that he stays on as cheif. As far as the rest of the show….can you say “the glass was definately half emply!” How could George who preformed the miracle in the elevator fail his test?? As if Meredith is just going to let go of McDreamy! Alex got back to the hospital to late to catch his “AVA”! Burke needs to be slapped or maybe have his eyebrows pulled off! I cried with Christina …that was hear wrenching! Bailey was so sad through the entire episode! No hints on what’s going to happen with her now that Callie will be taking over that position! I have to say I was so disappointed with the negativity of this episode…they could have left us with a little bit of happiness to do us until next season!

I’m sorry to say, but I was so disappointed. I thought questions would be answered in the finale and now they just open up more questions. Is George going to leave? I’m sorry but they need to lay off the drama with Izzy.

How much more can you really pile on drama with one character to where it gets ridiculous? Is Burke leaving too? Meredith was pissing me off during the entire show after she had made it clear to Derek that she would be more open and they just close her up once again.

I was hoping this would be the final episode because honestly, a lot of these shows are loosing their touches. I like Callie and it really sucks that they would put her in such a situation.

    Here’s what I think:
Burke and Christina: I had a hunch they wouldn’t get married but it sucks that he would just let the whole wedding go through and then at the last minute say it wasn’t going to work.

Meredith and Derek: What the hell?! How many Ross and Rachel situations are these shows going to make? I nearly stopped watching friends because I was so sick of that plot coming up all the time.

Callie/Izzie/George: I keep my last statement, they need to lay off the drama from Izzie. She is not my favorite character at all. I like Callie which really sucks at what’s going on with them. Why was Izzie so disappointed? She should have known that he wasn’t going to come to her, he said he was a married man. Even if he did cheat on Callie.

    That’s my two cents.

To UF - Your English is just fine. Thank you for the link to Shonda’s explanation of the finale. I appreciated understanding the metaphor of Cristina being turned into a China doll and what the crying and gasping “I’m free” might mean. Talk about conflicted! To those who were disappointed, you are not stupid. If you choose not to watch because of where the stories seems to be heading, you can always buys tv-on-dvd later. Aloha Nui Loa

Just another comment about Lexi. In a much earlier episode there was another mention of her finishing up at Harvard med school (right then and there both my mom and I thought that she’d probably make an appearance eventually on the show). I think this was probably the same episode when Molly showed up at the hospital, but I’m not sure. Anyway, there have been several mentions of Thatcher and Susan having two daughters, Lexi being the one in med school, so there’s really no controversy here. What is weird is how they plan on explaining her coincidenal appearance at Seattle Grace. Her *just happening* to get assigned there seems a little unbelievable. Maybe Lexi made it to Seattle Grace through special circumstances to be closer to her greiving father?

Either way, I find it all annoying, and I completely agree with all of you who found the episode disappointing and depressing. People who have mentioned that this is drama and we shouldn’t be surprised are right to some extent, but this show has gone from being exciting and leaving me on the edge of my seat to just being annoyingly frustrating to the point where I don’t even care to watch anymore. In general, I think this entire season has been disappointing, with several boring episodes, storylines that were just dropped (e.g., what happened with Izzie and her daughter?? I can’t believe that was just one episode and then never mentioned again!). Also, there were much fewer episodes, and I swear they’re getting shorter with an obnoxious number of commercial breaks. It seems like Shonda and crew are letting the popularity of Grey’s get to them, and the quantity and quality is just festering.

Also, what happened with Addison? Is she just not going to be there next season, or will they take care of her departure in the first episode? I hope it’s not just some characters lamely mentioning that she’s gone off to L.A. (aka to her crappy spinoff that probably won’t make it).

The one redeeming part of last night’s episode? The fact that they didn’t kill of Adelle (thank god!) For a while I thought the writers were totally trigger happy and were going to kill off every peripheral character the show had!

All in all, I’m highly disappointed

  • Cheri

UNBELIEVEABLE!!! I was so disappointed in the show! What is up with always having to mess with Meredith and Derek… can’t one couple be happy on any show? I mean I know it’s not much of a story line, but it sure would be nice. Izzie and George… for the love - I mean really! Callie… well I got nothing there either! I am glad to see that Adelle and the Chief are back together. I can’t believe Alex let Ava go… what a moron! I don’t think he will find her either but I think she was just visiting the show! As far as Burke and Christina - that was just ridiculous! She finally agrees to marry him and he leaves her… dum dum dum!!! I sure hope it gets better! I won’t stop watching at least for one more season… but just like ER… when they let all the good ones go I stopped watching and never went back.

So I agree with Anonymous and Mags. Mags described my feelings to the show exactly…and Anonymous had great insight on what went on.
I do understand frustrations with the finale but then again what kind of season finale would it be if it didn’t (quote on quote)… “leave us hanging”. Overall I am pleased: There are new situations for next season, new characters (Grey’s sister), new problems and big decisions to be made (George and his internship situation, and ofcourse the Callie and Izzie situation).
I respect everyone’s comments and opinions, but I think if you disliked the show then maybe you were expecting a perfecting happy ending…and we all know that that isn’t Grey’s.

Hello ppl .. its a season finale its suppose to be dramatic and it was the perfect way to end the season . this was dark and the interns were in dark places so the season finale would have to show that it had to end everything so they can restart from scratch again.. I loved the season finale it was the best way to end a terrific dark and twisty season Way to go Greys Team and actors :)

Burk will not come back and either will Addison. George will be there, he signed a contract. I have a feeling he will redo his intership and he and Callie will fall apart and he will hook up with the new Grey intern. Izzie, Christina and Merideth and Bailey will all work for Callie as she is chief resident and Dereck will actually take the position as chief at some point in the season!

  • Holly
    May 18, 2007 at 11:09 am

I loved it. I thought it felt like the real Greys instead of what has been on recently.
I am not happy about the Mer/Der thing, but I know that this is a way to keep us interested. They were getting a bit boring.
I am really NOT going to be happy if “lexie” and Derrick even hint of seeing eachother.
I think Christina and Burke make a wonderful couple and I hope this is just a bump in the road and they will elope next season, with no dress, no bridesmaids, no best man.
Alex and Izzie.. that is what I want next season.
    I can’t wait.

I can’t believe what I saw. That was AWFUL!!! The first 45 minutes was throw away and the final 30, while it moved storyline, SUCKED! NOTHING sucked more than George…of all the interns… GEORGE failing his test. Why him? Why at all? The season premiere better start with him receiving a letter saying, opps we screwed up, you passed. I don’t know if I can even WATCH Grey’s anymore. It went that low that fast!

  • Danielle
    May 18, 2007 at 12:10 pm

Too many cliffhangers (no pun intended) One or 2 would have been fine, but seriously! Every character has one…we know absolutely NOTHING about next season.

As much as I love Chlyer Leah, Derek does not need to be hooking up with Meredith’s sister . Bad news.

George, I think he will re-do his internship. I haven’t heard anything about him leaving the show. Callie-I could so do without her. I can’t stand her.

Christina/Burke-What the crap? I really thought they would get married. Why didn’t she just tell him she wasn’t having 2nd thoughts and that she just forgot her vows?

Meredith-needs to stop basing her love life on Christina’s. So just bc Christina’s failed Meredith’s has to as well? Thats baloney. GROW UP GREY.

Izzie-poor girl. George loves her no doubt, but of course he will realize that but then Callie will be preggers, and ruin everything.

Richard and Adele…YAY!!!! I really hope they stay together!

Derek and the chief situation. I’m thinking that Richard will tell Derek that he does not want it, and now that Derek doesn’t have Mer, he will glady accept the position as Chief.

I’m not sure I can make it through the whole summer without Grey’s, the Private Practice better be good…i need SOMETHING!

I agree with ash, are they just going to mention that Addison has gone to L.A. in the first episode and leave it like that?? Plus I don’t think Derek and Lexie are goint to get together or anything, it would be too twisty, too unethical. i like his and Izzies story line..
and this whole Mer&derek on and off thing is too predictable,

and Izzie and George together. i really dont want him to leave

I’m one of the ones who loved the finale. Enough of the ‘lived happy ever after’ stuff - and that yeah to marrage stuff. Good for Grey’s! I think Christina and Burke will actually have a better relationship - more real (maybe with real love). Too bad about George - didn’t see that coming. What I think will happen is that Issie will be preggers and so will Callie! Is McDreamy mcgone?

HMMMMM. I am not so happy with the Derek and Meredith thing. She is such a baby. He loves her, which is what she wanted, but then she says “its so over” like he did something? What a little baby. The rest of the finale was what I would have expected and what I saw coming a little bit, except Calli getting chief resident. I love Dr Bailey. But I am very disapointed with the Derek and Meredith relationship and how it is ending, even if it is just for now. She is acting like a selfish brat!

as with everyone else, i was so disappointed in the finale. actually, i was disappointed with this season. it had so much unbelieveable drama, like two couples getting engaged for one. if burke’s fired they should have had him be the one who drowned, those three episodes were pretty ridiculous since we all knew meredith was going to make it. it would have been more intense if it was burke or george amidst all the turmoil off the set. and what happened to izzie’s child? this whole season has been one overly dramatic show after another, and each week it’s like what happened the week before is forgotten. everything that happened in the finale was so drastic that i don’t see how it could seriously be fixed next season without it being totally unrealistic BS. this show is really going down the tubes, especially after that ridiculous spinoff got picked up!

  • Linsey

ps I will not stop watching though. Hopefully the show can redeem itself in the fall when we get to see the rest. I do not think everyone is leaving the show. Don’t over exagerate the finale. Grey’s Anatomy usually has a way of finding the right resolutions to its issues. Know what I mean. There may be changes, but it is still the same show, so there will be a bit of familiarity I am sure of it. I was mad at first to, but I do have hope!!!!!

It was ok, but I didn’t care for the drama between Mer and McDreamy. They really are like Luke and Lorelai on Gilmore Girls. They’re together and apart and together and apart and they won’t be back together for good until the end. And I actually thought Cristina was gonna marry Burke. I hope Shonda and the writers get Mer and McDreamy back on track soon and I hope Derek doesn’t hook up with the girl from the bar.

everyone wants everything to be all happy and what not…..yes, the finale was depressing and hard….but that is life….i think in season 4 things will only end up getting better…..i dont think i would like the show if everything was always perfect, thats not how life works…..i love how in grey’s anatomy everything is so unexpected…it always shocks the audience.

To be honest in my opinion they have maybe 2 or 3 shows next season to save themselves. I know things can’t go perfect and I did not expect them to. Maybe Cristina and Burke didn’t need to get married but did he need to just completely walk out of her life, no. And did we expect Mer and Mcdreamy to get a happily-ever-after, no, but if that was really her ending it, I don’t even want to think about it. I could have delt with somethings going wrong or even most things going wrong but the chief’s happy ending alone wasn’t enough. You can’t destroy everyone’s life at once. Yes it’s fiction and sometimes unrealistic but I think they went a little far this time. Unless they just plan on completely becoming a new show. And as far as Lexie goes if Mcdreamy gets with her that’s it for me. They have given Mer a troubled enough back story who wants to watch anyone go through more then she has, I mean hell they basically left her with Cristina and that’s it, cause I mean we all know Izzie falls in love to often to be able to help anyone else, when she’s always getting hurt.

I am so mad!!!!! *pulls hair* i can not believe Burke dumped Cristina, especially after the whole vows thing and every thing they have been through. Also i thnk Ava will be back. Like everyone else i want the show i know and LOVE to be back, and my fav couple (C and B) to get back together i mean they were basically the only semi-undramatic couple in the whole show. arhhh!!!!!!!!!

If MerDer breaks up…I may be able to live with that in hopes that they will reunite one day. But if Derek gets with Lexi Grey, who turns out to be Mer’s half sister, I will stop watching this show. It was a nice touch ending almost everyone’s relationships but with half the cast leaving who’s going to be in season 4? All those interns? they look like idiots and I wouldn’t waste my time watching them trying to replace one of the greatest cast.

This finale has made me extremely emotional and bitter. I just wanted Meredith and Derek to be together, is that asking for too much?!!!!

Wow! All the heartbreak and drama! And we can potentially lose some characters while adding a new list of interns! Cool! Don’t get me wrong - I love them, well except for Izzie, she’s way too emotionally stupid to love, but the cast and storylines were beginning to become inbred.

I’m glad Burke dumped Cristina - about time. He’s cool, normal and compassionate. She’s self-absorbed and immature. Not a good match and I’m glad they both escaped a potentially bad marriage.

Derek and Meredith - He loves her but she’s too emtionally twisted to be comfortable in a healthy relationship. I’ll be happy if she get’s some stiff competition to knock some sense into her head. She desperately needs it!

George/Izzie/Callie - I like Callie the best of the three and she definitely deserves better than George. He’s decent but such an emotional puppy who’s lapping at the heels of Izzie who really only loves what she can’t have (dying dudes and married men) and will manipulate others into getting what she wants…. *I love you George* blah blah retch. Izzie needs to go. Fast.

Glad that Bailey didn’t get Chief Resident. I love her - best character in the show, but IMO just because she lost this battle doesn’t mean she won’t win the war. This is probably as high as Callie is going to go - Bailey is slated to become greater and doesn’t need to be locked into the CR position. The future looks bright here!

I love you Alex! He did the right thing by not breaking up Eva/Rachel’s marriage. The old Alex would have thought only of himself but here we see Alex thinking of her husband, child and family unit’s needs above what his desires are. Bravo!! He’s becoming a class-act and I’m excited to see him next season!

If the finale was happy endings all around then realistically the show would have been written into a corner. Happy endings mean “THE END”.

This “finale” was terrible! I am trying so hard to forgive the writers for ruining Izzie’s character and now this! I guess if the actor who plays Burke got fired I can forgive that, but this BS with Meredith’s sister?! Just let them be at peace together for God’s sake. There is enough drama on the show without constantly messing with Derek and Meredith.

Did anyone think Derek was a bit of a jerk this episode? Meredith has lost so many people this season, he really seems to be HIGH MAINTAINANCE if you ask me. Yeah, we all know its a soap opera so whatever, but sometimes I think the writers are too hard on the women in the show.

    May 18, 2007 at 3:23 pm

PS– also Bailey TOTALLY deserved chief resident. They didn’t even show Richard talking to Bailey and telling her she didn’t get it. Like she wasnt even considered! She’s the best doctor there and I say that even liking Callie as much as I do– Bailey deserved it!

As I’ve been saying all day, this “finale” was HORRIBLE! It would be a subpar normal episode… at best! I’m not even upset about MerDer… I’m too busy thinking of the sheer stupidity of making McBar Skank Meredith’s sister and not making Baily chief resident and Alex and “Ava” and I could go on and on… Would whoever wrote the Denny arc please come back and write a show worth watching again?

I just now finished watching the season finale for the SECOND time, because I’m just that obsessed. I was sobbing by the time Cristina started ripping the necklace off both times. This second time, though, knowing what was coming, I started crying when Alex was searching for Ava. I do believe it’s made me lose all faith in humanity.

Or at least all faith in the writers of Grey’s.

Everyone is just so miserable. I think the point of that episode, the moral, was, no matter how hard you try to make it work and be happy, it’s flat out not going to happen…

Poor, poor Cristina. I can’t believe how big of a jerk Burke was. Poor George. I can’t believe he failed… They can’t very well bring him back after that, can they? He was one of my favorite characters. I do think he’s a jerk for not being there to witness one of his best friends being left at the alter.

It was alright… i do NOT like how they left Derek and Meredith. I want to know why Bailey was not picked and why Meredith was acting so strange. Come on they have to be okay that is what the show is based on. What is goin on with george? the left everyone so sad, why? There should have been a couple who had a happy ending for the season. Next season wont come fast enough for me.

  • Seriously
    May 18, 2007 at 6:41 pm

The finale was awful. I’m not referring to the “cliffhangers” either. I mean the writing was horrible. I’m glad the show isn’t touchy-feely and doesn’t try to have happy endings, but seriously, the finale toed the line with being completely ridiculous.

I can’t stand Addison, so I’m glad she’s leaving. Her character has lost her plot purpose ever since the divorce.

Callie becoming chief resident is a joke. I can see her leaving George after coming to terms with the reality of Izzy/George. This opens the door to Bailey.

Bailey better take on a more pivotal storyline next season. She is the best character and was wasted all season.

Alex and Mark should be in a competition for Lexie. Having her and Derek in any form of relationship would be stupid.

Richard should remain Chief, spend more time at home, and allow for Derek to learn on the job in a slow transition.

George will be back and repeat his internship year.

Christina should have been the one that failed.

Meredith deserves Derek’s spite. She has become obnoxious.

Izzy should get with George. She’s gone through a similar situation as George and will bring him back.

Just my thoughts. But again, the finale was extremely poorly written. The season was lackluster, especially in comparison to season 2. Hope it gets better and that The Office doesn’t get moved to 9pm, because it would be no contest between the two.

I apologize if this has already posted… it SAYS that it did but I can’t see it anywhere so I’m posting again…

One thing that no one has really mentioned… everyone is blaming MEREDITH for leaving Derek. What about the episode where she is trying to call him and he’s ignoring the phone. Then he pulls away from her because the Chief says that she is the reason he won’t be choosing Derek? As far as I’m concerned the downhill slide with that couple started with him being a self-serving jerk. Just my opinion, of course. He does have nice hair though. :)

    May 18, 2007 at 7:23 pm

I was very disappointed! When comparing to the finale last season which was a 9.5 this was a 2. I am saddened to see the writers just lose it so badly this year. They screwed up on so many levels….like with Gizzie and now the unbelievable back and forth with Mer.Der. I was glad to think that they are getting rid of Burke since he was always the weakest link but the prospect of losing George was a bit of a shock since he is the GLUE! I have absolutely no interest in what happens to Mer anymore since her last season of giving up and whining really goes against her first season of strength and personal character. Shonda really needs to see the value in the happy Derek scenes like when he was eating breakfast at Mer’s place. It is a real waste to not capitalize on Dempsey’s laugh and on screen moments of merriment which he does so well. Private Practice looks like a real snore and I will NOT be watching but will miss Addison from Grey’s. I hope that next season they do better. Unlike last year I am looking forward to my summer with no interest in the 4th season and am glad that the show is over for now.

    May 18, 2007 at 9:27 pm

Just watched on TIVO and I think that this Grey’s anatomy was beyond disappointing. I think that Christina having to do some surgery hours before her wedding was leading to her and Burke not getting married…I think the fact that Dr Shepherd did not take the position of Cheif speaks to his integrity, therefore, he probably will not have a romantic relationship with Meredith’s sister, but will probably try to be there for her on some level. I don’t know how Christina will fit in exactly. She was a very strong support for Burke’s character and probably will be awkward to see from now on. Her crying “I’m free” was confusing to me. It seemed like she was more relieved than sad yet shocked but my husband thinks she was going through a form or grief because she did really love him.

  • another thing
    May 18, 2007 at 9:38 pm

and another thing, I hate the lack of morale and values. It seems that the most of the relationships in this show are based or founded upon an affair of sorts. Where is the sense of loyalty. I hate that George feels torn between HIS wife and his bestfriend, who was in love with Denny not even a year ago! Why does he have to ruin it for Callie. (why was Callie telling Izzy about them having a baby She seems to always be suspicious of their relationship, but now she is telling her husband’s lover about getting pregnant?) I think that if George doesn’t leave the show for good, he will leave Callie and Izzy eventually.

I liked (not loved) the finale, though McDreamy and Meridith’s storyline needs to change. It’s too Big and Carrie as someone stated before…let McDreamy find someone…he’s too good for her and she’s too caught up in her own issues and such. But though I wasn’t thrilled about this episode, I’m ready for the fall!

well, firstly, 3 seasons for 1 internship year? And in one internship year, a lot of interesting cases happened? Two interns got married (and one was left at the altar), Mer survived near-death situations twice. And Derek seperated, reunited then divorced in one year! and not to mention all the weird surgical cases! In a city like Seattle with half a million population, only boring surgeries like mastectomy, appendectomy, CABG or something like that should be popular. And weirder, interns got to assist in all those interesting surgeries. I was hoping for residents like Dr. Bailey or Sydney Herron to assist instead of interns operating on heart tumors (and transplants) and brains! And where are the fellows (post-residents) who are about to be attendings?? Man! This series screwed up big time!

  • Dr. Efenem
    May 19, 2007 at 3:05 am

And just to add some more, if all doctors are having affairs here and there, they are not respectable enough! False potrayal of doctors! And for the record, Callie shouldn’t be chief resident because she slept with Sloan, and the recommendation must’ve come from Sloan. Let’s let Dr. Bailey and Sydney Herron compete.
Why should the writers of this series focus so much on affairs and other unimportant stuffs rather than the surgical career area itself? It’s a big disappoinment for people who want to be surgeons to watch this affair-based movies! Show more surgeries please! I’m kinda tired of these affairs.
And please do some improvements on season 4. Finale sucks

You all need to stop . Yes you will be tuning in next year. Why? Because you are junkies just like me. I am so over the derek and Meredith thing. But i’ll be back! I’m so over Alexis and his I’m to cool and mysterious to show I have feelings thing, But I’ll be back. I anticipated the sister in medical school that Thatcher used to talk about making an appearance at seattle Grace at some point, but to have any involvement with derek would be a sin, But I’ll be back! I really wanted christina and Burke to make it and wassooooo close, But I’ll be back! I hate hate hate this thing with Izzy and george and If they get together in any form I might not be back, But who am I kidding I’ll be back! One thing I will not be doing…watching that damn Private Practice I don’t know or want to know these people! And Honestly I can live w/o Addison! But I will see you ALL next year same Grey Time same Grey Place!

I read a few months back that when they hired the cast of Grey’s it was for a SEVEN YEAR contract. This past spring the cast was given a pay raise by the network because of the shows popularity. Breathe a sigh of relief Grey fans the only one leaving is Addison. And if her show doesn’t make it , it’s in her contract that she can come back to Grey’s.
I loved Thursday’s show. It left me feeling all the cast emotions. But new season please, please don’t let it end with Meredith and Dereks troubled relationship . That storyline is getting old.
Oh and for the die hard Grey’s fans(for those who don’t know about the Shondra page greymatters.com) check it out!

GA is turning into a one hell of a freaking soap opera…It’s so frustating…I’m a MerDer fan but…seriously…Derek needs to get over himself, if he sleeps with Lexie, GA is so over for me. I still love Meredith, you kinda understands why she is so screwed up…I think Mcsteamy is getting to be better choice for her…She needs fun in her relationship but then if she gets together with Sloan, then it’s over between her and Derek, and I still want them to end up together…just less drama please.

  • Colleen
    May 20, 2007 at 6:47 am

If they don’t end this Izzy/George thing, I’m done. I hate them together….there was no hint of attraction towards each other all season, and then Boom! They’re in love????

I was kind of hoping Izzy would leave the show.
Callie and Addison are the only comic relief this show has, and now they are both probably gone. Bailey never gets enough screen time, and I can’t handle the heavy drama the las
