- # 04/18 - Chris Lowell’s receptionist/surfer dude will be shirtless in a scene. It’s also pretty obvious in the pilot that he’s being groomed as a love interest for Merrin Dungey’s fertility expert. And Tim Daly is actually playing an alternative-medicine doc. - # 04/16 - Addison takes temporary leave from Seattle Grace and makes a road trip to Los Angeles in order to visit some old friends from medical school. As Meredith continues to bond with her stepmother, Susan, Cristina reluctantly plans her wedding with the assistance of her mother, Helen, and Burke’s mother, Mama Jane. Meanwhile, Derek must perform emergency surgery on Ava/Jane Doe, as Alex continues his unfailing bedside manner with her. Featuring an all-star guest cast including Paul Adelstein (”Prison Break”), Amy Brenneman (”Judging Amy”), Tim Daly (”The Fugitive,” “The Nine”), Taye Diggs (”Rent,” “Day Break”), Merrin Dungey (”Alias”) and Chris Lowell (”Veronica Mars”). Joan, the pregnant woman, slept with three men the week before she got married, which is why no one knows who the real father is. When she’ll get the paternity results, Joan will be stunned. - # 03/29 - Following her recent disastrous romantic misfortunes, Addison travels to Santa Monica, Calif., to seek advice from her old medical school pals, Naomi (Merrin Dungey) and Jackson (Taye Diggs) whom she believes have it all: a beautiful teenage daughter, a great marriage and a highly successful health cooperative. Addison quickly learns that Jackson, also a successful TV health guru, has divorced Naomi. During the visit, Addison also meets the rest of the gang at the cooperative: a widowed alternative medicine doctor, a self-doubting therapist, and a male gynecologist who knows little about women, and realizes she is on familiar ground. Addison concludes that the personal lives of the people around her may be a mess, but professionally they stand out. So she decides to leave Seattle Grace behind and join the Oceanside Wellness Group team. That is, of course, if ABC picks up the series, which is a good bet since the cast — which also includes Chris Lowell (”Veronica Mars”), Amy Brenneman (”Judging Amy”), Tim Daly (”The Nine”) and Paul Adelstein (”Prison Break”) — was already paraded before the people with the big bucks. # 03/28 - The heavily anticipated Kate Walsh led Grey’s Anatomy spin off finally has a name - at least, a tentative one. ABC unveiled the moniker for the new show at a star studded media buyers event during network development week. […] ‘Private Practice’, is the name the Grey’s Anatomy spin off will be called by for now, but ABC exec’s are quick to caution that this may change. Source: BuddyTV - # 03/27 - Sources say Addison will be reunited with her god-daughter, daughter of Addison’s best friend (played by Merrin Dungey) who is a world-renown fertility expert and the big wig at a wellness center. - # 03/27 - Hector [Elizondo] does play Callie’s dad, and yes, he is in the spinoff setup episode, but no, Hector is not involved in the spinoff itself, as had been reported in many outlets. So, Mr. Torres and Addison are not running away together. And as I reported in this week’s Vine show, she’ll have her eye on the sexed up receptionist, Sean Faris from Life as We Know It. - # 03/25 - Three men fight over who is the father of a woman’s soon-to-be-born baby. In the ER, the doctor treating the mother (Joan) is concerned that the delivery could be dangerous for both the baby and the mom to be. Jane and Paul, a seemingly happy couple, visits a therapist as their sex life is not the best. One of the lead characters tries to settle a dispute involving a gay man who used to be married, left his wife, had a thing with another woman to make sure he was really gay, met a man, and got “married.” Add to this the fact that one of the women from his past is acting as a surrogate mother for him and his life partner. There is an awkward scene when a woman meets the 20-year-old fiancé of one of her old friends. A plastic surgeon meets with 30-year-old Beverly who is all about looking great thanks to constant plastic surgeries. This time, she wants a chemical peel; she also wants the hot surgeon but that’s another story. - # 03/21 - Addison comes to the conclusion that McSteamy is about a decade away from becoming father material, and hightails it to Los Angeles to meet with one of the world’s foremost fertility experts. Mrs. Egg Harvester is also one of Addison’s BFFs and the owner of a state-of-the-art wellness center, which just so happens to be looking for a neonatal specialist. # 03/14 - Per one very well-placed mole, the hospital where Addison will accept her new job will be located in Los Angeles! That’s right, Doc Montgomery’s going Hollywood! Sources confirm that plastic surgery and psychiatry will play as prominent roles in the show as Addison’s chosen field of neonatology. In fact, according to a source who read the script for the pilot, er, I mean the “enhanced two-hour Grey’s episode with a potential for afterlife,” there are multiple scenes set in a shrink’s office and another scene involving a pampered Beverly Hills princess contemplating a chemical peel with her hot plastic surgeon. She’ll be African-American, and I’m told her name might be Naomi. I’m also hearing about a young guy named Dell who’s very cute and could be joining Olivia at the nurses’ station! Well you know how it says that Burke turns to someone about his wedding second thoughts i bet you people that it is going to be Izzy because she told him about her and George so he will probably start to talk to her more.
McSteamy and merdith should hook up Sloan and Addison are over and McDreamy and Merdith are having problems so why not?

I enjoyed the extra long show tonight. I think Addison’s new show has potential but it will not be another Grey’s. (How could it?) I’m so disappointed that they can’t give Mer/Der a little happiness. It is so tragic that Thatcher slaps Meredith — as if she wasn’t already feeling bad enough — and broken enough already. And why couldn’t she have let Derek comfort her as she walked away from her dad? This show needs to mend Mer/Der. They are the heart and soul of this show and they’ve got to let them heal each other and be happy.

I have to say I was rather disappointed with the Addison sping-off. It doesn’t look that interesting and certainly doesn’t have the Grey’s vibe. I think it would be rather difficult to recreate that specific chemsitry of the first show, and I’m not sure that it will survive. It’s got the same concepts going for it, but I’m just not sure the central character is interesting enough…without all of her Seattle drama to come with her!
As for the rest of the show, how tragic! I will be so sad if Mer/Der break up,and George and Izzy! My god I don’t know what’ll happen there either.
I’ll stayed tuned for next week for sure.

This spin off was HORRIBLE! None of the characters interested me and I have no excitement about watching future episodes. What a waste of such talented actors. I, too, felt like I was tortured & I just couldn’t wait for the scenes to be taken back to Seattle Grace. I honestly thought tonight was going to be more about Grey’s characters and only a fraction of it devoted to the spin off. Come to find out it was ALL about the spin off…waited a whole week for this??? Disappointing…

I was soo looking forward to this episode for a whole week..and i just felt so bored! it was all about the spin off and barely Grey’s! And what about the whole Meredith thing? Nobody did anything!?!?!?…Plus Burke has been making Christina to change throughout season 2 and 3 and he threatens her that he isnt gonna wait around..and now he has second thoughts.? it doesnt make sense..thats not he’s character!

I agree, this ep was terrible. It was like some crap (the news spinoff cast) kept on getting in the way of my regular Greys. I tried to like the new cast, but I couldn’t connect to any of the characters and they couldn’t act their way out of a 2 sided box.
But that didn’t matter, since Greys was crap too. Seriously, the writers need to learn that you don’t have to kill people to make an interesting plot. Now it’s just getting old. Leave Meredith alone. That whole thing could have been far more developed.
And the previews of Derek in the bar with that butt ugly girl? That’s a load of crap too. After season 1 where he falls in love with meredith, season 2 where he fights for he, and season 3 where he saves her life….and now he’s picking up a girl in a bar? That’s just BS.
The writers need to get their heads out of their asses. Sure the show’s been a great success, but it can also bomb if this keeps going on. Just look at what happened to the OC.

OMG! Kill the new show before it starts! It was HORRIBLE!! Did they get a 15 year old to write it?! “I’m going to kiss you with tongue.” Huh?! A surfer/receptionist?! A talking elevator?! This show has already jumped the shark before it started. Kill it now!!!

I have watched this show since episode one waiting for Derek & Meredith to fianlly get with each other if they are going to break them up then bring back Chris O’Donnel as the cute vet w/ a heart of gold - at least make it interesting again. Burke has to elope w/ Christina at city hall after putting her thru so much it has to be his way of making the ultimate commitment & thanking her for all her efforts! Poor callie someone help this girl, what about hooking up Callie & Alex.

I can handle Derek breaking up with Meredith because she’s ruining his career, or because of some girl he met in a bar, because he “can’t breathe for her”, or because she is too selfish. I can handle Burke having second thoughts after all his effort to change Christina. Sure, normal, Grey’s wouldn’t be such a success if Mer was happy forever with mcdreamy and Christina turned into a housewife. What I CAN’T HANDLE is Izzie/George’s sex. Innapropriate. I really believed in friendship like that, with no sexual interest, but apparently, Shonda doesn’t. Izzie, George and Callie were out of plot, so she just made it up as an excuse to make them do something stupid. Those interns are more childish than normal.

did any one hear what Dr. A. Shepard said on Access Hollywood?? Did she say “All but two cast members will be returning next season.” or “Only two cast members will be returning next season.” We had a tornado scare and Access Hollywood was cut into with weather info.

i kinda think that the addison spin off might be somewhat interesting. i do wish they would leave merder alone they should be together. they need to stop screwing up their relationship because it is pissing me off. merder is one of the reasons i watch the darn show. derek best not cheat on merideth with that slut in the bar. if merder break up then i don’t know if i will watch the show any more.
