  I’m wondering if he is soul searching, in light of his gay remark, and is trying to ground himself and humble himself. He is, perhaps, trying to not be so full of himself. Perhaps he is working on keeping humble and staying out of the lime light. I really wouldn’t want him to short change himself, but I respect what I think he is doing. He does an excellent job on his character in Grey’s Anatomy. He’s a very talented man and I wish him continued success.

  I think that he did it simply as a strategic move to get some positive attention regarding his motivations and supposed change of character. It seems contrived and to be honest, as the worst actor on the show, not much of a sacrifice on his part.

  i think Preston burke (Isaiah Washington) is a brilliant character in GA and he is an excellent actor, one of the finest in the series. How can anyone say he is the worst? He is the absolute most arrogant, typical alpha male, egoistic man character and even if its because he is like that in real person, doesn’t make him a bad actor.

  He should WIN the Emmy award.

  Is Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) character really out of Grey’s???

  HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE Ms Rhimes???!!! Then what is the point of watching Grey’s Anatomy anymore? You have just killed of the pillar of the show!

  R u telling me you all in Grey’s anatomy can’t even give Isaiah a second chance? Don’t you all believe in second chances…He is only human you know…

  This is heart wrenching…I love his acting, his character was witty, smug and very manly. Something we need on Grey’s…And you just killed it off?????

  Isn’t there any chance of bringing him back? How can we watch Christina now? Its truly ridiculous, GA is having a 360 degrees change from its original wit and charm and becoming extremely depressing, unenjoyable and just plain weird to watch now…

  Pls Shonda…if there is any way within your power…do bring Preston Burke back. There is only one PRESTON BURKE.

  hi monica…

  i’m totally agree with your opinion…preston burke is my sweetheart in grey’s eventhough he is no longer in the show…the news that he got fired by ABC totally a heart broken news for me…his character in the show is so appealling. he potrayed as a decent and very manly character especially how he expressed his love to cristina yang…their love is so sweet and unique in their own way…

  i love preston burke…i love isaiah washington and i strongly agree that everybody deserves a second chance…i cannot imagine somebody else replacing his place…he is just great by being burke in the show..wish him all the best…i really hope and pray that he’ll be back for season 5…

  He should have won and Emmy and he should have been allowed to stay on Grey’s. He is a superb actor…the show’s loss!
