Katherine Heigl to Star in ‘27 Dresses’
Katherine Heigl has been cast to star in the upcoming romantic comedy 27 Dresses, a film written by screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada), and directed by Anne Fletcher (The 40 Year Old Virgin).
The film will begin shooting in May when Grey’s Anatomy goes into hiatus. Here’s a bit of the premise:
Heigl will play a single woman who has served as a bridesmaid 27 times. She is enlisted once again for the job, and this time it’s particularly painful: Her sister is marrying the man the bridesmaid is madly in love with.
Sounds fun. Can’t wait to see it!

Grey’s better get their butts in gear and re-up that girl. Between this and the current success of “Knocked Up” she’s on the verge of becoming a bonafide Movie Star. They’d be fools no to do what it takes to keep her. Between cast members leaving for the spin-off and those who were let go, the fans are gonna get pretty p*ssed off if they don’t try and maintain as much of the core cast as possible.
