Grey’s Anatomy Cast Peeved Over Spinoff
Wow. According to MSNBC, the rest of the cast of Grey’s Anatomy is resentful of Kate Walsh because they each felt deserving of their own show. Interestingly, Ellen Pompeo “seemed particularly peeved because she felt that as the star, she should have been consulted.”
“The rest of the cast seemed instantly resentful of [Walsh],” a source told Star. “They each thought they’d be the one chosen to get their own show, and now they’re giving Kate the cold shoulder.”
I wonder if when they say “the rest of the cast” they really mean everyone, because certainly there’s at least one ego-less person in that show? No?
Do you think they have a reason to be peeved? I think the rest of the characters are entirely too central to Meredith’s life to warrant their own spinoff.

I hate the fact that she is leaving the show to star in her own. The show will never make it anywhere. She needs to stay where shes at. She can’t leave.

I’m not sure why any of the characters whould want to leave Greys Anatomy. It is the most popular show on TV and already has a huge fan base. I love Kate Walsh as well…but it isn’t going to be a walk the park…people are expecting great thing from this show and some how I don’t believe it will even be comparable to Greys Anatomy…I wish Kate would stay and everyone would get along. I worry that all this feuding will be the end of our beloved show :(

It is sad to think that such a great show holds a bunch of whiners. Why would you worry about it?? It will probably flop, most likely won’t be able to hold a candle to Grey’s. What I am most worried about is that I read the K. Heigle (Izzy) may not re up her contract because she is not getting the pay or the recognition that some of the other cast are getting. I hope that they all come to their senses!
As for giving Kate the cold shoulder? Why?? Why would Ellen (Mer) be worried about it? Grey’s Anantomy after all is about HER. Duh! What do you want two shows about you? Good Grief! If anything I would feel bad for Addison if her show flopped because then she would be out of a job and off one of the best shows around!

There is just so much drama around the show (even if it’s hyped up by the media), I fear that the show won’t make it past season 5, maybe even 4. As much as I would love for Kate to stay I think her leaving is going to be one of the things that makes Grey’s fresh. They have taken the Mer/Der/Addi storyline about as far as they could. Anything more would be repeating it. So I can see where this is coming from. But what will it mean for the off-camera environment on the set? And now with the financial disputes…It is in fact Shonda who is behind the spin-off so who knows, it could be good.

Can we say “SELF-DESTRUCTING”. Why do people have to mess with a good thing? The spin off will never survive. No one wants just Addison. It is the entire cast that makes Grey’s a great show. STOP THE MADNESS!

i really hope that kate doesnt get her own show - i like her character on greys now (she isn’t my fav but i still like her) why does she get to have her own show? i know the show is called greys anatomy but everyone is part of the show - it won’t last - when FRIENDS ended joey had his own show called JOEY and it flopped it was only out for a couple of seasons i think and i didnt think it was that great but thats just me….i hope kate can just stay on greys and all the DRAMA can stop between the cast….

I have a really hard time believing “everyone on the show” is pissed that Kate Walsh is getting her own show. Sounds like the usual manufactured spin that gets floated as “news”.

i think the rest of the cast deserve to be informed about the plan of having a spin-off…. it’s not that the management is obligated but out of respect at least. Grey’s is still on top, so why create a spin-off?

This doesn’t have to do with this topic but i want to post it on all of the comment sections.
ON MARCH 15 GREY’S ANATOMY IS ON AT 8:00 AND UGLY BETTY IS ON AT 7:00. THERE IS A NEW PILOT AT 9:00. I AM NOT SURE THAT THIS WILL LAST BUT JUST TRY TO REMEMBER SO YOU DON’T MISS IT.

It seems to me that it is too early to do a spin off show. I don’t think people have enough invested in the character Kate plays to fit another show into their schedule. Don’t we all have other shows we like and lives to lead?

I actually have no life BUT I do like other shows, just not as much as Greys. You never know, Aaron Spelling did a couple shows that aired back to back that did well, 90210 & Melrose Place ( Big fan of Melrose ), so you never know.

The whole cast thing giving kate the cold shoulder was a big lie and the usual oppurtunity to try to mess with the show and its cast… the only comment was from Kath. Heigle commenting that she expected the 8 million Izzie got would be enough to spin her off into her own show. “She jokingly said, It should have been me”
Ellen Pompeo, Patrick demsey and Sarah Ramirez all commented recently in a video i saw on youtube that they are very happy for Kate, sad to see her leave but see this as a great chance for her because her character has nothing else to do on Grey’s. (Not sure about the rest of the cast though)
