T.R. Knight On Ellen DeGeneres Show
T.R. Knight was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked all about what happened back in October.
You can watch as T.R. Knight retells what happened on the set. He said he was around the corner when he heard Isaiah Washington refer to him as a “faggot”.
The video preview for the interview can be found here.
I’m not sure how long it’s going to be online so click quickly, if you missed the full interview.
I think what upsets me most about this whole thing is the lying. Why lie? How do you have respect for someone who not only has complete disrespect for fellow human beings, but then goes on to lie about it publically? I’m referring, of course, to Washington’s denial that the incident ever happened in the first place.

I have been a fan of Grey’s Anatomy since Day#1!! T.R.Knight is the Most Awesome Actor, the sweetest guy on that show…. Which he seems to be so awesome off the show also. I find it very sad that Isaiah Washington has been fighting with different co-stars on that show. I think Isaiah Washington should not be on Greys Anatomy anymore, for causing so much conflict and that will only bring the show down. He isn’t the only main person that makes up that show, and I think T’R Knight is much more of an actor and a man than Isaiah W. I missed the feud that happened between these two, but listening to all of it thru the media, makes T.R.Knight Look awesome as a person and Isaiah look, well some would say like an “Ass.” Pardon my french. We all love you T.R.!!! We will always watch you from Hutchinson, Kansas!!!!!

Who ever agrees - write/email (bombard) the producers of ‘Grey’s anatomy’ - “the ignorant one has to go”

Did I hear someone call me a faggot?
NO
Dang guys, he misheard someone else while they were fighting with someone else. TR injected himself into it.
TR get over yourself and your coming out because of this….you are just being dumb about this.
The other guy said he did not say that…can you imagine yourself being wrong? Or are you perfect?
Respecting people confirming what happened instead of what TR is trying to do by doing a public lynching of another man.

tombaker - you are really full of it.
TR did not start this, nor did he “inject” himself into it. What Washington said is a matter of record for all those present who heard him, which was basically the entire cast and crew.
By all accounts TR and other cast members accepted Washington’s apology and noone has spoken of it since.
Until Washington decided take back his apology and tell an outright lie denying what happened.
The entire fiasco lay on Washington’s shoulders - lay off TR.
I certainly won’t call you a faggot, but I WILL say that you come across as an ass.

I totally agree with you JCW !!! TR did nothing and Washington needs to learn to shut his mouth and quit getting into arguements with the cast members!! I think this time, he went way to far with the names calling…

Leanne -
Thanks for the supportive words, but it’s worth noting that when it comes to sexual orientation, few, if any people
“choose” who they are attracted to.
Hope you’ll take that in the spirit it’s intended as you sound like a right-minded person to me!

Let’s just call this like it is. TR would have used the N word he would have been fired already. Oh yeah by the way were are all the brothers & sisters on this? No scolding from Jessie Jackson for Mr. Washington.

Washington should be fired. PERIOD. He should have been fired back then(choking another actor/being physical is not ok! Set the behavior straight and don’t tolerate bad behavior~ we don’t let our kids get away w/ bad behavior, so why should we w/ actors or anyone in any profession!). Now completely denying what he said…and then saying that word~ It just angers me and I can not seeing that show w/ any sympathy for Dr. Burke. What an ASS. There’s nothing more to say. Fire him!! There are plenty of other good actors that will not act that way. How would he like it if someone called him a N____er?! He must apologize. Gray’s Anatomy must do something!! He is ruining my Thursdays. What a stupid, ignorant, backward person…and his wife who laughed w/ him. What a complete idiot.

Tom Baker is very uninformed. Why would the entire cast back TR over the slur by Washington?? Did the everybody get it wrong but Washington? I don’t see one of the cast or producers coming to his support.
Gee.. I wonder why? BECAUSE IT’S TRUE!

Well, although the site has yet to be
updated to reflect it, both ABC and Washington have issued statements.
ABC says that they’re not happy and looking into the matter. Their wording sounded quite stern.
About an hour later cam Washington’s latest apology - nowhere did he admit he lied at the GGs, but he does go on and on about how sorry he is and how great TR is.
Frankly, considering the timing, I’m left cold by this apology. I bought it once, and then he took it back. Seems to me that Washington’s only regret is risking his job.
Just one man’s opinion.

Guys Guys Guys, do you really know what really happened on the set and what really transpired?
funky mom i know you probably think that being called a f*ggot and bein called a n*gger is on the same level, but its really not. not that i dont think f*ggot is very offensive, but just not on the same level.
and leane how would u know of mr. washingtons education and how smart he is or how good he is as an actor. IMO he is a good actor. obviously the media likes it to take it to grand porportions, but i dont really think isaiah has anything against gay people/community or T.R.
very inexperienced in dealing with press i’ll say because i dont think he thought the national coverage the globes got.

Shane,
I respectfully request you educate yourself regarding hate speech. Yes, indeed, the “F” word is every bit as offensive, derogatory and dangerous as the “N” word. Why don’t you Google gay hate crimes and take a look at the stats? Perhaps if you are gay or mistaken for gay, and some bashers started hurling the “F” word at you as they attempted to crush YOUR skull in, you’d feel differently. Hate is HATE - it does not come in degrees of acceptablity.
And unless you are implying that T.R. Knight is a liar - despite having handled this entire incident with dignity - we do indeed know that Washington used the “F” word in reference to him.
Washington has been acting for many years…. I do not read his behaviour with the press as “inexperience”, to me it reads “arrogance”.

Words do not destroy a strong man. Richards from Seinfeld was protected from every direction and he used the “N” word… lots! The person allegedly slandered, can stand up for himself. He doesn’t need female from the cast to protect him on national television. I think it would do the show harm firing one of the main characters involved in a love affair on the show.

By all means, Audrey - let’s not do anything that might disrupt a plotline the fans are enjoying!
What’s your issue with a fellow cast member standing up to call Washington out for lying at the Golden Globes? Katherine WAS THERE and knows more of what goes on behind the scenes than any outsider. Knight did not ASK her to make a statement - that was her decision and she did it immediately following the incident.
I suppose if someone verbally abused YOU in the workplace that you’d have a tizzy if a co-worker stood up and said “That’s just wrong”?
As to the “allegedly slandered” portion of your comment, what do you need? A video of the incident? You think T.R. went on Ellen and talked about it for thrills?
I’m sorry Audrey, but your comment just comes across as being really shallow and unfeeling.

I wrote a long blog article on this matter. In part….The silence of too many in our country over Washington’s hateful word is, I fear, a sign of homophobia in America, and the moral drift that comes with this hatred. ABC should have stepped in at once and denounced the words used by Washington. If the network thinks that this issue is just going to go away as their ad revenues just keep rolling, I suggest they might have a rude awakening. Gay people buy products…..and they can also stop buying certain products that get advertised on shows with actors like Washington who uses the ‘f’ word.

i do not understand why Knight had to go on the Ellen show, i think he is just looking for sympathy.I do not accept what was said by Isaiah Washington but i think that this has been blown out of proportion. I love Isaiah washington and i have been watching the show from the beginning, I hope Isaiah gets the help he needs and i still think that this has been blow way out of proportion, i hope all the cast members heal and we can move so that people like me can believe that they all get along in real life like on the set.

Alexis, Alexis, Alexis…
Yes, the media keeps this story going, but Isaish Washington said what he said….on live TV with a bizillion people watching….It was disgusting what he said, and how he said it!!
This man you ‘love’ makes more money per episode than most of us make in a year. He has to be held accountable for his words and actions. And the only way he’ll learn it - is if there’s serious consequences for him (i.e. getting fired)
re: TR Knight looking for sympathy…Did you see the show? He was absolutely ‘devastated’ by Washingtons comments……and I don’t believe for one momment it was about getting sympathy.

Hate is hate, no matter if it comes in the form of a punch or a derogatory slur, such as the on Washington used to describe Knight. It is in my opinion that Washington should be fired or put on probation at the very least for his conduct, and be made to make a public AND written apology to Knight. Now, that I am finished with my soapbox, I will move on to my specialty, match-making. I do not know Knight’s current relationship status, but if he is single, I think he and Lance Bass should meet for drinks or something.

Knight is reportedly dating the actor who played the love interest for the gay lawyer on “Brothers & Sisters”, I’ve seen photos and they make a nice couple.
Lance Bass?…Uh…no.

We are in a soceity where we made it okay to use such words as the “F” or “N” words, it’s really all television and our faults.
