Grey’s Anatomy’s Music Supervisor: Alexandra Patsavas
January 4, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz
Alexandra Patsavas is the one we should thank every week for the glorious music found on Grey’s Anatomy. The 38-year-old independent music supervisor is in charge of finding great music for our favorite show’s episodes. And if you like The O.C. (which I hear is now cancelled), well, she picks the music for them too.
So let’s take a moment to send our thanks over to Alexandra for having such good taste in music.
Also, if you’re interested in adding some new tunes to your list, Alexandra recommends the following:

In related news, Scottish singer K.T. Tunstull (one of my personal faves) has Grey’s Anatomy (and by extention Alexandra Patsavas) to thank for her current success. Her tunes are appearing all over ABC’s shows!
To read more about Alexandra, check out this New York Post article which tells you how she goes about finding the right music.

I love KT Turnstall !
Paolo Nutini is lovely.

I manage a great singer/songwriter/musician by the name of Lisa Bouchelle. http://www.lisabouchelle.com
We recently spent 2 weeks at Bon Jovi’s home & studio creating Lisa’s new CD. It’s being distributed by Iniversal’s Fontana division with CSR. Cd is in stores April 3rd. We are on TKO records in Japan and on airplay now. She sang with Springsteen & Bon Jovi in NJ in December and aklo Cindi Lauper, Darryl Hall & Rob Thomas. I could go on with the credibility, but the songs are what is Key. So how can I get this to Alexandra or how can I contact her?
Thanks for reading this.

Hi there!
I’m wondering if you can help me.
I heard a song which was played on a trailer for Grey’s Anatomy. It was for series 3 and I think it’s the 5 one of that series.
The trailer was showed on Living TV about a month ago in the UK and since I heard it, I’ve been searching everyday on the net trying to find out the song. Sometimes up to six hours.
Here ’s a link to the trailer which I found on youtube:

If you find out what this song is I’ll be soooo so so happy. I know you don’t know me and you probably don’t care,
but I really need to know this song it’s so beautiful and I want it so badly : (
Please help.

Thank you for following the work of Alexandra Patasavas. Everytime I watch Grey’s Anatomy I think about my favorite band THE SKETCHES and wonder if there is some way to connect with Ms. Patasavas so that she can hear how perfect this incredible band would be on an episode. The lead singer/writer of THE SKETCHES, Charlie Bernardo, writes songs that have substance and heart. This band is going to be huge. Legendary Michael Barbiero (their producer) is a major fan, as well as the famous cook Rachael Ray and her husband John Cusimano. Ms. Patasavas needs to check them out…she won’t regret it. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kimberly
I heard a song played last night on the episode Crash into Me by a Danny fellow. Could you kindly help me out, i really love this song
I’d like some direction on how I can get my song in Alexandra’s hands. It’s not only powerful, but appropriate for a show like Grey’s. Like most artists I’m just looking for a shot. How do I move forward? Thanks, Jason
We would love Alexandra, to hear even a sample of our work, songwriting and sound.
If there is contact for her, please sent us the details.
Many thanks

Can anyone tell me what the title to the trailer, which i saw on tv this week? Just about made out some lyrics; ‘what you gonna live for, what you gonna die for….’ something like that?
Thanks!

I compose music for film/television in a variety of genres, but my work specializes in Trip hop and chillout. Any contact for Alexandra would be fantastic - she is a legend!
