Shonda Rhimes Interview
Detroit News has a spotlight article featuring our beloved Shonda Rhimes. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but there’s some nice quotes and info from and about Shonda.
For instance, did you know she used to work as a candy striper?
“I loved that job,” she recalled the other day. “I’m perfectly comfortable in hospitals.” She also admits to having a passion for shows about medical procedures: the pressure, the blood, the scalpels, she finds it all intriguing. “I love to watch all those surgeries on the Discovery Channel and the Learning Channel,” she said. “I’m a surgical junkie.”
In addition to that, she comments a bit on her reaction to the show’s popularity:
“I knew that I really liked it, my friends liked it, my family liked it, but it never occurred to me that stuff I came up with at home in my pajamas people would respond to,” she said, adding that fans often approach her in the grocery quoting lines from the show. “It’s all still surreal to me.”
Gotta love those inpirational pajamas. :)

I’m so happy for Ms. Rhimes and proud that a sista has managed to get a one-hour drama on television. That’s no easy feat.
I know, because I’m a producer and have struggled in the industry for a long time.
I’m not crazy about fictional medical shows, but like Shonda, I love the real medical ones.
I hope the recent disturbance involving Isaiah Washington will settle down soon and be resolved amicably for everyone. My mother used to say, your mouth will get you in trouble. She sure was right about that in his case. I’m glad to hear he’s getting help and I think it was brave of him to admit his problem.

hey i love this show very much ,its just that i want to merdeth and derek to stay together at the end of the show cause i really like them both and i don’t want them to seprate
