‘Side Effects’ on DVD Soon

April 24, 2006 by Ingrid Diaz

If you haven’t heard, Katherine Heigl is starring in an indie film called Side Effects, which tackles the issue of pill-pushing by big pharmaceutical companies.

In Side Effects, Heigl plays Karly Hert, a drug industry sales rep, battling with love, ethics and a discontented career pushing pills for big pharma.

“Katherine knocked our socks off. From day one she knew her character inside and out, and she nailed the role,” said writer/director Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau.

The film is making a tremendous impact because Slattery-Moschkau speaks from experience. Based on her decade of experience working as a drug sales rep, Side Effects examines the pill-pushing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry’s leading companies.

For those of you who haven’t ran to the movie theaters yet or simply can’t wait to see it again, the DVD comes out on May 16th.

I saw Katherine in an episode of The Twilight Zone yesterday on the INHD channel. She played a maid for a baby Adolph Hitler.
Anyways, I was excited to see her. :)
    Cheers.
