The ratings are in and it looks like Grey’s Anatomy helped ABC win in the ratings this past week, at least in terms of key demographic. According to Reuters, 15.6 million viewers tuned into watch the medical drama, 8 million tuned in to watch Ugly Betty and 11.3 million tuned in for Lost.
CBS came second to ABC in key demographic, but it did attract more viewers. Survivor had 12.7 million, CSI had 17.8 million, and Without a Trace pulled in 14.6 million.
NBC came in third, and FOX and the CW did their best to hang in there.
Ratings, overall, are still on the low side compared to the pre-strike days, so it looks like television as a whole is going to be suffering from the effect of the strike for a while to come.
According to “a source” at Canada.com, Katherine Heigl has been trying to leave Grey’s Anatomy due to long hours and a desire to “move on.” Hm. I am very hesitant to believe this at all, unless she’s decided she enjoys films more than television. She’s currently filming The Ugly Truth, a romantic comedy also starring Gerard Butler.
No official confirmation of this has been spotted so I’m hoping this proves to be an ugly rumor and nothing more. I can’t imagine Grey’s Anatomy without Izzie.
We’ve gotten three new episodes in the past three weeks, and after the very long hiatus, I’m curious where you guys stand in terms of favorite episodes. So which of the three that have aired so far did you enjoy the most? Was it “Where the Wild Things Are” the very first episode after the strike? Or was it “Pieces of my Heart” guest starring Kate Walsh? Or maybe last night’s episode really did it for you?

I haven’t gotten a chance to see last night’s episode yet because I’m away from home, but of the first two, I loved “Pieces of My Heart.” I can’t tell if it was all due to the greatness of having Addison back at Seattle Grace or if it was more than that. But overall, it was a nearly perfect episode for me. I’ll reserve my vote until I can see “The Becoming,” though. What about you?
I’m currently away in Cannes, France, so I won’t get a chance to catch this episode until I get back home, but that doesn’t mean you guys can’t discuss it without me!
Tonight things with Meredith and McDreamy seem to be moving forward - finally. Callie and McSteamy get… steamy? And Dr. Burke makes a reappearance … in photograph form.
But alas, no more Addison. She did make last week’s episode the best one in a while, thought, didn’t she? I really miss Kate Walsh.
