Grey’s Anatomy 6.09 “New History” Promo
November 6, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Next week’s episode is all new again and there’s good news for you Izzie fans: She’s baaaack! Also back in what looks to be a more present form is Meredith! She was particularly absent from last night’s episode, save for a cute exchange with both Cristina and Derek. But that’s definitely understandable given the fact that she’d just given birth. Looks like she’s good to go though starting next week. And boy does Izzie’s return look to be bringing a whole lot of drama with it.
Izzie pregnant?? Is it Alex’s?? Is it even true? Recall that Shonda Rhimes stated that they didn’t do babies at Seattle Grace – was she lying to throw us off or is Izzie not really pregnant? Perhaps it’s not Izzie that Meredith is talking to? They cut to Izzie but perhaps she was talking to someone else entirely? Cristina? Lexie? Bailey? The Chief? Wait, that wouldn’t work.

Burke Coming Back? Little to No Chance
November 5, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
When it comes to television, it’s usually safe to maintain a “never say never” mentality. Situations change all of the time, contracts change all of the time. Bridges are burned. Issues are fixed. People move on. People come back. And when it comes to Grey’s Anatomy there is an ever-revolving door of actors entering and exiting.
So it’s a fair and resonable request – and one that I see very often – to want Burke to return to Seattle Grace. The topic keeps coming back over and over again, and I see it in the comments over and over again, so I wanted to reiterate that while I still maintain a “never say never” philosophy, the current state of things is that Burke is never coming back.
It has even been suggested to Shonda Rhimes that she recast Burke with a different actor if the issue is with Isaiah Washington. But – and I’m relieved to hear this – she feels that none of the characters on the show are re-castable. I think there’s a lot of viewers that don’t mind it when a different actor comes in for a character, but I seriously loathe it when that happens.
Unfortunately, with regards to Burke, it means that it’s very, very unlikely that he’ll ever return to Grey’s Anatomy.
The most recent quote by Shonda Rhimes on the topic of whether she feels that the Burke storyline was left lingering is, “I feel like we really played that storyline out in the way we meant to play it out – and I think it worked.”
But for the sake of conversation, if left up to you, would you bring Burke back? And would you be okay with it being a different actor that plays him?

Grey’s Anatomy 6.08 “Invest in Love” Sneak Peek #3
November 5, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Poor Alex. He’s not catching a break this season. Or any season, for that matter. In this sneak peek we see him getting slapped in the face by reality – again. The Chief hands Karev a folder containing the unpaid bills left by his absentee wife. As it turns out, Alex is now saddled with both a broken heart and a hell-load of medical bills. It’d be nice if Izzie would wander back into the hospital and keep Alex from losing his mind. There’s only so much this guy can take!
Also, it looks like our Mercy Wester, Reed, continues to take an interest in Alex. Love is in the air? Only a matter of time, probably.
Grey’s Anatomy 6.08 “Invest in Love” Sneak Peek #2
November 5, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
In this sneak peek for tonight’s episode – “Invest in Love” – Dr. Arizona Robbins gives two devastated parents really bleak news about their dying son. But the father refuses to give up and demands that Dr. Robbins buys their son more time until they can find a cure.
All that boy needs is more fairy dust and a miracle or two! I’m sure the Seattle Gracers can whip some of that up.

Next time I’m hospitalized I’m requesting fairy dust in my IV!

Is everyone ready for this week’s episode? It looks like it’s going to be another edge-of-your-seat adventure and this time it’s all about saving a newborn baby. Go Arizona! How cute does Alex look holding that baby, by the way? But aside from the baby drama, there are other terrifying plots afoot, and if you’re a big fan of Cristina and Hunt you may want to find a tissue box or perhaps a punching bag, depending on where you fall on the depressed to angry spectrum. Or you can just avoid the promo altogether and wait until Thursday for the full thing.
For those of you that are impatient, here goes another official promo:

Kevin McKidd Stars in Short Film ‘One Night Emergency’
November 2, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
This year’s Inverness Film Festival kicks off on November 11th, so if you’re in the UK and love Kevin McKidd, you may want to make a special point of clearing your schedule on November 13. Our beloved Scottish actor is starring in a short film entitled One Night Emergency, which “charts one man’s journey through the wards of an overrun, inner-city hospital” in search of his wife.
Directed by playwright Gregory Burke, this film borrows from the classic Homer’s Odyssey and should prove to be a worthwhile 59 minutes. Plus: Kevin McKidd. Other actors: Michelle Ryan (who plays McKidd’s wife), Igal Naor, James Cosmo, Ewen Bremner, David Hayman, Gary Lewis, Jamie Sives, Sanjeev Kohli.
For those of you that can make it, the film will be showing on November 13 at 8:30pm at the Playhouse Cinema, Eden Court.
You can find out more about the film and the Inverness Film Festival at its official site.
Official film summary:
Peter (McKidd) and Penny (Ryan) are an ordinary middle class couple: childless, career-minded and cosseted. But when Penny is admitted to A&E with what appears to be a minor complaint, their world is turned upside down.
Peter arrives at the hospital late. It’s a busy night, and the emergency department is full of the ill and injured. Frustrated by the lack of help he receives, Peter decides to take matters into his own hands. He begins to wander the corridors in search of his wife.
As he ventures deep inside the building, a series of strange encounters divert him from the task at hand. He is slowly drawn into a parallel world of officious security guards, social outcasts and drug-addicted hospital staff. Will he escape in time to see the woman he loves and atone for past mistakes?
Anyone planning on going?

Grey’s Anatomy Discussion: How do you feel about medicine-focused episodes?
November 2, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

Image: SXC
The last couple of episodes of Grey’s Anatomy have undoubtedly shifted the focus away from the usual interpersonal relationships between the characters and dealt heavily with the medical. For some viewers the change has been a welcome one, while for others it has been a frustrating couple of episodes.
It is unlikely that all of the remaining episodes of season six will deal only with the medicine, as there are many things headed our way that will impact the relationships on the show. We know, for example, that Kim Raver (Lipstick Jungle) will be showing up to stir things up between Cristina and Hunt (as if they need more stirring up). Then we’ve got Leven Rambin showing up in Mark’s (and Lexie’s) life. And of course, who can forget the fact that there’s a bunch of new people wandering around Seattle Grace?
But the past couple of episodes have worked to remind us that these characters we know and love are doctors first and foremost. But did we need to be reminded? Is it important to focus on Derek’s ability to remove an impossible tumor? Will the fact that he did so successfully impact his storyline for the rest of the season?
More to the point: How did you feel about the past couple of episodes? Did you like the fact that we got to see more about the medicine or are you hoping the writers have gotten it all out of their system and return to the characters?
Discuss in the comments!

In the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy the doctors must work their special brand of miracle medicine to save a newborn baby’s life. It looks like the whole team must ban together for this particular case. Nothing says grab the tissue box like a dying baby. But if Derek could tackle a super tumor and win, then surely the doctors of Seattle Grace can save this baby!
Looks like it’s going to be another edge-of-your-seat episode.
Is it just me, or is this season turning out to be really exciting to watch?

October 28, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz
Ah, sneak peeks. The impatient fans’ best friend. And this week, E! Online has blessed us with five sneak peeks of Thursday’s episode. For all you McDreamy lovers out there, this is one episode you will not want to miss, as Derek seems to be the focus of the major storyline. He’ll be going head to head (or hand to scalpel) with an inoperable tumor that he’s confident he can remove. The Chief is not so sure and tells Derek not to operate. Does Derek listen? It does not seem like it!
More sneak peeks after the break!
