Kevin McKidd Talks About Owen and Cristina

November 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

If you’re worried about Owen and Cristina, it sounds like there’s a lot of reason to be. Teddy Altman’s arrival at Seattle Grace is absolutely going to complicate things between Hunt and Yang. E! Online talked to Kevin McKidd about all the changes and potential roadblocks ahead for the couple and the full interview is worth checking out. There’s a lot of interesting insight about the actor/character relationship.

What we can take away from the interview is this: There is going to be a lot of drama for the couple mainly because television calls for conflict. As McKidd said, “The characters can’t be happy all the time.” However, he also admits that both he and co-star Sandra Oh hope the two will find a happy ending. “You’ve got to believe that love for love will win out in the end.” It’s nice to know that the actors are for the couple working out. At least, it is if you’re cheering for Owen and Cristina to work it out.

There’s no details as to how exactly Kim Raver’s character will mess with the relationship, but the actor teases us with, “People are hopefully going to be very, very torn and very involved and kind of sucked into it. I think it’s a very interesting story we’re telling…Stuff happens that you do not expect. Because you know when things like this happen in life, it can change your perception on a dime. And I think the intensity of that is going to be a really interesting player.”

Vague but intriguing. Lots of mystery about what will be involved in this love triangle between the three docs.

If you wish to read the full interview, head on over to E! Online. It’s a good read.

Are you looking forward to this storyline?

Sneak Peeks for 6.10 Holidaze

November 19, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

If you’ve been waiting for some hot action – or any action – between Owen and Cristina, it looks like we’ll be getting some of that tonight, going by one of the sneak peeks. If you’re impatient about tonight’s episode and can’t wait any longer for a taste of what’s to come, look no further. Here’s a few clips to keep you entertained until episode 6.10 “Holidaze” airs. As we know, the episode will be covering the full spectrum of the holiday season – Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. So be sure to eat your turkey, open presents, and get ready to kiss at midnight.

I must warn you that the music in the background is a little louder than the dialogue in some of the clips and so maybe headphones would help with discerning what’s being said. I’ll see if I can track down better quality clips. They all seem to have the same sound issue. Hope you enjoy anyway.

Eric Dane Joins Burlesque Cast

November 18, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

27981PCN EricDane03Well, it’s official: Eric Dane has joined the ensemble cast of the upcoming musical Burlesque. And if that’s not enough for you, check out who else is in it: Cher, Christina Aguilera, Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet, Kristen Bell and Alan Cumming. That’s a must-see production right there.

So what’s it about? The story revolves around “Ali, an ambitious small-town girl with a big-town voice who finds love, family and success in a neo-burlesque club.” Ali is played by Christina Aguilera. And who’s Eric Dane playing? He’ll be playing Marcus, a successful, charming businessman that tries to win Ali’s heart while also trying to buy out the burlesque club from Cher. I mean, Tess.

According to Variety, we can expect a release for Thansgiving – of 2010. So, still a bit to go. But I can’t wait to see this.

TV Guide Interview with Shonda Rhimes and Season 6 Spoilers

November 18, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

It’s time for another Shonda Rhimes interview, which means lots of information about what we can expect on Grey’s Anatomy. It’s evident that the beloved Executive Producer/Creator of our favorite show is excited about the show’s direction and the storylines underway. So let’s see what she had to say about it all!

If you wish to remain fully in the dark about the future of the show and its characters, do look away. Otherwise, carry on.

In regards to the Teddy/Owen/Cristina (Bermuda) Triangle, she says that new doc Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) will mess with Cristina and Owen’s relationship “but not how you’d expect.” Rhimes continued, “I think everyone assumes it’s going to go one way. It’s a very different story than we’ve ever told before.”

In related news, Kevin McKidd told TV Guide, “Something happens between the three of them that’s pretty explosive. Up until now you’ve not really seen anyone draw any lines in the sand, but you start to see that this week.”

What does it all mean? Besides the obvious: Cristina does not like Teddy. So much for loving her present.

Moving on to Meredith and Derek:

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: MerDer Obstacles On the Way

November 16, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

So the good news is that Ellen Pompeo is – as we’ve seen – back at work and ready to go. Which means that Derek and Meredith are soon to return to their rightful place as King and Queen of Seattle Grace. At least, when it comes to the focus of the show. Hooray!

The … let’s not say bad news, let’s say ‘not-so-happy’ the not-so-happy news is that all is not going to remain Post-It Wedding paradise and Wall-Drawing dreams forever. Indeed, our favorite couple is going to be heading into a rocky time in their lives, particularly when it comes to work. Come the second half of the season, Meredith and Derek are going to have to deal with “work-oriented” relationship challenges. I imagine that will lead to arguments and arguments will lead to making up and making up will lead to on-call room happy time. If you know what I mean.

But back to some good news: No matter what you may have heard in those virtual dark alleys, MerDer is not breaking up. They are – and I’m quoting Shonda Rhimes here – “together forever.” So, drama or no drama, we can still expect a happily ever after for the couple.

Grey’s Anatomy 6.10 Holidaze Promo (Video)

November 13, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

Grey’s Anatomy continues on with another all-new episode next Thursday, November 19. The episode is called “Holidaze” and looks very much like an emotional affair with lots of stuff happening over several weeks. Mark gets a very unexpected visitor (you can find out more by watching the promo), and a couple of parents present themselves. Owen/Cristina look to be having some issues (when do they not). And Kim Raver continues on as Dr. Teddy.

The episode sounds like it will be focused mainly on the personal lives of the doctors at Seattle Grace. It should be a really interesting episode to watch.

Are you looking forward to ‘Holidaze’?

Grey’s Anatomy 6.09 “New History” Sneak Peeks

November 12, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

Tonight, Grey’s Anatomy is all-new again. Izzie’s back! And I’m sure there will be loads of drama trailing behind her. If you missed the promo for the episode, you can watch it here.

But now there’s a couple of sneak peeks released by ABC for tonight’s episode, entitled “New History.” We pick up with Cristina and Jackson – and for those of you cheering them on, this clip makes it clear that if they do end up together, it won’t be an easy ride. It seems like the writers are creating two possible outcomes for Cristina: a future with Hunt or maybe one with the new guy. Many viewers have responded positively to the idea of Cristina/Jackson. So who knows if they’re meant to be.

Oh and did I mention that Izzie’s back? Oh I did. Well, Izzie’s back! And I’m sure Alex has a lot of mixed emotions on the subject. Do you think those two are going to make it? I’m willing to bet Reed hopes they don’t.

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers Season 6: Another Katherine Heigl Hiatus

November 12, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

The following post contains what some might consider to be spoilers. If you wish to know nothing about what’s coming up this season, now’s a good time to look away.

**Spoilers**

Word from Ausiello this week points to another Katherine Heigl hiatus starting early next year. This time, the reasons for her time off are personal in nature: she wishes to spend time with her new daughter. Who can fault her for that? Of course, she’s not the only new mom on the block, so I wonder how all the new moms are taking to this break? Ellen Pompeo was quick to get back to work after giving birth and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind some extra time with her daughter.

Look for Izzie to go MIA again after the holiday break.

In the meantime, the question lingers: Is she really pregnant? Ausiello wouldn’t give a yes or no answer to the question, but he did say that “ABCs promo gurus are very sneaky!” So my guess is that they cut the promo in such a way that it made us think Meredith was talking to Izzie but was in fact talking to someone else. Whether that someone else is someone important or a guest star/patient, I have no idea. Or – Izzie could be pregnant. But I’m doubting that.

In other news, if you’re looking for some news on The Chief, Ausiello reveals that he will be “falling off the wagon” at the end of tonight’s episode.

What are your thoughts on The Chief this season? And what do you think of Katherine Heigl taking another break?

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers Season 6: Cristina/Jackson and Callie/Arizona

November 10, 2009 by Ingrid Diaz

If you were left wanting after last week’s kiss-that-went-nowhere between Cristina and Jackson, I’m afraid that whatever’s in store for them remains under lock and key at Shondaland headquarters. However, in an interview with Jesse Williams (he who plays Jackson), he stated that most of his upcoming scenes are with Cristina (and Lexie). So if you’re hoping for some more Cristina/Jackson goodness, it looks like your wish is granted, even if the “goodness” does not directly translate into “hot steamy sex.” More than likely, what we’ll get is a lot of sexual tension and perhaps awkwardness between the two as a result of the kiss.

Regarding Callie and Arizona, Jessica Capshaw stated in her interview that the couple is in “a nice place.” But of course, this is Grey’s Anatomy which means that nice places are never a safe place to be. The actress admits that while they’re in a “loving relationship” there will be some inevitable drama. What this drama is or how it will manifest is anyone’s guess but Shonda’s. Let’s just hope they make it.

It seems a lot of viewers have changed their mind about Cristina/Hunt and are now cheering on Cristina/Jackson. Are you still loyal to Owen or would you rather Cristina ended up with the new boy in town?
